Also, I'm starting to feel a bit worried about their relationship. Kasumi seems to put absolutely no care into it, only paying Sakurako lip-service when it gets her something she wants. On the other side, Sakurako seems overly self-sacrificing, oblivious or willing to ignore any faults on kasumi's part, and overly forceful with the relationship stuff. None of that his healthy.
I thought Kasumi was working 2 part time jobs to get the money to move with Sakurako once they graduated, or maybe I'm not remembering correctly?
In any case, Sakurako is not particularly self sacrificing, as she's kind of done with school already, read an entire library, and has not much else to do at the moment other than try to woo Kasumi, cook new recipes, and cook new recipes to try to woo Kasumi. If anything, this last chapter gave her a goal other than Kasumi in the form of her selected university course.
If you think about it this is a yuri couple who are living a very traditional het type relationship with each other. Kasumi is the husband who works while Sakurako is the housewife. She just happens to be ridiculously brilliant so gets bored easy so she dotes extra on Kasumi.
Kasumi has basically worked from the start. She buys stuff when needed and stuff Sakurako wants like that oven thing for her birthday. She also buys stuff she thinks Sakurako needs like she bought her a phone after they got seperated that one time. Plus other stuff she buys/pays for that only get mentioned in passing. She also comforts Sakurako when she is upset or emotional in other words when she is scared or sakurako has a whim of something she wants to try where Kasumi will just go along with it to a degree. Like when Sakurako wanted to make a valentines cake and Kasumi ended up having to eat all her "failures".Just for some examples.
Sakurako is put simply the house wife who takes care of the home duties like cooking and cleaning and such and seeing to Kasumi's needs. The only twist is Sakurako is basically a genius and extremely competent at almost anything she does so she is left with a lot of free time because she doesn't have to spend time learning things. Think about that early on Sakurako talked about having limited funds but while being bored easily and having so much free time has never once tried to actually get a job herself.
If you made Kasumi a man this would be a sol series about the everyday happenings of a traditional Japanese married couple. Or even the same as a 1950s American married couple.
The Kohai pair is gay, but Sakurako and Kasumi outgay them in every possible way
They pretty much out gay every lesbian pair no matter what series it is.
Sakurako isn't even trying be subtle about her crush on Kasumi at this point.
There is no way Kasumi doesn't fully realize Sakurako is in love with her. It is just a matter of displaying her own feelings openly on a regular basis clearly.
Some sleeping pills can have a very nasty after effect where they leave you very groggy the next day and can struggle staying awake. Especially combined with exhaustion from insomnia and emotion exhaustion and depression.
Has the translation passed the anime yet?
Nope. This chapter (42) is in episode 9 from 4:41 to 7:43. https://www.crunchyroll.com/slow-start/episode-9-gorilla-in-a-swimsuit-759795
The anime jumped around in chapters some though so there's been plenty of chapters that weren't in the anime.
Ah my main interest is seeing what happens with the teacher and that one girl.
Has the translation passed the anime yet?
GET MARRIED ALREADY GEEZ... they even have the approval of at least one mother XD
Think they have approval of both mothers. Kasumi's mom already likes Saukrako more.
It is getting harder and harder to argue against that yuri tag.
Ha Kasumi got jealous. Sakurako is getting to be disturbing with her obsession and clinginess.
They are just soo gay that they make official lesbian couples in other manga look less gay.
Peach fell in love with Bowsette instead of Bowser! How sweet~!
Well if you had a fat hairy plumber chasing after you for the last 25 years wouldn't you.
Is it bad I don't know if I'd want to date Sakurako or be her? Cute, great cook, very affectionate and loyal, and loves to cuddle vs Photographic memory, flexible, great cook, nearly perfect at doing anything, and a beautiful gf... (I'd kill to have her memory..)
I... I don't want this to go dark... Lets just keep it fluffy.
I'm really happy to see new chapters. Thank you this made my week.
I just had a thought. What if Touko goes to Sayaka about what is happening with Yuu for help and tells her about everything that has been going on and what she been doing to Yuu. As unlikely of Touko to going to anyone for a problem.
Somebody please confirm this because my Japanese skill is not great. On page 14, the "this can't go on" in Japanese is "dame nanda ne" which is more accurately "I can't do it huh?" in that context and then the "I have to say it" is "iccha dame nanda" which is actually "I really can't say it." These have very different meanings. If how I'm understanding the lines is correct, Yuu was actually considering of backing down again in order to follow along with Touko's status quo and then waiting for Touko to change enough by herself to reciprocate her feelings someday, but in the end, she could not hold back her feelings any longer so she went and took that leap of faith right there and then.
Yes. She says "I can't say it" and then thinks it's fine because that way she will be able to be by Touko's side the same way as always. The translation is basically on point besides these huge fuck-ups.
That is weird considering how accurate they normally are and that they even went back and redid chapters from other translator to fix errors. I wonder if 42 checks dynasty forums and if so would correct it or if someone on the 4chan if I understand is their main forums they use would mention it they would put out a revised version.
This dialog would make the scene even more powerful as Yuu makes the sudden leap of faith to Touko despite all her fears and kissed her and confessed before she could back down from doing it. Then only to think she was a idiot for having not backed down like she thought acting on her emotions instead of sticking to her more normal logical thinking type of character she is.
I've been chomping at the bit for the translation to come out after seeing the raws and it was not a disappointment....
Now how to survive two months of waiting if that is really how long it will be till next chapter...
Loved how nakatani sensei wrote it out the confession. The drama was good for my heart and it wasnt the typical misunderstanding or blaming things on the other party. This is god tier compared to nanashi no asterism lol
Dear god that was one the biggest disappointments in recent memory.
My own sense here is that since Touko failed to go after Yuu at once, things will become much harder for them to resolve. It just felt to me like a classic situation of "You can fix this without difficulty if you deal with it right this moment, but if you wait, it may become beyond repair." Edit: I've been on the wrong side of that before, so I speak from painful experience.
Well, I do think they'll work it out eventually. And I hope I'm wrong about how hard it'll be now.
The one thing the author has been consistent about is not doing the normally expected thing. So there really is no way of knowing what truly to expect.
I really doubt that Sayaka is going to try anything based on what she said in this chapter
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/bloom_into_you_ch26#20
Even if she did I don't see it going anywhere because Touko has never indicated that she feels any romantic feelings towards her at all. She has only been interested in Yuu.
I don't think that is right. I think she is saying she was afraid to risk losing having Touko in her life by trying to help Touko and upset her by doing it while then Yuu came along and is willing to take the risk for Touko. She is saying she doesn't have the right to try and stop Yuu from helping Touko in some misguided attempt of keeping the status quo and protect Touko and the current situation. On the very next page she straight out ask Yuu if she loves Touko then states herself that she loves Touko. Basically saying I am her I am your rival but I am not going to be underhanded and also be your enemy. So they officially become both rivals and compatriots when it comes to Touko. Only hitch is Sayako doesn't know of the "relationship" already going on between Yuu and Touko and to what degree it already was at.
My first impressions on this chapter: OMG SO SWEET I LOVE YAGAKIMI THIS ART IS BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS OOO
My second, more elaborate, impressions:
So, we got from the end of chapter 32 that Yuu's definitely thinking on confessing to Touko, and this one reinforces that. It's really sweet to know Yuu's dad would be ok with having a lesbian daughter,, and it's wonderful that Rei would be on Yuu's side on this. We're all worried about Yuu's confession not being accepted, but as it is right now, I do believe it would be. Touko has changed.
Overall, I have a feeling that there needs to be created more conflict in order to build another arc of the story, because as it is now things just turned out alright: The entire conflict about Touko wanting to become her sister is turning towards resolution, so either we get another plot element being thrown in to cause drama, or Yuu's gonna confess right away and the story will end in a couple of chapters with a happy ending.
Maybe Sayaka could be the tension point? What if she confesses to Touko before Yuu does and the two of them start officially dating? Or maybe Touko will die and Yuu will never be able to tell her her feelings. No? Too dark?
I'd very much like to hear what everyone thinks will happen in the next chapters.
Here's the thing I'm not completely sure Touko hasn't just replaced one act with another. Something just felt off with her behavior. First off why didn't she tell Yuu she joined the troupe . You would think Yuu would be the first person she went to about it even just about considering it. Second did she ever go back to Yuu to claim the denied kiss that was suppose been kind of a reward for the play? It almost feels like a distance has developed from Toukos end while Yuu finally wanted to get closer. Yuu has been pretty perceptive through things and it seems like she even might feel like something is off but her wanting to be able to love Touko might cloud her judgment and cause her to ignore certain things.
Another possibility is Touko is getting caught up in being free from completing her sisters unfinished work and now is unintentionally drifting away from Yuu as she speeds ahead into her new life. This making things awkward for Yuu to be able to confess to Touko now.
We also dunno what happen with that talk Touko parents was going have with her after they saw the play and Sayako is still completely up in the air with her feelings. Plus we have observer boy, basketball girl and glasses boy a whole hate becomes love angle possible there, and even the writer girl. (Yes I'm bad with names.) There is all this still to resolve. Not to mention if Touko and Yuu do become official and come out to their friends, school ates, parents how that will be handled and recieved.
Right now al we got is with this chapter we know Yuu won't be alone as she has her sisters support.

Basic twist ending where Lily is a child genius who already graduated college with a doctorate in something and built Yukari who is a android. Somewhere along the way she moved to Japan on her own and is for some reason going to Japanese HS (assumed HS) but she can't speak japanese. basically just Weird Science where she built her ideal women just for herself but the yuri version..
Kind of sad seeing that Yukari is treated more as a play thing by Lily and as a house pet with no other contact with anyone when Lily isn't there.

Anime's Trailer and also here's fan subs
Seems like someone had a lil fun messing with those subs..
From the sounds of it the people filling the various creative roles have been shown to excel in their various area based on past work.
Bloom into You anime preview.
It looks really freaking good. I hope they keep that quality throughout the series.

I absolutely loved the play. Touko's showing no signs of being disaffected from Yuu. Yuu's caretaker role is self-assigned, after all. She just has to decide if she'll still be close with Touko "for no reason," or for a reason. The obstacles are 1. her anitpathy to romance and 2. that Touko already has a devoted girlfriend waiting in the wings if her infatuation for Yuu ends.
I loved it too. Now that Touko has seemingly gotten over herself, so to speak, it is time for Yuu to do the same. I wonder if Touko reaching out to her will be what helps Yuu climb those obstacles, or if it will be something else. Or if she never will, I suppose, if one wants to entertain that possibility.
Thing is Touko was was always the cause of Yuu's "obstacles" . Because they way Touko was Yuu wasn't allowed to admit to having feelings for Touko to Touko or to herself. Otherwise she risked everything crumbling down with her connection she did have with Touko. Now though the problem is Yuu being to locked into that mind set and not able just to let go plus thinking Touko will no longer be in love with her as she thinks Touko was using her love for Yuu as a escape that isn't needed anymore. Lot is going depend on what kind of new behavior as her "true self"Touko adopts and acts toward Yuu. Yuu clearly is in love with her though she hasn't been allowed to admit it for so long.
The wait is getting harder and harder
But I'm not trying to hurry anybody, I'll wait as long as needed
It's just, y'know, damn
Well the translation is out. Just not uploaded to dynasty for some reason. Think the same thing happen last chapter too.
I have a feeling the person who was uploading them to sites changed.

While we're all here complaining about how yuri anime always fail, I'll just mention that Marimite was adapted into 3 full length series and 5 50 minute OVAs. So clearly there is no hope for yuri anime!
To the extent there is an issue, it's that making a long running anime is always dicey. Getting a single season is not hard, but romance anime as a whole - including straight stuff - rarely gets long runs. Maybe a 26 episode run, maybe a bit more. Kimi ni Todoke got 38 episodes, and that was HUGE by romance standards. Nothing like the hundred+ episodes that shonen battle series get.
I think the last fairly long running yuri anime was probably YuruYuri, which got 3 seasons and some specials. That said, I'm not unhappy with what we get, rather I think the mediums are different and call for different stories ultimately. If you made a yuri series that fit in 13 or even 26 episodes you could anime the whole thing. Citrus is not that, and neither is Yagate Kimi ni Naru.
Don't forget also 38 or 39 LN volumes a manga and a live action movie for Marimite.
The problem with using Citrus as a example is that it is in the unusually situation where the people behind the manga put in a lot of effort to push it and get it visible instead of hoping the story became popular. Even with the anime the author years ago started pushing for a anime instead of just waiting and hoping someone picks it up. Most yuri just sit in their own little niche genre without much effort put in to take them farther. Yagate on the other hand has been something different. It has generated its fame and popularity on its own with story and quality alone without getting the strong initial push behind it. Now it has done something that few if any other yuri series have done and that is to break into mainstream rankings and successfully competing with popular series from much more popular and larger genres. Now as long as the studio doesn't drop the ball with the anime it could be another big break out success in popularity the same as how Tsuki ga Kirei as they have similar more grounded story focused based styles instead of relying on shock and drama value.
This is gonna be a long 6 months of waiting....
