I remember there was a readers poll in Japan about these pairings... HimaSaku surprisingly was most voted, followed by Chinatsu x Akari. Can't recall how well Kyouko x Ayano and Yui x Kyouko did.

Plot: Two high-school girls fall in love, yay! But one is swept away by an older guy and they break up. Later it turns out the guy was just using her for cheap sex, and dumps her. She kills herself and her former GF is shattered... thus entering that 'hidden room' for revenge like the girl on the last page. (good for 4-5 chapters at least)

I sure hope that those publishers in Japan, the ones who released the Jingai Yuri books, have the same idea as you and commission a series based on this oneshot.

This is surprisingly good, pretty funny also, I will really enjoy reading this to the very end.

Edit: Also, I was wondering why I felt pretty nostalgic when seeing the art style, I'm surprised to see it was the same author as Prism, I was like 12 and closeted when I read that one, maaan, nostalgia wave, I was so dissapointed it never got finished, I hope this one does end up getting finished, and hopefully it's not bait like some ppl claim with "Stretch" which I haven't read.

Prism is one fond memory of mine as well.

Stretch... is a good manga, but the ending is unsatisfactory. In a nutshell: it's one of those stories where two girls start living together -- they are friends, one of them needs a place to stay, and the other one (who has an apartment) takes her in -- and it's obvious that guest girl has a crush on host girl, so we genre-savvy readers naturally expected the story to go the way of, say, A Room For Two: after living together for a while, the two girls fall in love!!! <3 Sadly, it never happened. The readers got tired of waiting for a development that never came, the manga lost popularity, and it eventually reached its end not with a bang but a whimper.

This manga shows more promise. Hey, we had a love confession within three chapters, right? That's more than Stretch did in 45 chapters!

As you see, this is story 6 in the Vanilla volume: Grim Reaper and indigo dying candles, by Shin Takekawa, which was translated under the title A Candle for the Grim Reaper. There isn't any continuation, what you've read is all there is.
(Of course, some editor could eventually like it and decide to turn it into a longer series... but I wouldn't bet too much on it.)

After thinking, I have a modest theory. Remember that pic with Amane that won an award, Sunset Girl? With Amane looking so cute and sexy? I suspect that this made Nene really jealous. Nene is the one who's a semi-pro model aiming to go pro, and she's in photoshoots all the time; she must have thought "it should have been me in the award-winning pic!" and then grew resentful of Amane.

If I'm right, this is a big part of why Nene broke up with Amane.

Lol, in these movies from the 50s it's difficult to say who sleeps with who... even Dorothy, in her big romantic scene with the leading bloke, goes no further than a kiss; at which point the scene ends, and we move to next morning. Like, we can't say for sure if they slept together that night or not.

But we do know a few things about Dorothy's past from Lorelei, who said Dorothy is always running from one musclebound stud to another. And that musical number in the Olympic team's gym... WOW. Dorothy goes into the gym (where all the male athletes in the american Olympic team are doing their training, most of them in shorts and bare-chested, showing up their sculpted muscular physiques) and basically asks the lot of them if someone, anyone, wants to fuck? Because, as for her, she's ready and raring to go!

I'm not trying to slut-shame her or anything; on the contrary: I'm all for sexual freedom! All I'm saying, doctor, is that I think that we can accurately diagnose a touch of nymphomania in her case.

I've been having a hard time taking this one seriously, and Nene's see-through skirt thing with shorts underneath doesn't help. D:

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell, one of the most objectionable movies ever made. God only knows how it went through the Hays Code censorship. Monroe plays Lorelei Lee, a gold-digger. Russell plays Dorothy Shaw, a nympho. Lorelei dates guys for money and presents, and plans to marry a millionaire heir for his daddy's moolah. Dorothy likes hunky musclemen, and the more the better; at one point in the movie, she tries to seduce the whole American Olympic team. No terrible calamity ever befalls any of them, they are never punished by heavenly lightning, and in the end they both get married to their chosen ones and live happily forever.

If you don't want spoilers, then let's just put it this way: yes, there is development, as time flows in the story at the same pace as in the real world. (A Room For Two started in 2014; we are now in 2019... and exactly 5 years have gone by in the manga universe.)

Oh, and, since they are at it, they will also crusade against the idea that a wealthy man will easily attract swarms of girls who find the allure of money irresistible, while a poor man (especially if he's poor and unprepossessing) will find that it's much more difficult for him.

This is especially true when talking about Japanese manga. Manga is created by Japanese authors for the Japanese audience, and yuri manga is made by Japanese yuri authors for Japanese yuri lovers. Yuri manga is not made for American lesbians. Nobody in Japan who is involved in manga creation gives a flaming rat's ass about the petty peeves of feminists, social warriors and pc-minded people in America. That's why trying to smash manga with the self-righteous moralizing of American political correctness is especially ridiculous and absurd.

This is actually a pet peeve of mine against certain American so-called experts on manga (cough Erica Friedman cough). Lambasting manga because it doesn't follow your political agenda and doesn't cater to the sensibilities of American lesbian feminists, which is what these reviewers do, is beyond moronic -- and leads to rejecting 95% of the yuri manga out there. But I have written extensively on the subject in the past, so I'll say no more now.

There are two girls. One is incredibly beautiful. How do we know? Well, first, because of the way she's drawn, following the manga codes for feminine beauty. Second, because of the sparkles around her, meaning that her beauty is dazzling to those who look. Third, because the other girl turns SD when she sees her, indicating her shock in presence of such beauty. Fourth, because the heart of this other girl starts beating wildly in arousal. Fifth, because this other girl wonders if the one in front of her comes from another species, like a Tolkien elf, gifted with otherworldly beauty. Sixth, because the author FUCKING TELLS US SO in a caption with the narration: "An incredibly beautiful girl arrived!"

Great writing. Instant classic. Well done!

Wow, harsh. But there is some of that in her last message... I mean, it's one thing to preach against the evils of the world (or what you perceive as evils), it's another thing to claim that those evils cannot exist because they clash with your notions of good and right.
When you try to deny that there are widely-accepted criteria of beauty in our world, that beautiful people are more successful at many things than those who are not, and that wealthy men tend to have an easier time with women than the poor and destitute, your whole argument is diving head first into stark raving incoherence, all right.
