Gaji's twitter account shows another exquisite design.
Its mercy and d.va from overwatch. Seems like gaji really like overwatch game :).
Damn, I'm in love with this lady's art !! so addictive
Gaji's twitter account shows another exquisite design.
I personally find Sumin healthy. I really have no idea how you guys define "an emotionally healthy person".
Dr. Jeanette:
"A large part of emotional health comes from the individual being open to feeling particular emotions instead of trying to avoid them or control them. Instead, he finds healthy ways to express his emotions in a way that allows him to assert himself in a way that is less inhibited."
"Emotionally healthy people feel safe and secure with their own emotions and feelings. They feel their feelings and emotions instead of avoiding them or trying to control them. "
Team Gaji won't answer that question. :D
then I will be heart broken and out of cigarettes -_-
I see that the healing is still in process
"still"? How would Sumin be like when you say she is completly healthy? As good at dealing with her feeling as Sungji is, or when she could cut all ties with Seju, or something else?
That it for team Gaji to answer
(BTW, Sungji became a mess herself after the cheating happened.. we can sense something coming up from her side )
This changed Sumin's personality, not healed her problem.
her personality has not changed.. and I see that the healing is still in process.
we are looking at a person who does not know how to deal with her feelings
I think we are looking at a person who thought that she couldn't truly be in love again, not a person who lost the ability of epressing her feelings, and needed someone to heal her not good at expressing it.
dealing with her feelings again is the issue.. the improper way is what got Sumin and Seju in their loop for 10 years now, starting from Sumin's parents death (and her unintentionally blaming Seju for it.. and shutting down) to how she took the bartender incident and then being drown in the past, and being disconnected with intimate partners.. all of this are what I refer to as being unable to deal with what she felt. she just hide and hold back, or make disastrous decisions.
expressing things are not that of an issue.. RUNNING is !

We don't know if all of Sumin's exes were always afraid of expressing their feelings to Sumin or not. Also, I see Sumin's problem is that she was afraid of falling in love again.
I am not saying that other Sumin's past GFs are scared of expressing or had no real feelings, it as MacySan said, it was an active process, Sungji gave an opportunity and Sumin put an effort.. right time and right place.. and as yoonie0104 said, Seju did push from here and there with extra aid from Nammi.
Her not expressing her feeling so much is her characteristic, not her problem. Not good at expressing your feeling is common; as good at it as Sungji is a bit too much imo.
being bad at expressing or being an introvert is a different matter, we are looking at a person who does not know how to deal with her feelings (I hope I explained it in a good way)
yoonie0104
you have an interesting argument.
That's not sth only Sungji could do, all of the flashbacks between SejuxSumin also proved that Seju was also the one who openly expressed her feelings, pushing Sumin out of her shell( the flashbacks in arc 3 proved that too). Seju and Sungji are quite the same when it comes to this and if that's the thing then tbh,
the difference here was in Sumin herself, I quote her words from ch64 "I did not want to admit the fact that I still loved you", fear of feeling and expressing what she felt with Seju is the core difference here.. I quote again her inner thought as she teared and expressed love to Sungji in ch43 "I am miserable about the fact that I'm scared of this emotion" ( a very strong thought with a very strong expression..)
Sumin is just loving the second version of her first love when that love was still pure and just between two passionate teenages. And, tbh, the reason why Sumin pushed herself more with her relationship with Sungji was because she admitted she still loves Seju in chap 50, BUT the reason why she's able to admit it is not from Sungji's actions or love, it was from an action from Seju, not Sungji, up to that moment, she still hid everything from sungji.
you caught me off guard in this one, because I am as you are with this point, I can only sense intuitions of her actions after ch50 but I could not prove them. (admitting feelings is not Sungji's doing as u said, but accepting love is what changed)
what pushed Sumin's important changes on the road is Seju, tbh. Because of her with nammi, sumin admitted her love for her and feel guilty for Sungji so she tried harder for this relationship. Because of Seju's low move of tricking her to cheating, Sumin even tried harder for that love out of guilt. All of the things are not from Sungji's actions. Tbh, SungjixSumin's love is exactly like any teenage love out there with an innocent girl like Sungji. That's not healing, that's just spending cute moments together because they're couple.
I agree in your how it is now between Sungji and Sumin.. but remember, Sumin loved Seju ever since they were teenagers, so this kind of intense passionate love is the only love Sumin knew.. I do not think she herself can ever compare those two experiences not even on a teenager's level.. but is she able to handle such a relationship with Seju again? a relationship with a person who has a crazy family that went far enough to almost killing her!
Edit: for the long road, after a while, if Seji didnt do anything, eventually Sumin will open herself up enough and maybe leave Seju forever, but she will never admit her love for Seju still there, would never tell Sungji she still loves her, all she said should be "She was my first love and we broke up", that's it.
she already admitted her love to Seju in ch54, and told Sungji that she "likes Seju and cares about her" in ch77.
yes Sumin admitted to herself after all that she is "IN love" with Seju, and that girl will be the one to hold her no matter what.. but never felt the possibility of losing her until lately.

I don't find it realistic how a person with Sumin's baggage and her past relationship failures would suddenly be able to change without either of them (her or Sungji) actively trying.
No matter how great a person is, damaged people can't have healthy relationship without trying. Not because of their partner, but because of themselves.
YES, this exactly why we had ch50, and the next chapters when she faced Seju later, she admitted her feelings and willing to love earnestly and again breaking financial dependence on Seju.
but then again, in the process she fell again in denial and ran even more from her true self.. the next time around now shall be the end of it.
So Sumin carring all this baggage from her past, and Sungji simply being nice to her seems very weak to me.
But of course this is manhwa and doesn't have to make sense. So there's that.
Sungji can't solve Sumin's problems nor can she force her to open up.. but what she gave her is something greater, a chance to see that it is okay and safe to feel and express your feelings .. notice, Sungji was never afraid of her feelings nor expressing them to Sumin who considers herself to be unworthy.

for some reason Sumin overcame her depression when Sungji became her gf lol I don't think they've ever talk about Sumin's crippling depression because of her past with Seju. this manhwa has superb artwork but it seems the author doesn't know what this manhwa is supposed to be-narrative wise.
Sumin is a typical introvert, those won't talk about their problems and deal with their emotions internally, if they felt paralysed by them, they will suppress them deep inside, she was and is still doing that, crippling depression in her case will be accepting her emotion and acknowledging them
Seju has all the problems in the world on this manhwa even though she's the antagonistic figure in the story while the main couple has zero problems. storyline-wise this doesn't make sense at all. how come the antagonist is the one who needed to be save and the one who has a lot to overcome? though I'm glad the story seems to be moving in Seju's perspective but I'm frustrated with the way they handle her. but I guess I need to thank TG for adding more facial expression to Seju. any reader can tell what's she's thinking/feeling by just looking at the expression of her face.
If you let go of the terms "antagonist" , " main couple" you will see the story from a very different perspective ( it is a key in understanding why the story is going through these directions )
even that " main couple" has lists of problems that hit its foundation.. but I am sure it will appear more clearly soon enough
while I can see that you are directing the post to MacySan, I felt like answering, so let me know if I became too much XD

Honestly I really don't see how Sungji heals Sumin. She actively has done very little to help her in this issue. She knew about Seju way before, yet her behavior didn't change.
She got cheated and then came back really quickly, not saying anything. They had sex.
the way she talked Sumin in taking it slow with her from the beg, and being trust worthy (ch34), and then providing a safe environment in which Sumin can experience love again (ch 41) is quite healing.
the importance of ch34 is to give something different from what she had with the Red-Head (recall the flashback in ch33) and also different from what she had with the Lawyer ( notice that the Red head and Sangmi are two of the most important girls in Sumin dating life as it seems in ch50)
now, now.. I am defending Sungji.. for those who find me harsh on her XD
about the having Sex right away, I explained previously that people who get cheated on go into either extremes:
a) NOT want to be touched by their other party or even see them ( this one is the most common in media)
or
b) wanting to have passionate sex with their partner to reclaim her, and feeling the urge the immediately reconnect the bridge with the each other (less seen on media, but very very common in reality, people are ashamed of admitting that hysterical bonding exists) <- this is the case with Sungji (either cases do not imply forgiveness, they are both phases till the decision phase comes)
The story moves because of Seju now. Since Sumin and Sungji being the main couple, the story should be written in a different perspective. At this point, to me at least, it would make more sense if the whole point if this story would actually be Sumin and Seju resolving their issues and getting back together again.
ah, Seju can move the story now, but in ch67 till ch74 it was Sungji who is moving things up.. and now then back again in ch79.. one chapter is not sufficient to say who plays greater roles, it rather shifts from on another depending on the periodic spot light.
And even if it is revealed in the end that Sungji was playing a different role that she was hiding all along, it still I not enough at this point.
I do not see her other side ( I believe she has one) is necessarily bad, I think it comes from her being overwhelmed by many extreme experiences that she did not have time to understand or evaluate properly (from falling in love from the first sight -lust- , developing emotions to someone she knew was ready to leave any moment, being provoked by her boss and her GF ex twice.. and finally being cheated on)..
if Sungji gives herself sometime to understand how she really feels, only then we can see her other side.. the justified real non-robotic image.

it will be over in two months.. let the kids play
^She kinda stopped thinking about Seju and started about Sungji. Sumin moved on, it's Seju who can't do the same. I can't see them going back together. I think Seju will either fly to USA or commit a suicide. There's also a very tiny chance for her allowing Nami into her life, which would be the best IMO. I want her to be happy, but I also want both her and Sumin be finally free from each other.
I disagree, Sumin hasn't moved on, both, emotionally and physically.. ( I can list some scenes on which I believe so)
but for now, look very closely at the openings of ch78 and ch79

about skipped scenes, I came familiar with Team Gaji's style, they can always drop hints here or there, but in that particular matter, I've seen more hints about the cracks in Sungjimin relationships (more doubts, trust issues, uncertainties, inability of Sumin to love earnestly as she wanted, superficiality, and most importantly "communication")
I do not want to get to the part in ch 75)
since u brought up the bed scene, now if we connect what Sungji knows about Sumin's feelings to Seju and now how Seju feels towards Sumin (I expect Sungji to realise a great reason of her love to Sumin and stubbornness to fight or else, her letting go.. given that she is already offered by many others a fresh baggage-less start in which the other partner is willing to connect and open up to her. (she receives 5 coffee cups daily + the new team leader hots n her)
( I drove this from bed talk in ch77 and this ch79 restaurant talk)
you love her, let her do her thing while you do yours, not just revolve yourself around her anymore, live your life and all. Do I make any sense to you? I believe this is the best development for Seju, not her moving on with another girl or leave Sumin like she has stopped loving her. However, I started to doubt the author could give Seju a fair ending after this chap, so I put my hope down alot after this chap :)
in all chapter, Seju never stopped Sumin from doing what she wants, even using her as a rebound girl and an on-demand family whenever Sumin felt like it, and Sumin also needs Seju in her life ( have you noticed that Seju knows more about Sumin's dating history and life even more than Nammi, her only friend, and Sumin knows how frequent and when Seju would go to the main house when Nammi knows a little about the Baeks and possibly the tattoo) ..
her need for Seju in her life is the reason why she almost cried in ch74 even though she went this far with the breaking up thing and saying so many harsh things.. I seriously think Sumin feels she is unworthy of Seju's love and devotion and could say why she hates her (look at the flashback in ch56 -what a scene to admire ahh) that is a side from how they manipulate each other. as I see it, Sumin is Achilles's heel to Seju and the opposite is very true.
can you imagine Sumin living a healthy relationship with Sungji without thinking about Seju daily ?
last edited at Apr 29, 2017 10:18PM
Izz
Going back to Sumin x Seju isn't possible IMO. The story is about healing and their relationship became too toxic. Sungji healed Sumin a lot. Seju is still who she used to be, still trying to manipulate Sumin back which means toxic relationship once again. What Seju needs is also someone who could heal her. Or she'll leave, go to the US with her devoted brother who btw should be the one living with her instead of putting her with Sumin. I don't know what game is he playing, but it's not good for anyone.
interesting, the part when you talk about the toxic relationship, the reason of it being toxic is primarily because of Sumin inability to understand her feelings and when she does, she wont act on them properly.. and also on Seju who allowed it to go so faaar out of guilt and need (which then trigger her dark behaviours) , if you solve the first part, then Sumin's healthy connection with her own feelings will eventually heal Seju.
(who does not seem to move on or able to form a deep connection with someone else, I personally cant see it in 6 chapters.. Seju indeed needs to feel loved and safe, the only one able to do it is Sumin)
- the girl is suffering from PTSD, even her brother knows that a body guard is not what Seju needs now, but the safety and warmth
I agree on the part that Sungji healed Sumin in a sense she broke Sumin fear to receive and give genuine feelings
so the healing according to how things appear to me is like that;
Sungji heals Sumin -> Sumin heals Seju
if pulled out nicely by Team Gaji, then the circle of Toxic relationship and drowning in the past will be broken

I was editing the above post a lot.. however, I can't get past Seju's question to Sungji in ch78 just yet.. if that won't shake Sungji a bit, then I do not know what else would make her sit down and evaluate her relationship that we were questioning posts and posts ago.
....
the possibility of losing Seju for good has Sumin shaken a bit.. but I do not see how far that would go yet.
(remember, this is a key thing and was there in her mind since ch50)
...
I got passionate again XD

You do sound like a detective =)))) but well, to each your own XD. Anyway, since I'm asking you about Sumin, I suddenly realise that Sumin's role in this story has become less and less significant the more the story goes. Its now more like story revolving between Seju and Sungji with how they face each other on this road, Sumin is now just the person in between and doesnt really have any significant role for the rest of the story :), how this story ends now totally depends on SejuxSungji's actions and behaviors :). It's hard to say now that Sumin is the protagonist character :) with the fact that she totally lost her important role she has at the beginning of story. I even wonder if this story is really about Sumin's healing journey :). Tbh, with how Seju is suffering, an ultimate healing for her is making more sense than Sumin if this story is about healing or if this is the story about love triangle, SejuxSungji could've stood out more with their opposite ways of facing the problem, Sumin is just a...prize :)
to be fair, Sumin is growing as a person and her in feelings.. which is her journey from ch50 to now.. she went through different levels of realisations, denial again, realisations once more .. from a selfish coward to a person closer to confronting herself as the story goes..
being true to your feelings is one of the hardest greatest hardships that Sumin has to overcome.. being burnt once by that, made her so used to live in denial to protect herself.. even when she admitted them to herself, was not enough to act on them unless she truly has to.. the greatest thing Sungji ever done to Sumin is making her feel okay to feel loved and to give love back.. the growth in Sumin is base of this healing story, without it we will have a half-assed relationship with Sungji and a half-assed break up with Seju.
I love it when Sungji is pushed to do things she is not used to do, taking her out of her angelic perfect ideal world and face some darker deeper feelings.. from feeling betrayal then having sex with a girl whom she just got cheated on, hiding information, enjoying humiliating her boss as a payback.. what a way to make a character grow other than taking them out of their comfortable perfect shell.
Seju on the other hand, is at peace with the fact that she loves Sumin dearly, she knows how she feels.. moving on, not on sight.. and will always be waiting for Sumin. (as great and complex as Seju character design is, she is actually the most consistent one when it comes to emotional growth).. she is already in touch with her darkest human nature from chapter 1.. and well aware of her feelings.
so now, a change in Seju is not as necessary as showing a more refine growth in Sumin and Sungji, character and relationship wises
another point:
one chapter ago, we felt the role of Sungji was diminishing, previous chapter we felt Seju role is nothing but some angst.. it really depends on who appears in each chapter.. but none the less, all of them have changed.. and if one outstanding the other, it's normal since chapters are short anyways.

And how did you know the birthday of TG's artist? Well, so what about Sumin? Seems like if you're right, the other two have shared some connections with their creators but what about Sumin? And if this is true, they might build the characters based on themselves :).
I translated some of the tweets, so I got it was Gaji's birthday.. about Sumin ( I have no clue..)
..
somehow I feel like a detective (I wonder what else should I be doing with this time ..)
last edited at Apr 29, 2017 8:17AM
Are you sure she's not celebrating Seju's 34th birthday? Cause it sounds like it. She celebrated Sungji's birthday with the same manner :)
P.S: She can not be that old @@
They did not get an actual cake on Sungji's .. but Gaji's (the artist) birthday is just two days before Sungji's.. so the cake u saw this week is for Gaji' actual birthday.
Also the story is mature enough, it gives a hints of the writer's maturity

I agree with you, you are very perciptive about the part when Sungji was evaluating her relationship with Sumin waaay back, and Seju's question just hit a nail !
....
Proper way to break Sungji and Sumin is Sungji walking away as u said.. (I've been sensing that from the banner of the arc.. but it is not a proof :/)
Ch55 comes up into the surface every now and then.. whether when u remember a comment like Sungji saying (Things will not end the way you wanted it to) or (you are the one I pity !) ..
So I totally agree with you about Sungji not wanting to lose to Seju as a fuel for her stubborness.
.....
Does Sungji know that if she said no, and Seju left the house.. what will be Sumin's reaction?!
At this point, Sungji is not even able to separate them even if she used her influnce on Sumin.. so the whole lunch thing was not to provide Sungji a reasoning to let Seju stay but a question to think about !
Nora89
I've noticed tho that the writer is a scorpio and shares the same birthday as Seju.. and all three represent the typical characteristics of the horoscope they have.. Sumin is so much of Cancer.. who is so attached to her mother (before she died) and Sungji is a Taurus (shares Gaji's sign)
How did you know Seju has the same birthday with the writer? And Sumin has the same sign with Gaji?
Twitter account, she had a birthday cake on 2nd of Nov. And she is 34 years old

You use "deserve" quiete a lot of times... but I think in reality.... people get their happiness not because they deserved it... sometimes because they're giving effort to reach for happiness.
one of the deepest things I've read lately, gotta quote it for future use. thanks

I have two things on top of my mind:
...
1- Sungji realisations and what they will lead her to:
a) Sumin still likes Seju, and Sungji admits her defeat in severing the ties between the two ch77.
b) Seju indirectly making Sungji question her own love to Sumin "has Sungji ever felt like that ?" -> now its not only the trust issue (Sumin > Sungji) but also ( Sungji > Sumin )
...
2- How did Sumin and Seju actually met and (their first falling in love)
it could contain many unfolded details that can justify the ending whatever it is.
(I personally think they both met during Seju' birthday party)
Suicide isn't healing, it just shifts the suffering to others.
TG said Seju won't die
last edited at Apr 28, 2017 8:57PM
But I'm sorry, I know its bad but why is that when the possibility of Seju killing herself goes higher, I feel relieved? That she can finally free herself from all of her sufferings and troubles? 6 chaps left and here she is, so scared and post-trauma cause of her brothers' deeds. I want to free her from all this and now I even more so lean to a dying ending for her. I'm sorry though :). I want this ending for her, alot now.
to get a healing story.. u need to heal !
let's see the ultimate healing in here :D
