I took an Intro to Psychology course in college that is required for my major and learned about Phineas Gage, a man who had an iron rod driven completely through his brain. As a result, there were changes to his personality among other things. You probably read about him.

Very true. The brain and personality, as a result, are extremely complicated. Many factors can affect it like neurotransmitters and genetics, as you noted with your father. Cute story. XD
I am a big believer that we are born with a predetermined personality that gets refined or even tailored with age and experience.. BUT the root itself is there since birth.
I agree, as I also see personality being innate in its root. Experiences play their part as well.
This to me is separate from astrology that accounts for a different set of factors, which have probably been debated in this forum already, so I won't get into that. It's nice to find connections though, so I enjoyed learning more about it. :)
