Does something like that happens in the novels ? These Chinese works always make me fearful of them remaining subtext due to censorship laws and whatnot

Maybe they are just not translated, but I actually haven't seen a Chinese ( or Korean) subtext series. I feel subtext Yuri is mostly a thing with manga, while GL manhua and manhwa are much more to the point with little ambiguity.

So the first yuri action is not between the main couple after they got together, but one of them with some one else. Interesting choice.

It's weird seeing Rei this flustered and worked up when she has never been unfazed before. She took a beating this time, but it's probably worth it if she saw Claire's face on the last page.

Also, I feel kinda bad for having this thought, but I think it would have been hilarious if there was a plot twist that these two were twin sisters who got separated from birth or something.

Syoukaki is one of my favorite doujin artists. Didn't know that they did some yuri too.

Too bad about the series ending, but good news is that there is a new essay comic beginning with this month YuriHime issue, Koharu and Minato. This new autobiographical series is about an age-gap couple who just moved in together recently. The manga will be drawn by both of them. What they uploaded to pixiv look pretty cute, so I hope someone will pick it up for translation.

I just realize this artist drew the doujin about a mom finding her daughter's incest porn stash. Talk about art evolution.

Also, can she not talk/make a sound? I know 90% of this manga’s text just seems to be the inner thoughts of our protagonist, but it seems like the ghost girl can’t even say anything?

This reminds me of a het horror manga about a guy 'haunted' by his dead childhood friend (who acts like his guardian angel). The ghost girl stays mute throughout the story and only gestures to the MC. Wonder if this manga follows the same path.

So people don't know the emperor is a she, or it's just the protagonist? It's funny that the little fairy (?) doesn't bother to tell her.

Exactly. Gongdou literally means palace intrigue. The genre is hugely popular in Chinese costume drama.

It's called a preview. The point is to inform people about major plot points so they will stick around through the initial setup, knowing full well how impatient online readers are.

Why do you assume that she's a housewife who draws manga in her free time and not the vice versa? Just because she has fun drawing this series doesn't mean this is not her main job. Making comics to upload to Twitter/pixiv or doujins for sales at Comicket might be a hobby, but an actual serialization requires professional commitment, not just something you do in your free time.

Now that I read it I can understand why this remained untranslated for so long. Obviously the point is to introduce these characters all at the same time and then focus on them later, but I feel there are better ways to do this. There are other series with huge ensemble cast but their first chapters don't feel this chaotic and overloaded.

This was the last untranslated series in the current YuriHime lineup. It's nice to see it finally here.

I have no clue what direction this manga is going to take, which is great.
Btw, what happened to that series with the buxom exorcist and the the ancient ghost? Haven't seen an update for a while.

Eh, no one is having a meltdown or claiming the author can only be straight. It's just one person assuming the author's partner is a woman for some reasons, hence the replies pointing out the assumption was faulty.
