With season 2 coming out now I really hope that they make Junko (or someone else in franchouchou) canonically gay. She seems most likely if they did, and being a gay idol in the showa period would make for some good angst. I wouldn’t have hope for any other series but if Lily can be trans (and written super respectfully too), then they can write a canonically gay character too.

Glad Akizuki helped Umika out of the mental space she was at. I think Raimon needs some talking to as well, she lashed out too much before and refused to share the responsibility with others. I’m glad Umika is able to acknowledge that her desire to go to space is wrapped up with escapism, but still take the positives she’s gotten from pursuing that goal as real.
