Feels like we are headed for the more open/classic '' it's the friends you made along the way'' ending. Which is certainly fine and probably well suited for this type of plot, but part of me kinda wishes the author will be a bit more ambitious with it. We'll see I guess! It will be adorable either way.

Looking at these two, I sorta wish I hadn't tweezed my eyebrows to absolute oblivion when I was a teenager :( It wasn't fashionable for girls to have thick eyebrows back in the 90's, sadly .

Yeah, calling Mitsuki a cross-dresser might be going a bit far (^^) She's certainly not making any conscious effort to pass herself as a man, it's just how she dresses casually. Aya mistaking her for a man is more a case of her being young and in love and not all that observant than anything else IMO.

Not gonna lie, I was 100% expecting the next page to be someone they know immediately running into them.

It's still my headcanon that their friends all know by this point and are just not making a big deal out of it.

In Shimamura's defense, she isn't all that close with Adachi yet at that point in the story. She's just not prepared for the onslaught of emotion that gets unleashed on her and from her point of view she didn't do anything wrong to warrant it in the first place. Add on top of that her natural go with the flow ditzy/lazy disposition and she's just left very confused about the whole thing. FWIW, we later learn that she couldn't make out most of what she was saying anyway because Adachi was crying and yelling at the same time and not making much sense.
