That was freaking amazing I loved it. It's both sad and happy and heartwarming. The age gap and student x teacher was played so well... The blushing and all the little moments. Charmed. Happy it didn't turn into more drama once drama was introduced.

Good point! For some reason, I couldn't find , so I went with what seemed like the most probable thing (had to google too, because I didn't even know rice was polished in the first place, lol) "Washing the rice" makes more sense.

I can't believe Konomi actually fall for Nozomi's obvious trick.

Well, while we're pretty much convinced it's a trick, because we saw her grinning face, Konomi is probably blinded a bit by the fact that it was her first love if I remember well, so the perspective of her wanting to atone and getting close to her once again must be tempting. She failed her saving throw on that one. I also wonder if she's playing Nozomi in her own way too, or if she's fallen completely for the trick...

I'm confused, because the drawing of the characters is inconsistent. I can tell who is who, and then suddenly in another scene I get confused again..
This is especially true for me on Page 15 lower left panel. Which blonde is which? One of them has to be Fuu. I would have thought the other could be Mirino, but Mirino was never drawn that way, plus it would not make sense that Mirino will have some sort of argument with Fuu. Also, where is Aki?

There's an inconsistency on the swimsuit design of the blonde character, as far as I can understand it, but apart from that, p15 lower left panel is Fuu (on the left) being harassed by the two random girls that first popped up on p11 bottom left panel.

As far as I can tell, Mirino and Aki aren't shown at all in this chapter.

Rip can't believe it's the end, totally wanted more but it ended being just as cute as I wanted. Thanks for the trip Daphie, looking forward for you next project if you take another one <3

On the contrary, I think most aspiring teachers (in the U.S. at least) go into the field because they're passionate about teaching. I know a family of teachers (including my oldest friend), who have taught at all levels, and they go through a lot for their kids. Some teachers end up getting burnt out, but I have no doubt they were all passionate about teaching when they started.

It's certainly not a job that pays even close to commensurate with its value or it's workload. Nobody goes into teaching to make an easy buck, especially since it's not easy to get certified.

Honestly, judging from all the war stories I've heard, I think the main thing that wears teachers down is having to deal with parents and co-workers. :P

Oh I'm not doubting many teachers are passionate and go in that field for the good reasons!!! It's just that, as a student, in my life, I've seen teachers that totally didn't care about us, and some that were really good at it. Some that you couldn't discuss with and didn't care about your arguments, and some that were open to what you had to say. Some that appreciated being corrected and wanted to improve, while some didn't want you to fix their errors and would rather teach their students erroneous information, "because i've always taught it like that". Etc.

And yeah, especially nowadays, with kids being kings/queens, I can't imagine the difficulty teachers must face with rules and regulations and parents.

Insulting the scanlators and their work is against the rules anyway, that person is just exaggerating for the sake of being mad, I don't know what are the standard they have, but they're probably higher than 95% of fan translations

Daphie’s translations are always clear, and often very flavorful to me, and her taste in series is top-notch..

Truly a princess of the scanlation realm.

Even if this wasn't a difficult series to translate I'd still saying Daphie has done a phenomenal job of it, especially since the first chapter was done and unceremoniously dropped like it was nothing and no one else was willing to pick it back up.

Story wise I definitely feel the end coming, but I really would like as much of this as possible.

I just started reading this, but does the translation improve? It's so utterly dreadful and incomprehensible everywhere. This translator feels like they are using machine translation.

Well, I commend you for the incisive honesty, but I'm here and active on dynasty (and other places), so I can answer you directly. Except for chapter one, I've done the TL up til now.

I did rely on MTL a lot more back then than I do today, and I did admit in my afterword that it was more than I could chew realistically speaking, but that manga had been abandoned for a year, and I think over time I improved and did it justice. I've only ever been told that I did such a bad job by scanlation gatekeepers, so I'm a bit surprised. I took a look back at chapter 2 and while it wasn't perfect and as smooth as what I can do today, I don't feel like it was THAT bad. Also, don't forget that Aizawa talks a lot of fujoshi gibberish and that Misumi's school friends talk in a weird stilted way in the original as well.

Teachers dating students does happen irl sometimes, though it's definitely weird. One of my friends' parents had a relationship like that.

The marriage fell apart later incidentally.

Most do though, nowadays... So that's barely an indicator. Just the fact that the relationship went as far as marriage ain't too shabby, if I had to say. Unless, it was a toxic relationship from the get-go, hahaha!

I cannot even begin express how much I love Daphie's work, the quality is superb, I love every manga she works on.
I read every single chapter and I loved every single second of it, the characters have so much personality, I find it really enjoyable seeing them interacting with eachother.
Can't wait for the next chapter :)
