I don't know what was so funny about "mayonegg" but I laughed anyway.

By the way, the couples having sexy times are available on the author's pixiv

Amusingly, it seems that other than the dead ones and the commander and discharge wives'. Every single women on the manga is a raging lesbian.

Yeah, Mika and her Rivalrun are pretty obvious, but then we've got pairs like lady Ironman and Captain Marina's aide (I've forgotten most of the names), the pianist and Hikari's little sister, and are those the girls from the Rock Rangers??? "Lewd yuri summary of Gamma sub characters" <--absolutely nsfw link to a specific pixiv post by the author

The pacing is interesting here. Was there some sort of time/space limit placed on the series that forced the author to rush the later chapters? They totally skip over the 4 month period of training and surprise us with these upgraded powers and plans. I don't completely dislike it, but the rush also kind of turns what probably could have been an emotional bombshell into a dud since it seriously favors the action and hero stuff over any kind of immersive character building. It's probably also the reason many of you went "what?" when Hikari and Miyuki got together. (did I really need to spoiler that? probably not but whatever.) It was sudden and with no real build up because of the time skip and the focus away from the main recurring characters.

About the reveal in chapter 18 though, I'm disappointed in myself for not seeing it coming considering all of the Pretty Cures have been teams of at least two. It's also hinted at a bit in chapters 3 and 5 (maybe more, but I only noticed because I just finished rereading that far when I saw this chapter was up).

Cute. I feel like this premise has been done quite a bit before, though. Still, it should be good for a volume or two before I get bored of it.

With these kinds of things the execution is more important than the premise anyways.

My introduction to anime (ignoring dubbed imports like pokemon that I saw on tv as a kid) threw me headfirst into the depths of yuri and here I've been ever since. It was Strawberry Panic, and it was the first anime I watched online on the very first laptop my family got.

Sweet different art style.

"...to create a yurii setting that make you fap to it, I mean, wouldn't it be bad to actually fap to yuri" -Hiyo Hiyo

lol on point

Yeah, but not if you're a lesbian no? (or anything similar)

What kind of book is "Raven Rises Early, Sparrow Oversleeps"? I tried googling but the results refer to this doujin instead.

I'm not completely sure what it's about, but I found the book: http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%9C%AC/dp/4106035154
The full title is カラスの早起き、スズメの寝坊―文化鳥類学のおもしろさ (Raven Rises Early, Sparrow Oversleeps - Interesting Cultural Ornithology) and it looks like it's something that was serialized in a magazine and later collected into a book. Here's a Google translation of the description:

Lovable individualistic complete set! Almost like human society, funny everyday life of birds.
Shrike, crow, sparrow, owl, cormorant, goshawk ...... variety of birds who have highly evolved to adapt to the environment, exert stunning wisdom in order to survive the harsh conditions. Emotional expressive its ecology, as we know, reminiscent of the figure of the people. Grave cultural anthropology, from the perspective of "cultural ornithology", a society of birds, lively and to draw Nature

*edit: I would also like you to know that I have received recommendations for this and other bird related books from Amazon Japan now.

Looks like there's a sequel to this one. Wonder if it'll get picked up? The artist seems popular enough?

Addendum: While we can all agree that Mika is channeling Madoka, I think I have to point out that her enemy Etranger is definitely carbon copy of Rivalrun from Majokko Mirakurun from Yuru Yuri. I mean, right?

I didn't even notice. I now feel ashamed for not linking that moon scene together. (In my defense, Mirakurun is the one who kicks it, not Rivalrun)

...While Mika does moderately resemble Madoka, I don't think that's a reason to translate "mahou shoujo" as "puella magi"

It looks to me like that translation is actually part of the raw/original, which would just mean the author themself means for it to be a direct reference to Madoka. There's precedence for it too, just like Hornetman->Spiderman and Captain Japan(lol)->Captain America.

I really like the comedy in this chapter. We can also see the gears turning the sisters towards other love interests. Not that I don't enjoy the incest, it's great, but this means we get double the yuri. I also love the fact that there are no pointless filler chapters even when we do get a break. This one set up the fact that the strongest hero has lost her powers and now there's nobody to stop this new guy who's clearly about to go berserk.

Am i the only one here thinking that this kind of relationship is not really OK?

They both seem comfortable where they are. Nico prefers being the giver, Maki prefers being the receiver, so that's what they do. They both come to understand that and so it's a perfectly fine relationship to me.

While reading this I totally got the feeling that somebody pointed out how one sided the author tends to make things and it gave them the inspiration for the conflict/plot of this piece.

(regarding the tower) I saw somewhere else that a decent English analogy would be if she were building a ship. "shipping" as it were. It's not exact, but the joke would still be in the ballpark.

Nobody wanted to point out the pun at the end? That one about "yakimochi" meaning either "grilled mochi" or "jealousy"?
I've seen it pop up regularly, but that doesn't mean everyone knows it.

This chapter made me wonder if we'll see a pair kissing eventually

I can tell you the answer to that.
Yes, but not from any of the pairs we've seen so far.
