Such hypocrites, aren't they? School system is entirely about turning students into nicely conforming people, not about fostering individuality. Moreover, it gears them towards being economic successful in society, particularly in Japan, with the additional tone that women are still kind of expected to a "good marriage" as a life goal.

So now we have a heroine who's precisely doing all that. She's essentially the perfect embodiment of the system.

And all of the traits are suddenly portrayed as bad ones.

last time we got a "yuri-series" MC that wanted to get married to a rich guy while doing yuri things as a facade, she actually ended the series in the same note of wanting a guy, so I have little hope for this one as well.

Well. Since she doesn't care about love from her perspective a rich girl should be fine, too.

Then she marries some poor girl and lives in abject misery the rest of her life before dying early because she can't afford great health care (let's just randomly assume it got privatized in this fictional setting), after years of getting beaten up by her constantly financially stressed waifu, who resorted to alcohol as a form of escapism.

Don't know about the plot so far. On one hand, I kinda like that they play around with that trope of amazing school girls, in that nobody could actually be like that without being fake. On the other hand, I agree that it doesn't make them very likable. Might just be a first chapter thing, with their more redeeming qualities popping up later, who knows.

The question would be why Fennec was anywhere near her doing her business if she didn't want anything to happen. Temptress!

Japan is weird when it comes to LGBT. Homosexuality has been legal since the beginning and its fairly visible in their culture in various ways, which is more than can be said about many Western countries. And we all know what kind of sword fighting many samurai did with their students wink wink

But they have this weird "don't take it seriously" thing going on. A bit of the "don't ask, don't tell" mentally, too, perhaps. Well, at least they started with this partnership certificate thing, so there's certainly movement there.

Frankly, if you look at the global situation those last years for "first world countries" I'd wish politicians would just get "it" over with. It's clear where the wind is blowing, and countries pass laws one after another. Might as well stop delaying, it's not a development that's going to turn around any time soon.

The most important part for getting someone into fighting games is to make sure they have fun. And part of having fun is being able to play a character that one enjoys, no matter how good or bad it is.

True, but at the same time, once you start whatever multiplayer you choose, even if fairly casual, it's super-annoying if you basically can't play your fav since it's one huge handicap. I suppose for a complete beginner it wouldn't matter too much, but I doubt that'd last long.

But it's basically the same for all games. Certain strategies, weapons etc are the most effective, and then you either do what everybody else does, or accept that you are going to lose against players of equal skill.

It's like a harmless version of Teppuu. Where the girls cooperate and are gay for each other instead of developing a blood-thirsty rivalry while looking down on each other, play a cute beat 'em up instead of actually beating each other up, and the heroine has fun with her amazing talent instead of becoming a twisted cynic due to how easily she gets to be good at everything.

Only if they do a training camp at a local hotel with an open-air bath.
