Looks like sex is more important than treating those injuries right now

^Cat/Human hybrid, it's magic and stuff. So I think artistic liberties like this are okay personally haha

That aside, Izutsumi is getting the best of both worlds by being a kitty sandwich

^Honestly I was thinking that as well. What relationships count as canon is already something that gets a lot of debate.

^With Genshin Arlecchino could have killed her, but didn't think it was necessary if I remember correctly. Plus a lot of the shipping I see is making a narrative where they fix their relationship, and there's plenty of artists that go for a more wholesome spin on their dynamic. Like even this art imo. Though it's not canon, I just don't think the ship is exclusively a victim x killer ship. I wouldn't enjoy the ship if it was.

With GWitch it's definitely not subtext. Marriage is an important part of the plot and series overall since the start. Plus there's various character interactions and dialogue that further the relationship. With regards to spoilers, The marriage is off screen, but we see them with rings, acting like wives, Suletta's sister refers to Miorine as her sister in law. The director also went on record later to say they are married. I strongly believe that calling Gwitch subtext is a complete disservice to the characters, the story, and the relationship.

I still think shorts are going to be required under the skirt, if there's any kind of breeze that bite mark is going to be revealed pretty easily

I think a "shared bath" situation is a possibility.

stab each other with their fingers

Incoming nipple jabbing arc

Sure hope a bath scene is the maximum extent on how far these go. I don't see how this could be salvaged after an actual rape scene.

One of Wakabas friends need to save her, or someone should suplex blondie out of orbit.

Yeah I'm hoping sex only happens once they're on the same page, and it's a consensual first time sexual encounter.

I feel like if this series were on a strictly online platform, it would fair better. It feels like most of the Korean series I read are long running and mostly all exclusively hosted on online services. I've seen more manga move in this direction as well. The move to Fanbox is similar but without the marketing and website traffic. I wonder about this stuff but haven't looked into it enough.

Yeah physical media seems to restrict access and sales at least a bit, especially when it's the go to determination of success or failure. I think digital is good for getting media to a bigger audience, though I also wish physical didn't seem to be dying entirely. I still love to own series in print, physical movies/shows/video games.

Consider the many thriving and financially stable Patreon's from girls love writers (among others) whose work gains popularity on Webtoon or Tapas--not to mention whatever money is gotten through contracts, etc. I strongly believe writers like Kamejiro would be able to garner a similar sustainable audience if she were given the same opportunity, rather than having a series axed for good. I imagine something like this published on Tapas, for example, would do really well. Those sites aren't perfect by any means though.

I do agree with you about wanting physical to stay but it's difficult. Some of the more popular online releases will get physicals eventually rather than depending on physical sales to exist at all.

I agree, it's definitely a matter of finding access to the right audience here. Since I do think this series has a lot of potential with both it's story and ability to be a hit. Also yeah it's rough when series depend on physical media to exist, I wish there was some way to reach a balance. I guess the main solution for now is as you're saying, where digital media will sometimes see enough success to get a physical version.

i'm so thankful there are plans to continue and i hope the author can get all the support they need. the feeling i get from this that's been pretty consistent with cancellations i've seen is that unless your yuri story fits into very defined and conventional molds it is always at risk of being axed. publishers and often the general public want safe and familiar comfort media so when something unique pops up its met with more caution and criticism.
and as always capitalism is the death of art and what have you

A lot of Yuri media is at risk of being axed in general, it doesn't have the reach Het or Yaoi series do.Though many series get the axe regardless of genre, even for as hugely popular as Naruto still is the creator's series after Naruto was axed. Getting a little off topic here, I'm still more so worried about the consolidation of almost all American media under very few umbrellas. Take even just game companies, if you get bought out by Microsoft there's a pretty good chance your studio is going to bite the dust unless you're one of the biggest devs, and there's other buyouts that are a mess. So it goes, getting back on topic though, at least the mangaka here still has control of the series, and can self publish + receive reader donations. That's at least still a better outcome than a lot of creators/media get.

Edit: Also I'm still waiting on Yuri anime to get 2nd seasons in general, Yagakami genuinely deserves a complete adaption imo. I wish to live in a world where Princess of Sylph, comfort Yuri, and so fourth can all coexist and get anime adaptions with a good budget that adapt the entire story.

Is it me, or do a lot of these yuri manga series always use the love triangle trope. I find it annoying that this trope is constantly used as a tool to entice conflict in these stories. It's overused and a waste of time, considering we already know who the MC would get with in the end. Why not change it up a bit and let them all have their happy ending? Or, better yet, not use the trope.

I feel bad for Jun, even if she seems to be okay with it.

its unfortunately a problem with the romance genre as a whole.

I feel like I haven't experienced the same things from most Korean (and Chinese) series I've read. In my experience, they tend to have other dramatic elements pushing the narrative; and even if a triangle is involved at some point, there's variety in how it's handled. For me, it's not just having a fake love triangle that can be an issue, it's that in a good amount of the manga the fake love triangle is played exactly the same way nearly every time, from start to finish.

I feel like there's at least a good amount of Western romance media, of all sexual orientations, that likes to introduce a 3rd person and play the love triangle element similarly for some extra drama.

It usually feels pretty harmless to me, though it can drag a bit sometimes.

Damn, I'm seeing the cancellation news late and it's unfortunate. The series and the main duo are interesting, I hope the author sees greater success in the future.

About this work not feeling realistic: I actually think this story is quite realistic given the context - they are teenagers who wear their feelings on their wrists and are too embarrassed to speak them out loud. I'd say the only unrealistic thing is how the majority of the cast has fallen in love at first sight, but that is the motif of this series after all... the hitomebore.

I agree, and the love at first sight element even feels pretty normal for young people I think
