I appreciate your analogy, there are a lot of points to discuss, but let's take it from this approach:

• what is it for Sungji to fight this hard, and to forgive a person who betrayed her 2 days after she gave her a promise ring ! (ah, I know that first love is sweet and all.. but is it love what Sungji is fighting for.. or there is more into her stubbornness ) ..
• mmmhm, well Sungji as well was mad that Sumin did not fight enough, ch59 (last scene) and ch67 (Sungji was angry at her team leader for the above reason)

the crazy part is: Do you know how many times Sumin said I love you just in ch69 (I will spare you from the count)
5 times !!! , what did Sungji say: "it feels strange.. I feel strange" just as much

in no case that I said Sumin was not honest, but it is not the earnest love she wanted, does not feel like falling of a cliff if she let go.. you see, she promised to stay by Sungji's side, but promises shouldn't be put in the same sentence with Sumin!

I agree, she is trying to do the right thing, I admire that in some of her current actions, but is it enough for a sustainable relationship?
(btw, she still deceives Sungji.. just remember the third condition she gave to Seju in ch77, and compare it to what she told Sungji in the kitchen)

about the communication between Sumin and Seju, have you noticed that both of them communicate even without words, simplest example can be found in ch79, and when they do, my god it is full of emotions!
both of Seju and Sumin live in the past.. yes, lately you do not see a flash back, but please explain to me why Sumin insists on buying the house ?

Sumin and Sungji is not bad to be honest, it is off in some areas, that other commenters and I went through extensively.. and it will be Sungji who takes the step, not Sumin in that matter

-> I remembered this bizarre thing from last chapter, Seju told Sungji clearly that she is not playing with this relationship and she is still in the fight, but then Sungji's reaction is just weird !! she is like, okay I let you stay if you let me pity you !!

This is a rather good possibility. And really, the most frustrating thing about this story is there's no monologue. We are always guessing and assuming. We don't have any idea what they are thinking or what their actions mean, just like thjs one. Lol arrrgg

this is the sexiest part.. where we can discuss body language and non-verbal cues, then jump fro chapter to another so we appreciate every detail.

in ch79 (the last one).. I believe that Seju who relives the assault in her dreams went to the sleeping Sumin not only to calm herself down, but also to check if she is alright.. after all, the assassin might hurt Sumin too.
(what an intense scene.. grabbing her sheets and making sure she is alright too without waking her up)

Omg, I thought about this too, but didnt want to say it because it is too much of an assumption :). I'm waiting for more scenes to confirm it, that Seju's also afraid that she might lose Sumin, thanks to the assassin's warnings, we all know she doesnt really fear of death :). But this is just assumption, I'll wait for more :)

well, Seju thinks that Sumin's scar happened because her family wanted to give SEJU a hard time (nothing about Saehyun cursing Sumin for breaking up with Seju) ch27

so now again, they are harassing Seju, and this time Sumin is explicitly targeted. I think Seju linked the two cases in that logic

Sumin knows it, in ch50 she knows in her heart that the only one who is willing to hold her even if she is an empty shell is going to be Seju.

why did she choose to let go all of this after all this time now, is what I am not sure of. (and it is not the magical bond that she just discovered with Sungji.. - in case of any doubts, ch 51 conversation and inner thoughts are quite telling)

Sungji asks Sumin on how to touch her, Sumin was so embarrassed and Sungji even noticed in her inner thought.. still Sumin would not tell her.. and when Sungji was about to say something, Sumin would become even more embarrassed.

You can attribute her embarrassement to whatever reason you can think of.. but rememebr that Sumin slept with 30+ girls !

Nora, with the amount of investments you did for the story, I sincerely hope this story's ending will be like what you expect =))))), no matter how shocking or morally wrong it could be =)))))). Cause that would be a big disappointment and suck big time if digging so much, loving the story so much like you but just one ending that be ruining everything you've been so invested into =))))).

I sincerely admire your memories of all the wdtfs chaps and how you engaged and earnestly talked about it in every freaking detail :).

To be honest, I don't mind being shocked, every chapter surprises me anyways, if it will have another ending than the one in my mind, I will probably still love the story.. however, I still believe that Team Gaji showed us the ending implicitly in the very beginning.

I think you are refering to something I assumed at some point here, I discussed power dynamics between two women.. but then I stated that some women are tops in bedroom and would enjoy being bottomed in rare ocassions if they feel trust and safe (not only emotionally but also in adressing their sexual needs.. unlike being with a guy, being with a woman in bed requires a good deal of communication and guidance), by that, I dont say that other women are less shy or easily trusting .. As in chapter 56, baby Seju seems to almost topping the virgin Sumin at the time, but not untill Sumin's birthday.. she let Sumin take the initial and do what she wanted.
As for Sungji, somtimes I get the stright girl vibe from her I dont know why only topped Sumin as a pshycological reaction.. look at Seju's face when she caught them (Seju was on top, biting Sumin's lip and looking straight in Sungji's eyes "She is mine"), thus came the famous comment in ch70 about having Sumin.

I think Sumin is shy when it comes to her, and wont put herself in a very intimate volunrable situation when she also has to address her needs.. but in 17 years, Seju seems to already know

Sumin appears to be good in languages, specifically japanese as her co-worker depended on her for translation in Japan.
I assume that Sumin knew the meaning from japanese poetry. It will be nice too to see Sumin tell the story.
