My take: Nagi takes a liking to Tamaki because she's tall and cool and hot, and realises that Tamaki's friend, Yuu, also feels the same way. Nagi becomes friendly rivals with Yuu, and comes to realise that not only is she cute, she's also funny, dedicated, hardworking, and also a little bit lonely. She meets Tamaki alone, and almost immediately becomes disillusioned, because it turns out that her hot tall butch is also a hot tall player, and she's not as into it as she thought she would be.

She's disappointed, but more than that, she's worried about Yuu, who's invested a hell of a lot more into chasing after Tamaki than Nagi ever did. Yuu knows, though, and doesn't care. She'll work harder to keep Tamaki's attention, if she has to. When Yuu finally runs into Tamaki kissing Yuu, she doesn't care about having "lost" Tamaki, at this point: she just needs to know if this is what Yuu wants, because she's come to care about (and maybe even love) Yuu in a personal way, far outweighing her fleeting, superficial crush on Tamaki. Yuu's smile tells her that this is everything she's ever wanted, and Nagi, who only wants Yuu to be happy, can do nothing but beg Tamaki not to fuck it up.

Nice, thorough take. Basically what I got, too

Agreeeed. This felt so original and fresh. Nagi's such a cool character and I love how organic she feels. All the dialogue has a lively quality of it. Despite hitting a lot of standard manga tropes, this doesn't feel like a manga story. It's so anti-drama and real. God, I hope there's more shit like this. I wanna plug it into my veins like an IV drip. It reminds me of The Girl in the Aquamarine but like the reverse, almost. And that manga is my favorite on the site, so high praise from me.

I read this on E-Hentai originally and subscribed to the mangaka here just so I could read it again once it was uploaded. I really love this story a lot. It has so much passion and the art isn't over the top like it is in so many hentai manga. I also don't know BanG Dream, but the author does such a great job conveying their relationship that prior knowledge of the series doesn't feel necessary. Girl 1 comes home to girl 2 after being gone for a while and they love each other very much so sex ensues. Sounds like a fine enough story to me, and the art and pacing just makes it that much more compelling.

Personally, I'm getting sick of the short, spunky, blonde, pigtailed, "cute" girl archetype that's becoming rather prevalent in yuri as of late. I don't think it's cute, it's not endearing, it's playing on the idea of childhood which is creepy when sexualized, and makes for genuinely annoying and predictable characters. It's an annoying appearance template attached to an annoying personality template that's just unbearable.

Ah Kodama Naoko...

Every time I read her works I hope it will be as good as her mangaka story. Every time I am disappointed.

Also, Kodama Naoko's eyes always bother me. They make the characters look annoyed/disinterested in everything. Honestly, I should just stop reading Kodama's stuff (I basically have), but that yuri tag is so tantalizing, and I always come in hoping for better...

How can you find something annoying and cute at the same time...I think irritation sort of sucks the appeal out of something by definition...

Nah.

@drpepperfan Your icon and the manga it comes from fit your comments so well.

Ugh yeah, reading that story really reminded me of my cats. I pictured people not taking the story seriously because her "big loss" was a cat, but dude that's real grief. I didn't smile for over a month after my cat died and I had him for about the same time period she did. It was a pretty cathartic manga for me.

This is genuinely surprising. After loads of Mochi Au Lait stories and all the yuri here, you think you've seen it all. The bluntness as the end was entirely unexpected and I didn't know how much I needed it. This might be my favorite Mochi story.

I stopped reading this years ago after a certain chapter and just told myself that it ended there, happily ever after, and I will never read further. Good enough for me. There are too many bad endings in queer media for me to want to put up with another.

We need more resi evil stuff on here. Granted, there isn't a lot of femslash art for the series. Shame, too, 'cause there are some lovely ladies in RE. Rebecca Chambers is best girl.

If this ever comes back, will translators get back on it? It's labeled as cancelled in places, so will we all just change that back to ongoing if it does?

@Prince_Anime
Pharah's is a skin; it's the one she got this year. Only difference is it's just the armor. There's no corporeal "body," just blue mist eschewing from the disembodied plates. There's a spray for it, too, and maybe an icon. And I think Mercy's collar and wings are from the witch skin, which she got two years ago.

Was I the only one that didn't like this? From the beginning, the black-haired girl was just frightening and illogical. She only sees one person, and even cares little for her own survival. Clearly doesn't care for her affection's survival since she let her become a zombie and strapped her down. She's clearly unstable and I hate characters like her. Perfect for a horror story, but this isn't romantic. She's evil, in large part because she doesn't see it that way. The blonde girl didn't even know how crazy she was, poor girl. I know it's Halloween, what fun, but I eagerly await some happier manga updates in the coming days of November.

Ouch that was certainly a way to end it

With the whole "that was gross I don't get it" kiss, I totally felt Yuu's state of "well fuck this". I like that she was called out for being fucking weird and not even because she and any unrequited feelings - I think it's a possessiveness instead of being in denial about her feelings, the reaction to the kiss was totally the opposite of what I expected. Like that should've been the eye opener here but nope

The whole winning the toy thing, seemed like it was Yuu's way of saying I've had enough of waiting around for your bullshit and so I'm doing it for you. I'm not really sure where they go from here though. Unhealthy manipulative and ambiguous relationship? Or will Yuu just decide to drop her completely? I guess we will never know.

I want it to be the latter, I feel like the payback comment was a real Mike drop moment. But mehhh. Would've preferred the obvious Emi is in denial about her feelings/unrequited childhood love route

I wrote this up then realized I basically said what you said, so I'll create this as a follow-up.

Honestly, I can't see anything but negativity coming from Emi. That hand-holding panel was pretty confusing, but it's there so it must mean something. Maybe Yuu wants to hold onto something inside Emi, but I don't think Emi's going to get better. This is too heavy to be denial. She's been manipulating her best friend's life for years and now probably won't be able to keep doing it but she will always want to. I genuinely think that she doesn't understand love, and has an unhealthy obsession with Yuu, refusing to let her live her own life. Emi doesn't want to be alone, for whatever that's worth, but isn't willing to give Yuu what she needs. This is a good ending, but not a romantic one. I sincerely believe that Emi is incapable of romantic love (she could be asexual/aromantic, but that sounds like an insult to ace/aro). Yuu's now in control of what happens in the future and we're to view her as the sympathetic party. Emi is purely antagonistic, but clearly provides something to Yuu otherwise she would have dropped her like a rock.

So, we got people complaining about how this is a bad way of resolving what could have been a "compelling" conflict, but I just got a new idea. This is actually great, and goes along with the laissez faire attitude of the story. The conflict of Shizuku coming in to ruin Minami's happy life isn't actually a conflict because of what's happened beforehand. Her relationship with Iori, which was spun to look purely physical, has grown to be so much more that Minami has a reason to leave Shizuku. Previously, she would've been, "Nah, you right," but now she has someone she cares deeply for and knows she doesn't have to put up with Shizuku to be accepted. This is (as far as I can tell so far) a very happy and feel-good story. This conflict is resolved simply because Minami is in a good place now and knows it. Unlike so many other tropey characters, she doesn't hide her happiness from herself and knows what she wants and how she deserves to be treated. Iori, likewise, doesn't have to do the typical beat-up thing because their relationship doesn't need the additional conflict. It reaffirms it when Minami returns, and that's all they need. I seriously love this story, and love it more the more I think about it. Easy favorite.

I also think Shizuku has the abuser complex where she's convinced Minami will come running back, but it's an afterthought just to show that she refuses to move on, which is just another victory for Minami who's grown past that line of thinking.

This and My Ignorance of a World Yet Unknown back to back is numbing. They go on these long hiatuses then come back with these "zinger" chapters that just change everything instantaneously after we've lost all that momentum from the hiatus. I honestly don't know how to feel. My Ignorance makes me want to feel sad or upset, and this feels melancholic but happy, yet I'm just kinda eh about both. Like, why should I care? I lost all that emotional attachment. Maybe I should just reread, but the chapters don't feel satisfying. My Ignorance just makes me angry 'cause it's a Hans-level plot-hole, and this is just synthetic tension that leads nowhere. What's next, is Prism suddenly gonna come lurching from the abyss? (I know that was cancelled, but you know what I'm saying)

I just recently learned about DID, too, and got a little carried away learning about it, watching videos made by multiple systems. At the start of this manga, I was actually hyped, hoping that it would actually tell a nice yuri story about a system being in a healthy relationship with another person. But, I see it's just going for a Split story. It was nice seeing the head space for the alters, but of course one of the alters has to go nuts (which is unheard of as far as I know). There are "bad" or aggressive alters called introjects, which are alters based on people outside the system (celebrities, family, friends, or even childhood rapists/abusers), and they are not inherently aggressive, but have the capability of being so. Like other alters, they want to help the system but just don't know how or are going about it the wrong way. One thing they'll certainly never do is murder other alters. I don't even know if that's possible.

Guess we'll just have to wait for a real story about DID. sigh

Ok, so like, this is kinda anti-climactic, but I love it anyway. Any kind of conflict in this story just stressed me out and made me sad so the happy ending with no fight is enough for me. Minami's life is just too painful and I want her to move on to happier things with someone who thinks the world of her. UGH.

That was the ol' "one-two" right there. I'm weak and the last line fucking made me cry. Instant favorite because of the last page. Honestly, I'm a sucker for the trope and all the digressions are the reason I stopped reading Kiss and a White Lily. This one gets to the fucking point and doesn't string me along, so I'm all over it.

I don't know. Not a big fan of this one, and I know it's not the age gap because 'Beloved L' is one of my favorite stories ever. It's just too cutesy, if you catch my drift. And I'm a little tired of the know-it-all dominant high schooler who puts the ditsy teacher/OL/etc. on edge. Also, her appearance really bothers me. It's so 90's anime style with the long black hair going down to her ass and this demure school girl outfit. It's cute, but like, I'm not really digging it. Guess I just got spoiled from that huge surge of adult life mangas a few weeks back.

Hi, local lesbian connoisseur here. I didn't grow up watching Sailor Moon. Is it worth watching now? And if so, which version/release i.e. how should I watch the show?

Lewd

I've been on this site for the better part of a decade and I tend to ignore doujins. I'll of course read doujins for series I'm familiar with, like Akuma no Riddle and Little With Academia. But I don't watch/am not familiar with Madoka Magicka (don't even know if that's correct), KanColle, Touhou, Love Live!, and I never finished K-On. But, over the years, I've stumbled into a few really good doujins that I just read spontaneously from Love Live! and Vocaloid that I absolutely adored, despite not knowing the characters. By ignoring probably 90% of the doujins on this site, I feel like I'm missing out on some seriously good stories.

Asking anyone who reads this post: What are you favorite doujins on Dynasty Reader? What ones would you recommend to someone who doesn't watch/read the series they're based on? And don't tell me to "just watch [insert popular yuri sponge anime]" 'cause I have no desire to watch a lot of those. I might watch Sailor Moon, but that's a big maybe. Right now, I'm just looking for doujins, preferably stand-alone i.e. can be enjoyed without prior knowledge of established characters/relationships.

I apologize if this is a repost. When I tried posting earlier, I got a site error message and couldn't find this post when I came back to the site later.
