I don't mind the character and I actually enjoy satirical representation like these. Is good to laugh at myself every now and then you know?

Having said that, the lack of proper yuri is the only thing that keeps me from fully enjoying the story. With some seriousness to balance the comedy th whole thing feels off.

Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid- television anime series will premiere on October 10 at 11:30 p.m. on AT-X. The show will then premiere on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and TV Aichi on October 12, and then on BS11 on October 17.

Well, we know that a mysterious disease is the reason girls can turn into weapons and that everyone affected has been isolated on five different man made islands. Bhikhuni (the one where the Vita game happens) is the only one where they teach the girls to harness the power brought by the disease.

The anime is focused on Mirei and her past. She's suddenly transferred to the Mermaid island and she ends teaming up with Mamori to fend off some attackers. From that we only have the stuff present on the characters' profiles. Like Mermaid being governed by a "man" or Lady J and her partner being foreigners on the island and investigating something.

Also, the uncensored version of Mermaid is pretty much hentai.

WHY

Honestly, I never understood the existence of the fairies. I mean, they're absurdly cute but they die by the dozen and NO ONE CARES. Why not just use unmaned vehicles? Is really needed to break my heart like this? T_T
