Sure, that means Irie is confirmed super gay, and that's great, that's what we're all here for, but it also means that Slacker Vampire targeted her because he was attracted to her, and basically got off on drinking her blood. So as much as I sympathise with people who are tired of folks whining whenever there's a trace of dudes in their yuri, I kinda feel like discomfort about Slacker Vampire is a little more warranted in this case?

I think that Slacker Vampire Guy has to be a guy for the simple reason that the story is about Irie's relationship with Nana (and maybe her other classmates). If Slacker Vampire Guy was, instead, Slacker Vampire Girl, then we'd be wondering why Irie wasn't hooking up with Slacker Vampire Girl. By making him a guy in a yuri manga, the author is effectively removing him from the field of play, freeing up Irie to be gay as shit.

I get that we're supposed to view him as harmless, and that the author is trying to encourage us to think of him as harmless by having Irie disregard him completely, but literally the first thing he did in the story was establish himself as not harmless at all? Like, if he really was harmless, then there wouldn't even be a story in the first place.

Someone had to turn Irie into a bloodsucking fiend of the night. If it'd been a girl vampire, it would've complicated the yuri romantic picture. Hence: Comic Relief Dude Vampire.

I am completely unfamiliar with this series aside from reading a couple of other doujins here on Dynasty. Through those doujins, I gleaned that Aikatsu! was related to Idols in some fashion, similar to Idolm@ster.

Therefore I was very confused when these two started talking about Yurika being a 600-year-old vampire... (A quick trip to Wikipedia has since cleared up the matter.)

I gotta say the "OMG THERE'S A HINT OF TESTOSTERONE IN MY PURE ESTROGEN FANTASY!" complaints are kind of odd. It's like being back in elementary school and hearing the kids freak out about cooties.

I'd be fascinated to see how the people making those complaints break down in terms of age, sexual experience, and the presence or absence of a Y chromosome. I have my suspicions about how that particular set of data would be skewed, but I could be wrong.

So, when do you guys think Nana will turn into a vampire? Round the middle of the series or at the end? (remember, it's a CHANCE of happening, and obviously getting bitten a lot would massively increase that chance)

As a warm, cuddly sadist, I enjoyed the hell out of this manga. I started reading it and thought it was going to be a pure gag manga, much like the relationship between Mayami and Reina in Yandere Kanojo.

But then something happened there in the middle chapters and the characters got some actual development and then it surprisingly turned into a touching story about love and getting in touch with your inner sadist (which is a topic with which I have some experience).

Hearkening back to the discussion about the nature of BDSM from three pages and two years ago, I personally don't enjoy BDSM without sex. My relationship to BDSM without sex is roughly the same as my relationship to non-alcoholic beer or decaffeinated coffee.

That's just me, though. I am fully aware that there are many BDSM practicioners who do it in a completely non-sexual way. Way back in the day, I used to go to the Black Rose Society meetings in DC. One of the folks who started it was a guy named Jack. Jack was like this cheerful little dude who looked like a fire hydrant and acted like a leprechaun. And he was totally into non-sexual BDSM. Had a $10,000 dungeon built in his basement, but his wife wasn't into BDSM. He only had sex with her, but had a stable of willing subs who would come over and let him beat the snot out of 'em.

So anyways, yeah, I get it that those folks exist. More power to 'em. But it ain't for me. My only objection to the two-year-old-discussion-that-I-am-now-bringing-back-from-the-dead is the notion that BDSM and sex are linked only because of Hollywood and "ignorant writers". Because I was combining those two things like chocolate and peanut butter nearly 20 years before 50 Shades of Gray ever saw the light of day. And there is certainly a rich and storied history of combining those two things in fiction (e.g. Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty, The Story of O, hell even the Gor novels by John Norman).

I started reading this, and it seemed to be Yet Another Yuri Story Where The New Girl Crushes On Her Senpai. The tropes were signalling that straight away. Lotte was going to be the tsundere, Teti was going to be the nervous admirer, the phrase "but we're both girls!" was going to be tossed around with gay abandon, etc etc.

And then it totally went the other direction, with Lotte being the one crushing on her kouhai. Well done, that mangaka!

And yes, Nez, Hexe was certainly a breath of fresh air. Though I really also liked Lenny a great deal.

In the middle bits there, I was expecting the sudden accident/suicide/whatever that would allow Misao to die and be together with Mizuki forever. Was nice to see that the author didn't go that route.

As hentai goes, this is pretty interesting.

As yuri goes, it's pretty terrible.

I don't think there was any real mind control or supernatural elements taking place. I think we're just supposed to assume that Kumi has an extremely forceful and charismatic personality.

Bottom line, the very fact that it's totally unclear shows how lousy the writing is. I mean, if those weird speech things don't indicate some kind of telepathic coercion, then we have a main character previously shown as wilful, self-confident and free-spirited suddenly folding for no reason whatsoever except this "forceful" person saying "You, instead of threatening me, fold for me". Doesn't hentai logic usually require at least some kind of blackmail material?

The implication I took from the comic was that Class Rep Ozu is a slave to her insatiable lusts. That's why she goes commando.
