I'm glad the franchise is going in a different direction this time TBH, there's already 30+ years worth of ''serious'' gundam out there for people to watch if it's their thing.

And is she actually still thinking of Mitsuki as a crush? I wonder what word is used and how it is taken in japanese? Crush doesn't 'always' indicate romance- so im just curious if she knows she still has a romantic crush or just a 'really likes' kinda way - she does also call herself a 'fan' - and hasn't realised its (probably) more herself yet?

From what I saw, from the start it's "Oshi", and from what the translators here plus from previuos mangas I read is like a "fave", someone you are fan of; and in mangas I read the fan always were pictured blushing, super happy and so on, but never romantic (one manga even the fan had family and all, their fave was just that, and idol they really liked), at least the ones I read hahaha

Tho, I still think the choose from the translator was the best since Aya calling Oni san "fave" probably were going to be "strange", plus Aya's friends were asking her about "him" in a more "romantic" way.

So! my take is Aya can be in a kinda of "pseudo denial"? like she knows her feelings and that she likes Koga, but confuse "fave" with what can be more~ I mean, yes, when Koga was "he" for Aya, was feeling the same but maybe now that is "she", it can be like those cases in which they think is not possible just because they "dont know about it"(? or a need of self discovery in coming~ . Something like that hahaha

I always associate the term ''oshi'' with the Idol fandom scene and stuff like ''Oshi ga Budōkan Ittekuretara Shinu'' , where actually falling in love for real with your fav is seen as somewhat taboo and a bit pathetic. It's very much an ''admire from afar'' sort of thing.

It's not the first time Chidori gets annoyed at other girls getting close to Nanoha. It would be fun to see it addressed at some point, like Nanoha giving her a classic romantic '' all I see is you'' line and Chidori getting all flustered about it :P

I think it's fair to say that Aya is still very much a silly girl in love and that Mitsuki probably hasn't really caught on yet. Idiot couple tag here we come! :P

Welp, you tried Suletta. Not very well, but you tried.

“Useless lesbians” has just about gone from being a narrative trope to an actual yuri sub-genre.

Romance manga in general are massively invested in the dynamic where if the characters just communicated like halfway normal human beings there would be no story (effective interpersonal communication can be difficult in many circumstances, but in some manga series a simple, “Wait, let me clarify what I meant” would bring the whole house of cards crashing down).

At this point, though, useless lesbian yuri stories are nearly as codified as shogi problems:

• A likes B and B likes A, but one or both of them are unaware of their own feelings.

• A likes B and knows it, but thinks B would be disgusted if they knew it.

• A and B are unaware that they’re totally into each other, but someone else (maybe everybody else) is aware of it, etc.

The issue is that (usually) readers are put in the position of knowing more than any of the characters know, and some people get so frustrated they start wishing for the story to not exist.

It's the same structure as an old episode of Columbo, basically.

There is no progress.

It felt more like a ''spur of the moment'' thing back in chapter 7 IMO, now she's a lot more actually aware of what she's feeling.

^^^^^ Unless I'm completely misremembering it, the marriage is only in order to take care of the kid the dead male MC had with one of them. The women aren't an actual romantic couple at all.

Welp, after episode 7, Miorine could put her science babies in me on the spot if I were Suletta XP This is clearly love.

Holy cow, they're already super comfortable and casual with each other, that was quick O⁠_⁠o Although to be fair, Mitsuki is a lot more relaxed at the shop to begin with.

A date at the aquarium IS a yuri staple after all. Better get to it next chapter , just to be safe ;)
