Don't tell me you missed the chapter where Yuzu went Super Gyaru and punched Mei so hard she puked up Android Momokino?!

Why are we even talking about this...?

I'm kinda interested in what a super gyaru would look like now, lol.

Good health is vastly overrated. All that's necessary to keep living is good yuri.

Have you tried using f.lux? A little program that makes the screen light much warmer at night, i haven't got sick since i started using it so i don't know how much of a help it would be, but it does some wonders when my eyes starts hurting in the dark

F.lux is a really good program for anyone who spends significant amounts of time on the computer. If you have it set right it completely eliminates the eyestrain related to the standard cooler color temperature that monitors use.

So is this becoming dynasty scans versions of naruto? with people reading out of habit and some still insisting "no wait its totally good guys" even when its very clear its going on a filler ride to nowheresville with every chapter?

I don't really think this is a filler issue. It's more that where the story is going isn't where the readers want it to go. (Or it's just taking longer to get there at least.)

I thought this chapter was a lot better than other recent ones. Especially with Yuzu deciding that she can't just sit back and ignore Mei going out with Sara.

Was that hair pin the first time one of them has actually been injured?

I think in at least one of the earlier chapters there were some minor cuts but this was at the very least the most serious one it seems.

People may not listen but there is still some who know it's true

Yeah, but those aren't the people they're trying to convince.

I give up hope
They won't get anywhere
Higashiyama won't make them a couple and you guys know it.
He'll just continue to milk us over and over again
But nothing will ever come from this.
They might be in love, or something but they'll never be a couple
So I give up hope

Is it just me or the last few days have people been overreacting towards Stretch almost as much as they do with Citrus? There's still very clear development going on. Them actually getting in a relationship this soon would feel kinda rushed anyways. It seems rather unlikely that they'll be in a relationship for awhile realistically. Until some of their personal problems are taken care of at the very least.

Actually, not half finnish. A quarter. One finnish grand-mother. Hence, blond hair.

Was this actually mentioned anywhere in the manga itself? I don't recall it at all.

Yes it was.

http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/stretch_ch10#8 for the finnish part.

http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/stretch_ch19#5 for the grandmother part.

Ah, thanks. I completely managed to forget about that. I should probably go reread the earlier chapters sometime soon.

I love this manga series, and thank you all for your hard work in translating, but its been a while. I hope the series hasn't been dropped.

It hasn't been. Kawaii has just been a bit short staffed lately from what I've been hearing. Specifically in the QC department which it appears the latest chapter they have is waiting on.

I know what lolicon stems from (as Thiaguinho-sama actually explained shortly after this post) but where does the "shota" in shotacon come from? I've never even thought about it until just now.

  • Shotacon = is a Japanese slang portmanteau of the phrase Shotaro complex, is a reference to the young male character Shotaro from Tetsujin 28-go (reworked in English as Gigantor).

Thanks wikipedia! ins't that cheating...?

For some reason I didn't even consider the possibility Wikipedia would have that info, lol. Whoops! And that means both lolicon and shotacon stem from specific characters in a book/series then? That's actually a little bit odd in my opinion.

Shoujo Ai is not a thing, it's a term created and used by westerners.

From what I've heard it actually isn't a western term but western use of it is almost as far from the original term as you can get. My understanding of the term is that it specifically refers to yuri involving lolis.

I read it here, that it was a term created by Americans to be specific, accurate or not, I don't know. http://www.yuricon.com/what-is-yuricon/#whatisyuri

I can't even find where I remember reading it anymore (it was a scanlator's Tumblr blog) so it's completely possible I'm just misinformed. After learning it's not even a valid term to use when referring to yuri I didn't bother looking into it any further.

no girls = loli not lolicon=pedo

Lolicon is liking little girls.

Shotacon is liking little boys.

Both are what you'd call pedo in the west.

Shoujo ai is not a Japanese term for either in the first place.

Though I still think the question was dumb.

Better asking a dumb question to satisfy your curiosity than never discussing it out of fear of looking stupid.

Takemiya Jin is my personal favorite yuri mangaka. Morinaga Milk, Otsu Hiyori, Akiko Morishima, Minase Ruruu, Eban Fumi (for Blue Friend), Mikuni Hajime, Hakamada Mera, Rokuroichi, Momono Moto, Amano Shuninta, and Aoi Hana (the author, not the manga) are all quite decent though.

As for non-yuri mangakas the only one I'd actually put on my list of favorites is Junji Itou since he's the only horror author (for both books and mangas, not even going to bother touching on games or, especially, movies) who I consistently enjoy reading, even when what he's writing is blatantly supernatural which I tend to hate because it devolves into more horror-themed fantasy at that point than actual horror with the majority of authors.

Not sure of already mentioned, but it would be slightly helpful if manga without any posts in their discussions still had links back towards the manga "homepage."

Not sure I understand this one..? Example, perhaps?

I don't have any links off-hand but when a manga has no posts in its discussion and you click the link, there's no link back to the manga itself unlike if their was posts in the discussion. Shouldn't really be a huge issue though because you can simply hit back to go back to the manga at that point anyways.

Well at least you were considerate enough to ask first but it's still not very polite to take peoples' faces.

And about yaoi, I find the whole "balance of power" thing between the characters (seme x uke) annoying and it's difficult to find some without.

It doesn't really help that the majority of relationships irl have no such concept really. Those that do usually revolve around the sexual part of their relationship more than anything else.

So yeah, Yaoi did seem to have a much wider visibility than yuri. Not saying there was no yuri, just that it was generally harder to find and easier to miss than the whole BL stuff.

I wonder if this doesn't at least partially have to do with the fact that there's simply less yuri being written.

It's like an initiation ritual on the internet. If you haven't been traumatized, you have no business being here.

Again, WHERE THE HELL DO YOU GET TO 17 WITHOUT KNOWING BDSM?

It took me a surprisingly long time to really see anything that was all that traumatizing to me when I first started frequenting the internet, lol.

And I only knew the name and nothing about it at 17. Then at that point in time I didn't have internet access so I really couldn't look up that sort of thing.

I'm more interested in romance and how it's told, than in girl-on-girl-is-hot. I found myself thinking quite often that some of the pieces here would have been better without NSFW.

In addition to relating, I think yuri romance offers more feels and food for thought.

This is more or less my view on the subject too. Though I'm not against reading het or yaoi if it's actually decent and there's more to it than just sex. I don't mind sex scenes and fan service in my mangas so long as it doesn't feel forced.

Well, it would be nice to have permalinks to individual posts in general. Don't have that functionality atm.

It does technically (with a bit of an exception) if you inspect the page source for the post history pages. For the most recent post in the search history linked above for example the post is forum_post_49678. If you're on the right page of the thread then it will actually link directly to that post if you add #forum_post_49678 to the end of the url for that thread. The only issue is that you do need to be on the right page or else it doesn't work. As an example this will link straight to your post.

And this is why you come to Dynasty: The Home Of Quality.

The sleazy ad deal and atrocious image quality on those two sites (which were the only ones I actually knew about at the time) are the entire reason that before I discovered Dynasty I simply avoided manga reader sites altogether. The only ones that don't seem to suck in some form are Dynasty and scanlation group specific ones. I'd say Dynasty is the best even ignoring the fact it has a bigger selection than any single scanlation group's reader though. The reader itself functions a lot better in general. Others just tend to put each page in full size and clicking takes you to the next page whereas Dynasty can resize the images or display them full sized and allows you to go back a page as well as forward to the next.

I know that the Witch was keeping her captive and all but...Rapunzel's kind of a bitch, isn't she? Like, she cheated on the Witch, who did truly love, and not only cheated but also rubbed the fact that she cheated in her face by using it to brutally insult her...Frankly, I kind of consider the Witch to be more of a good guy here lol.

How the shitting hell do you find the witch to be the good guy here? She locked Rapunzel in a tower from a young age and in this version of the story she did so to basically use her as a sex slave. There is no possible way she's the good guy here.

This is one of the few mangas that I really liked a lot but can't bring myself to read again. It was hard enough not crying the first time as it is...

Maybe this is the darkness consuming my brain talking, but I think it would have been better if she had killed herself... Just sayin

If you want an ending like that you might try this manga then. Though I'd recommend reading that one even if you don't like that sort of ending anyways because it's still good.

Edit: One of these days I'll actually remember the weird bbcode replacement this place uses.
