I'm torn on this. For what is essentially a yurified Roland Emmerich disaster movie, the induced anxiety is superb and forms a great backdrop of looming dread for exploring the girl's psyche. That works really, really well. But then there's those interludes of humanity banding together. They are probably meant to be inspiring, but honestly come off as rather comedic. (I mean, us being bumbling idiots is painfully realistic.) With all suspension of disbelief spent on the slow-falling rock, I can't bear the second attempt... Then there's the "I want to kill everyone yet end on a (bitter)sweet note"-ending which feels contrived and adds to the mood backlash.

I think this gets better with time, when you start to forget the weird parts.

I, for one, welcome our new machine overlords. Because it looks a lot like there has been a machine uprising, where the AI decided to just imprison the humans and keep a handful of collaborators around.

My take on the degeneracy argument is that somewhen, a QA engineer realized that clothed charging, under extreme circumstances (wearing fleece in cold, dry air or so), can just exceed safe levels as per EN ISO ####:#### and a compliance manager suggested that charging naked is the least effort modification to meet regulations.

I was ready to drop this after the first two chapters because it felt like it'd end up as a bland high school slice of life. Very glad I gave ch. 3 a chance nonetheles, to see the premise getting more important.

I certainly hope that every WikiHow article will have this effect on someone. The chances are slim, but I can hope.

And honestly, not liking anything is a pretty drab and sad existence - only driven by the avoidance of death and pain. If this is meant as an allegory to something, perhaps it's depression? Given the japanese attitude towards mental health, and how depressed people often excel at hiding their struggles, I can see it as more "monstrous" than merely sexuality.
