^Yeah there were things that could be improved with Gwitch, I guess the main thing is that the two series aren't really comparable for me at least

^I dearly loved Gwitch personally, and I was happy with that ending. I was disappointed with Birdie Wing's ending on all fronts, possible romance, rivalry, as a sports anime, and so on haha

Overwhelming waves of emotions can definitely be a difficult thing to manage. I at least understand some of their awkwardness here, and having difficulty processing everything they're feeling, going through, and so on.

I think it's just playing on the title, that reality it's self is dreamlike, especially when your dreams come true.

^I think we all were, or at least hoping. With the cheek kiss, kisses being part of a bet, and flirty element before...which just kind of evaporates over the course of season 2, for no good reason I'd argue. That and IMO the progression of the series, and end in general, was extremely unsatisfying.
