I'm not getting my hopes up, but I see a lot of potential for Ryuugasaki to be a closeted trans girl that uses drag as an outlet (not uncommon among trans girls). He dresses as a girl full time even from a very young age, he shows signs of gender dysphoria when he didn't want others seeing him after not getting enough sleep, and it would make a lot of sense that he doesn't generally need makeup because he's started hormone therapy (or at least blockers). It's a nice headcanon I'll hold onto, but I sincerely doubt the author would go there.

Yeah, with how shallow this mangaka's storytelling tends to be, its very unlikely, last time they tried to dip into more serious lgbt topics it didn't turn out so well, although i would also like it.

It was mostly enjoyable, but the ending felt a little rushed.

A little too mean spirited for my taste

What kinda cigarette smells like coconut milk? Every cigarette i've ever been around has smelled like smoke and poison.

This was just bad. I personally think stories should have some level of logic, but maybe my standards are too high, idk.

I've been having this conversation with the Yuri denying minority of the Symphogear fandom. For some reason they can't get it through their heads that if something is constantly hinted from the very first to the very last episode, then it can sufficiently be considered canon, even if they cut away seconds before the confession.

SaturnX.
The way Noelle described it was kinda a cross between a cat's and a human's, that can be interpreted many ways, but I think it means that while it is thicker and cat like in certain places, it still probably follows human patterns, so like a human her tummy wouldn't be all that hairy, but her forearms and legs are probably downright furry

v surprised that the author was straight

Really? I thought it had "straight author" written all over it. Like, I'll give them credit, judging by that note at the end, he does legitimately seem to care about LGBT issues, but he REALLY should have spent more time polishing his writing and fleshing out the story a whole lot more. Also Gin should have been completely reworked as a character, I can think of two simple changes that I would prefer, 1) just go full clueless straight cis guy without all the hinting that he may be something else, 2) make Gin gender fluid, it would make a lot of sense. Also I'd completely remove the nurse as a character, she served no purpose beyond last minute het hookup.

This manga was pretty terrible from beginning to end, but hey, I still ended up reading the whole thing, so maybe that counts for something.

What if that's Haruka's other girlfriend?

This manga is a perfect example of why i don't usually read gag mangas, I genuinely like this manga, but it's getting harder and harder for me to keep coming back knowing that the next chapter is going to be basically the same as a dozen chapters before it.

this one left me a bit confused and a little conflicted. the mood whiplash wasnt nice, especially that fake out. This was far better than the borderline rape apology dumpster fire that was 'Melty Pudding' but on the whole, it was meh at best. too many stupid elements (fake-out, pushy douche friends) to be really good.

I much prefer the title story of this anthology.

Don't be that tough with the friends. Is repetitive patron on the yuri stories with friends involved, they didn't know what's happening between the main characters and get to be a nuisance when it comes to the "boyfriends" things. But they're not fortune tellers. How would they know?

I'm totally agree when you say that 'pudding' story was a trash.

The main story of the anthology is the best, the sequel on the other hand... i don't know why, makes me feel bad...

i don't think it matters if they knew or not, that kind of pressuring still wouldn't be cool even if those girls did want boyfriends.

I wanna know what non-H yuri you saw in 2005 casually showing them getting as far as sex, because all I can remember is being crushed by subtext in almost anything that wasn't just porn.

It's not like these stigmas have disappeared completely, so I don't think it's bad to write about. Personally, I loved this.

Of course, it does have more modern elements to it, like the fact it isn't at a girls school, but I was referring more to the overall plot and general vibe than any individual elements.

This manga just felt very out of date to me. It feels much more like something from like 2005. With them being so surprised by the idea two girls can date, not to mention the casual sexism, saying she can't be "cool and decisive like a boy", I'm not even sure what that means. Not to say this manga is offensively terrible or anything, it's mostly fine, it's just that I feel like yuri manga moved past this kinda story over a decade ago.

Is this manga an accurate representation of non-binary people?

Well Mogumo's identity is continually validated by the manga and there hasn't been any nasty stereotypes, so yeah. The only thing that I can imagine might turn some ppl off is that Mogumo is very feminine leaning. Well, and sometimes pronouns aren't used correctly, but that's more on the part of the translators than the actual manga.

So, her "secret life" is that she eats normal food and not just sweets all the time? Why would anyone care? Does she think other girls eat nothing but sweets? What is up with manga gendering sweet and savory food like this?

Everyone else is focused on the relationship stuff, while I'm just thinking about how Adachi might be a bit of a sociopath, seriously, like I didn't expect her to casually be like, "I could kill someone if I wanted to, easy"

My problem with this manga isn't that there is a lot of talking, it's that so much of that talking is rambling nonsense. Even worse, when you finally understand what all that rambling was trying to say, it's usually something that makes me question how progressive this manga actually is, because it doesn't seem to be nearly as progressive as it thinks it is.

This manga is as bad as ever I see.
