This is such a big thing and people don't even realize it yet in anime communities. I'm just waiting to watch the news blow up. I've also been saying for a long time it wouldn't happen till at least the play arc ends what we are in now.

Ya ok I'm pretty much lost with this one.

People seem to think a dark storm is coming, because Kase got a little weird about Yamada trying on lip stick. The history of the two series doesn't support that, though. Sure there might be a fight, but it will probably be over, in a chapter, or two., and when it's done the couple will have aired out their feeling, becoming closer for it.
The series has never been agsty, and I doubt it will start now. I, for one, hope complications, like boys, and possessive jealously are left out.

On thing to remember though is now the author has a publisher and editors to answer to and give suggestions/imput on where they think the story should go and what should be in it. It is not like it be the first time publishers pushed a author to make changes in a story.

and this probably the first time I ever read a human x animal ears manga where the characters didn't have both human and animal ears and I'm lovin' it.

Both A Centaur's Life and Catulus Syndrome have this and specifically address it.

Thing is while they have good detailed artwork they also significantly rewrite source material for their adaptations plus have a strong aversion to showing kissing in their anime what is a big part of this series. Do people really want to see Yagate completely rewritten and all the kissing scenes eliminated in a anime adaption of the series?

They adapted Maid Dragon & there weren't that much rewriting. Mostly added details to make even more memorable moments, like when Kobayashi gave Tooru the scarf. The kissing part is a bit worrisome though, I agree. But the reason I want KyoAni is because I don't see any other studio who is as good with subtle visual storytelling as them. YagaKimi fits their style perfectly if they are to faithfully adapt it.

Eeh, JC left a bad taste in my mouth with their sloppy adaptation of Children of the Whale. =x Though I'm not too familiar with their usual fare.

Children of the Whale looks beautiful, at least. The writing is bad. Not sure if that's the source's or the anime's fault. But that show didn't leave as bad of an impression on me as much as Kino 2017 got me wary of Lerche (despite the fact that their shows tend to look pretty neat for the most part) lol

And no, Citrus didn't look that awful, come on. Low budget yes, but for a new studio with supposedly limited ressources, the quality is fine. Not great, but fine. The NTR anime is what I call godawful, as it's clear absolutely no effort was put into it.

It looks ok for a low-budget studio, but it's still really bad for normal standard. Only a couple of notch better than NTR. I don't want the bar to be set so low for this series or any decent yuri that might get an adaptation in the future.

Maid dragon was a unusual case. It was apparently picked up in the first place because one the higher ups was a fan of the series. So it didn't get the normal treatment other series by them get and got left mostly intact. On the other hand one their series had a whole relationship removed and one the main characters of it basically regulated to a side/back ground character. Another series was totally changed with new characters added and if I remember kissing between the MCs who are in a relationship removed. Another one also had the kissing and basically all physical contact between the MCs removed.

Oh and Evergarden like the whole first half of the anime series was original content.

JC Staff can really vary on their work. Some times it is low tier junk other times you can truly see they put their passion into it like they did with Flying Witch.

Passione did a pretty good job on Citrus honestly (save for a couple of scenes in the early episodes).

Tbh, Passione's adaptation of Citrus was pretty bad. Not even talking about the writing, just the visuals alone. The background designs were horrendous and characters and objects didn't even look like they belonged on there, just really bad compositing. Characters were off model quite often, too. It was good for laughs, but I wouldn't want YagaKimi to get the same production quality.

But since Wit studio has been polishing their romance chops this season with Magus' Bride and After the Rain, they might be a good option. Or KyoAni, as someone else mentionned here.

KyoAni's a safe bet and I really hope for them, but it's so unlikely that I wouldn't count on it happening too much. A seasoned and decent studio with a good director who can capture the visual storytelling in the manga would probably make for a decent adaptation. Wit & J.C.Staff are cool.

I think J.C.Staff would be best as long as they give it their A game kind of like how they did on Flying Witch and Toradora. Maybe Bones who did akagami no shirayuki or possibly Wit from recent showings. I think thee was one other studio that might be good but the name escapes me.

Production I.G could be another one.

It'll be some shit if this manga ends with her standing at her grave.

Some part of me actually wants to see that ending for some reason. And not a ambiguous that maybe they lived a long life together till she died of old age kind of deal.

Finding out Yagate is a Kadokawa series is kind of disturbing seeing how they tend to have a habit of doing questionable things with their series.

Yah I'm not too much of a fan of this new villain and how over-the-top she is, but I do like that Hana has something more to motivate her than just strength... though I guess it still kinda is "I wanna be strong" since she's doing this to reverse Fu-chan's expulsion.

Though frankly, in the world of common sense, if a school just expelled my kid for absolutely no reason she wouldn't be going back there... But, neither here nor there lol.

I will say, I do hope Nina doesn't get redemption. Let her just be a complete asshole without some tragic motivation.

Side note: dammit, I'm kinda turning around on Aki ALREADY lmao. This shouldn't be happening that darn quick!

I'm thinking in Japan a expulsion from school would be devastating. It would kill her chance of ever getting into any decent collage and make it impossible for her to get a decent job let alone become a nurse. That stuff has a far bigger impact on future life paths there than other places it seems.

You combined two seperate quotes that are months apart. The former was about chapter 2.

Ya didn't mean to combine them. Didn't know it would do that. Was just trying to ask if something had happened. Didn't know it had only been for the single raw of chapter 2.

Good news, we've managed to get ahold of some RAWs (blessed be the Kindle browsing anons) and should have a new chapter soonish!

For anyone confused why this isn't a Yamada and Kase-san chapter, this was a recent web chapter (seperate from the recent magazine issue, I'll get back to you on that when/if someone gets us some RAWs) which I'm guessing is to provide additional content for the fifth tank.

What happen to the ones you got did that source fall through?

Man I've been checking so many times over the last few days for the new chapter. Now back to waiting another month...

I guess my question being was Yuu telling her she isn't alone what she needed to hear at that moment or not.

Is Yagakimi or Citrus more popular over all in Japan?

If ti is anything like how it is described in Kusuriya no Hitorigoto when a courtesan falls in rank she had a really bleak life in the end. If it was Ume she had the affair with then doesn't that mean she basically threw her rank away for her moment with her.

I'm not really sure, but I think most of the times authors are forced to use subtext due to requirements. What was it I read in an interview before... Something like a magic being lost when the relationships are defined from a CGDCT to Yuri. Like Futaribeya where the author seems to imply it should be Yuri but it can't be Yuri.

Still a good ending for me even though I was surprised it's the last chapter. Thanks for the update!

I remember seeing it said Futaribeya has two versions. A full on yuri one that never has been scanned/translated and then the serialized retelling that they got told to only make it subtext by the publisher or someone.

Thank you for translation and getting this series finished. Now if only some the other dropped ones like Maria Watches Over Us and Kanamemo would get picked back up. Or the ongoing one Catulus Syndrome. Then there is also Yamada to Kase-san what seems to of stalled.

Or there is A Room For Two that is still ongoing but the group doing it has pretty much stopped.

A Room For Two should get an update soonish... I was about to pick it up for translating (We actually started working on it already) when the previous translator messaged me that they already have some chapters about to be ready and they're going to be out soon... According to their words, that is.

Oh that is awesome to hear. It is one my favorite series and it just a shame it has fallen so far behind. I was even looking into the possibility of ordering from Japan at one point even though I can't read a word of japanese. I've also seen plenty of other people asking about releases for it. The series just has a certain uniqueness to it that gives it a special feel when reading that I haven't seen to much with many other stories.

It's especially bad if you more or less know what's going to happen in the next volumes. I hope the translator said the truth and really does release some chapters soon. The raws of all volumes are pretty easy to find only, though. So, instead of buying something you don't understand...

I have looked up some the raws to a certain degree and other info so have a rough idea the direction it goes. It is interesting to see as you rarely see some those things being done with manga stories.
