That was... underwhelming? So many chapters spent on what amounts to nothing only for the completely undeveloped childhood friend to come in at the last second and swoop her ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Underwhelming and so clumsy in it's execution that it feels more comical than dramatic. The author decided to focus almost exclusively on the angsty thoughts of the 2 MCs at the expense of everything else.
Aside from the first several chapters, which were fine. It started going off the rails when we got that timeskip.
But it's still an amusing read. I'll keep reading if the author continues the story (and Kirin continues to translate it).
