It's a logistical thing. DBscans aside, assuming one new work for comiket per touhou circle at oh, 15% of the circles produce manga, that's something like 100ish works. Most of that won't make it to be scanned on the internet, and then it gets further narrowed by what the scanlators have access to/can translate

I only recently understood girls last tour is book about an nihilistic yet somewhat hopeful view of human history.

I think I'm reading this right, in that Ran's sheer horror during the break in the last battle is because she realizes Yukari's become so unbelievably potent that she's able to tie those ribbons around a break in reality as if it were an object unto itself, something utterly inconceivable but now she can do it casually. Which would be consistent with the other references to her gaps, where they start out very rough and become more and more refined as she continues to learn and grow. It's interesting to see a progression like that through the story, especially with the big emotional payoff at the end.

I do think Remi was overreacting a wee bit at Flan's saying she really didn't need all that pride crap to have a happy life. That, and Meiling was awesome.

I think it's also because she realised that on top of Yukari being the monster of monsters, she's also Laplace's demon, and has mathematically calculated all of Ran's moves.

I love the little sneaky overdrive reference in this one (Miko gets offered to play on easy cause she's sick and so she instantly chooses lunatic cause only kids play on easy mode according to the song)

My impression of what happened is that Hatate stopped using her Thoughtgraphy, switching to a conventional style of reporting sometime after the current age of gensokyo. Time passes, and she remembers that she used to be able to do it, and decides to try again. In doing so she digs up a photo of Marisa and Nitori, and then goes and shows it to her. Nitori thanks her, and Hatate realises that her ability isn't as useless as she used to think. She goes and talks to a still alive sanae about the outside world, having remembered seeing photos of it with thoughtography. Eventually Aya visits her, they talk about gensokyo past and how the new shrine maidens are useless compared to Reimu. Hatate then writes using her thoughtography with the lessons she's learned, and rises above Aya. Aya admits that she's getting too old for this, but still wishes to beat Hatate next year anyways.

The ones where Yukari is more of a mom to reimu are great. Really wish that dynamic was used more instead of just romantic interest

I don't think the scene in the OR is het either. Patchy is a research doctor who's probably never done meatball surgery, and someone who knows what they are doing and is experienced calming her down doesn't really convey romance.

An example in the flip side would be like if when Major Winchester arrives at the MASH 4077 and panics from the amount of wounded flowing in and out of the hospital, Hawkeye grabs him and tells him to calm down and to take a deep breath. There would be no romantic overtone there. It's just two different doctors in areas and experiences trying to keep people alive.

Definitely one of my favourite takes on gensokyo. Somethin about it being modernised is so nice, even if that modernisation has all the flaws of our current situation

This was really sweet! It's got some really good vibes and just is comfy overall.
