At first, I was a bit irked by Touko's monologuing at at the end of the play: even though I know how theater works, I still think there must have been a subtler way to show the protagonist's character development there, especially given how awesome the author (both in- and out-of-universe) has used Touko's mad acting skills in the previous acts. Then it hit me that Koyomi must have dropped the anvil on purpose, just to force Touko to say those words out loud, for her own good.

I also agree with previous comments that the play was not the climax, but the setup for the climax. While Touko is riding the euphoria right now, I expect a crash to come pretty soon, when she actually gives it some thought what she wants to do now. Still, I would love to see Yuu become the focal character next instead...

Another option is that the author is gunning for the Forgotten Childhood Friend trope: Liz and the MC were childhood friends, except the MC couldn't recognize her again behind the rock star persona, even after Liz has shown her girly private self. She was really upset about the guitar-shaped earrings mainly because they showed that the MC is perceiving her as a distant rock star, rather than remembering her as a friend.

That said, I agree 100% that she should just open her mouth and tell whatever it is that bothers her rather than playing the mystery mind-reading game.

If she has an ear issue, my guess is that deafness affected her at some point. Weather she's deaf in one ear, or had a lover that was deaf. Considering she's a singer, that could explain some things.

I had the same train of thought: what if Liz is actually partially deaf, but hides it so it doesn't ruin her career? That could lead to some extreme insecurity regarding everything that has to do with ears and, in turn, to major overreactions, the like of which we've seen twice so far.

(Speaking from personal experience, my significant other is affected by hearing loss, and is very sensitive to having her ears touched -- though not nearly as much as Liz.)

People have been shitting on her for just being lazy or overreacting since the series first got released on Dynasty. Though I'm kinda surprised there are still people being idiots who can't understand others this late in the series. Those people largely just disappeared after the first couple of chapters when they were proven wrong.

As one of those people who initially misinterpreted Neeko, I can at least say that I am still around. :-) While I was, indeed, proven wrong, I am still quite confused by this story's intention: if it wants to be a lighthearted comedy, the issues it describes are too real, but if it wants to talk about anxiety and depression seriously, are we still supposed to find it funny, as the Comedy tag seems to suggest?

I think it would be stronger writing if they didn't lose the ability to swap, but the first kiss that is intended as an actual lover's kiss by both of them, and whenever they would kiss as lovers later on, would not swap them.

That doesn't make sense because the other swap couple are lovers already.

True, that... I guess I just don't want them to go back to being muggles just because they finally realize the truth about their relationship. ^^

My headcanon: Granite is actually a multi-classing Monk, who took up fire magic to appease her family. The last panel is actually her getting into the Stance of Ass-Kicking. >__>

Except that she loves fire magic just like shown in flashback. Though martial art ability is cool ability.

Then maybe it's the other way around? She leveled up in some other class because of her family, but then went for fire mage of her own preference, even though she is not really good at it?
