I'm all in on a multi chapter work where they get together at the beginning.

That is refreshing, isn't it...

Well... looks like they got the right educational materials to me...

Unless there's going to be some older (or younger) person coming into this mix, I don't think the lolicon tag is warranted here.

I always figured the lolicon tag was for sexualized depictions of lolis? In this case, there happens to be a naked little girl prominently featured in sexual scenarios, which is presumably part of the appeal either on the author's end, or intended to cater to a particular demographic of readers (or both). I'm not really an expert here, though, since I tend to avoid the lolicon tag, and only ended up reading this on mangadex first because it looked cute. Considering that some readers (like myself) could come in expecting purely wholesome stuff and get kinda icked out by seeing the little kids start having sex halfway, I feel like the tag is justified.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other... The first year could qualify as a loli because of her body style, despite her age being only a year younger than the other girl. Taiga in Toradora is frequently referred to as a loli, after all, and she is the same age as the rest of the cast. However, the "lolicon" tag is a bit off. That suggests that there is an older character who has a fetish for young girls with that body type or a teen who has a crush on a much younger girl, like an elementary or early middle school girl. That doesn't appear to be the case here. So if there's a "loli" tag, that might be more appropriate than "lolicon".

Look, this ending is pretty much of a piece with the whole rest of the story--poorly paced, too much time on peripheral things, unanswered throwaway questions (like, how did Uta learn "what it feels like to have someone like you"? Was it a boy? A girl? A lizard?), and things that might be meaningful but might just be sloppy mistakes (for example, if Reiichi lives in the same building, why does his door not have a lock like Uta's does? If he doesn't, why was he picking up mail as if he were coming home from work?)

The ending is a problem, but I'd say it's just another symptom of THE problem.

The door Reiichi is going through isn't the same type of door as the one Uta is standing at. It doesn't have an intercom/doorbell system next to it and it doesn't look like it has a lock on the handle. In other words, it looks like it is a door to an interior hallway or a FIRE DOOR as they are called. (Fireproof doors that exist to slow the spread of fires in the event one breaks out.) That would indicate that his apartment is in a different hallway or even a different wing of the apartment complex, though on the same floor. Uta and Kaoru live in a room closer to the elevator.

All in all, I don't hate the ending. It feels hella rushed and intentionally vague, but the theme of the story IS unrequited love, so it is hard to say that a HEA ending where Kaoru came to realize just how gay she is would have been at all fitting for the series either. The one thing I did like about the chapter was the way Kaoru's friends looked at her with that "pitying kindness", clearly thinking that she was keeping a stiff upper lip and thinking that "somewhere out there I'll find my prince who will love me for who I am" when she said, "But out there's still someone... someone who loves me for who I am." I got a good chuckle out of that one AND it gives a hint as to whether the ending should be interpreted as them living together platonically (and queerplatonic relationships are still relationships!) or romantically. That wistful look on her face suggests that, once she gets her own crap together, she might be ready to reconsider her feelings and whether her love for Uta is something that goes beyond familial love. (Which could very well explain why Uta hadn't seen her for a year.) It's just a shame that there weren't three or four more chapters to see whether it happened or not...

Don't know why I haven't looked at all these extras before... This is a "take the picture quick before it becomes something we can't post" moment...

Who was that girl at the end? Is that one of Fujishiro's ex friend

Yep, here she is https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/useless_princesses_ch13_5

Thanks! I don't have to post my question or search through chapters to figure out which one she was now...

It's really too bad that Fujishiro couldn't see Kuro's face when she was talking about her. If she had, she'd HOPEFULLY realize that there's more than friendship in those feelings she has.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to start reading this. It's almost as good as Virgins' Empire. (And the chapter listings with the character head-shots certainly gives it the same vibe.)

It is truly impressive how well this manga mixes moments of profound depth and then lapses back to humor. It keeps the mood just right.

Not only did Kase and Yui finally get to spend some alone time together on this vacation (for Yui... work/club event for Kase), but in a few short sentences, with the only real question Yui brought up being the one about working at a store back in their home town, Kase managed to clear up all of the misunderstandings from overheard conversations and lingering jealousy about her roommate knowing things about her girlfriend that she doesn't.

I'd be willing to bet that Kase mentioned the possibility of working at the store in their home town with the thought in mind that Yui might want to live near her parents, but, since they're still keeping their relationship on the down-low, she didn't want to say, 'but I'd be happy to live anywhere that my girlfriend wants to move." And now that Yui knows that the REAL reason she uses that sunscreen is that it reminds her of the smell of Yui's hair, she knows that Kase's roommate might know what brand Kase likes, but has no idea why she likes it.

I still think that the roommate is going to be a complication somewhere along the line, though not as an ACTUAL romantic rival. I think she'll make a move on Kase at some point.

Hm, not okay because of the niece/auntie thingum ...

That is about as far as you can get from incest and have it count in some countries. Lots of places it doesn't count at all- its super tame compared to most of the incest tagged stuff on the site. A quick check shows me in the UK it is not a crime as long as they are 18+ but you can NOT marry them. Check what it is where you are- I wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt even illegal.

Ofcourse that doesn't mean you have to think its ok.. but thats a personal thing- not a blanket statement.

So.... A diddle with the cousins is fine in the UK?...... huh, go figure, explains the whole genetically crooked teeth bit I guess

In the USA, TWENTY (20) states allow marriage between first cousins. Only NINE (9) states prohibit "sexual relations or cohabitation". So, in the majority of the US, a diddle with the cousins is fine... Don't assume you're on morally superior ground unless you know what the laws of the land actually are. Just because US culture looks upon relationships between first cousins as being squicky and strange, doesn't mean that they are legally prohibited. From what I can tell, almost NONE of the states prohibit marriage beyond the first cousin level of relationship. (ALL of them prohibit relations between aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews, though many states have removed criminal penalties for all but acts against children, which is precisely as it should be. They won't give a marriage license to a couple that is too closely related, but they aren't going to bust into their bedroom and tell them to "Stop schtupping your aunt!")

[Plan to go to The Sky Tree next time the "hang out", a prototypical date spot, at least in manga... Not being FROM Tokyo, I can't say if young couples actually go there on dates or not...]
After that, they'll plan to go to Tokyo Disney I suppose?

the chapters are so short ;_; i can't tell if this is going to be a wicked slow burn or a rushed relationship

A slow burn would be dangerous for one of them, wouldn't it?

If you have read the Spanish translation, you should know that Momo has already admitted to Yuzu that her feelings for her are more than friendly. And that she asked Yuzu for a little more time before deciding if she will go out with her or not.

What? Yuzu needs time to answer? Didn't she confess her feelings to Momo and also kissed Momo in the first chapter? Did you get the name mixed up? Or am I not reading this right?

Momo asked Yuzu to wait a little. I thought it was pretty clear...

I thought the post was clear that it was Momo asking Yuzo for more time before deciding whether to commit to a relationship... beyond a foodie relationship that is...

My question is: Is there really anything wrong with food polyamory? They all love food. They all love each other. Why can't they all just be together in one big happy food orgy?

Ahhhhh, hell. I don't like Akira that much. She is so selfish. I want Rin ans Mayuki to be together in the end. Tsk.

Well... you know... in a poly ending they would be together... and that's what the story is clearly heading for from the beginning.

Akira starts to understand that she wasn't really thinking about Rin's feelings and only about her own, while Miyuki started out doing the same, but then learned more about Rin's past and empathized with her, feeling genuinely bad about selfishly asking her to teach her to kiss, though, by that time, Rin was wanting to continue the lessons herself, whether Miyuki realized that or not.

I'm curious to find out what Rin's take on things will be when she finds out that the girl Miyuki was pining for all along was actually Akira and that Akira was really trying to stop the "kissing lessons" because she has unrequited feelings for Rin. Will she feel betrayed by Akira? Will she feel like Miyuki should have told her about Akira when she brought up her name? I'm actually really surprised that Rin hasn't put two and two together based on the fact that Akira is a star of the basketball team and Miyuki plays basketball as well and it was a senpai on her basketball team that she was in love with. (I'm pretty sure she mentioned that part... and that they were going to be playing basket ball on their "date" earlier in the manga when Rin helped her pick out clothes for the non-sports part of the date and then came to tutor her and found her in her room crying in her underwear...)

I suppose there are other first-year basketball players that went to Miyuki's school and are going to Rin and Akira's school, but Akira is the obvious choice. I suppose Rin doesn't pay that much attention to sports?

In any case, I loved the way the end of this chapter unfolded, with Akira's first "lesson" with Miyuki turning into a serious kissing lesson for Akira instead. Based on what we've seen in the manga so far, I would guess that this might have actually been Akira's first kiss and she was completely BSing about her having any ability to teach anyone about kissing, just like Rin was at the beginning. Miyuki and Rin have learned together quite well and Miyuki has extra motivation. I'm glad that Akira didn't take forever to figure out that she is the one who Miyuki was trying to become more mature to impress.

Well, even if Shiho stops ghosting her, that doesn't change the fact that she's not going to be living anywhere near where Miwa lives. Miwa should at least tell Shiho that she's in a relationship so she doesn't try something thinking that Miwa is available and end up causing Miwa all kinds of angst because she was kissed by another girl, of course, would have to tell Saeko about it because the guilt would eat away at her. That would also make it very clear to Shiho what Miwa's feelings were back in high school... or at least it should...

Miwa: "I guess I need to tell you... I am in a relationship right now."
Shiho: "But you said you don't have a boyfriend?"
Miwa: "Yeah... I don't have a boyfriend... but I am dating someone... in a committed relationship... I am someone's girlfriend..."
Shiho: "OH... Then you have a ... Oh...." [Man... I really messed up back in high school, didn't I!]

I never knew this is what I needed, until I knew I needed it.

I know what you mean!

So we don't see the painting?

That is common. You also read stories about poets where you never read their poetry. The artist/author doesn't want to take the risk of hyping the art of the protagonist in the story and then presenting their own art and having people feel disappointed in what they saw/read. It's one of those self-preservation things creators do to prevent looking back at their work and cringing. (The way Billy Joel does about the song "C'était Toi (You Were the One)", about which he has given aspiring songwriters the advice to never write a song in a language you don't speak.)

Certainly no implications about the upper arm feeling the same as a woman's breasts there... nope, none at all!

Author released bikini gallery:
https://www.pixiv.net/en/artworks/84098766

Fantastic gallery! I find it very odd that the Debating Club and Mahi-Mahi are the only ones that got group pictures. I'm glad that Nononon and Yumimi got their own individual ones, even if they were the same ones that were in the group pose. But I would have thought that, at least, the two canon couples (Mio/Shizuka - regardless of how rocky the relationship has been, and Ai/Chi - recent chapters have suggested long term commitment... discussions about becoming a wife, etc...) would have gotten posed together. Especially since the haircut for Shizuka suggests these were done VERY recently. (Unless that suggests something about the Mio/Shizuka relationship that we don't know yet... but they're both giving heart hands, so I'm hoping that is a sign that all is good...)

And with this development, the storyline is actually improved quite a bit. The toxic aspect of the relationship between Liz and her ex is highlighted more, making much of Liz's behavior more understandable, while still not really acceptable, and opens a path for her to push past the manipulation and decide what she really wants.
