My guess is, it's probably gonna be a POV chapter just like Seol-a's past. On the other hand I really think No-Rae started to realise Seol-a has feelings for her and she acted like she had no idea. Remember the luna-park scene where Seol-a looked at her in a blushing way and she saied she didn't like these guys at all. Then No-Rae picked up on it and immeditely turn around saying the view was great. The same thing happened, imo in the confession too. Maybe she managed to hear Seol-a saying "I like you..."
It's going to be interesting getting to know No-rae character more. Also, maybe we will have her sister appearing now as well
Keep in mind they're still setting up the characters and the context. Lady Lady are prominent on promortional materials and the OP so I'm sure they will be major players on the show.
I don't think Mamori and Mirei are so much cliches as being "realistic" characters. Mamori is our audience surrogate and she acts mostly like a regular person would do when dragged into this insanity, while Mirei is utterly effective in combat but a pitiful mess at social interactions, not unlike a child soldier would act.
I've been following the reactions to the episodes on 4chan and I must say the reactions are pretty balanced, you got the people in just for the echii, people genuinely interested on the plot and a mix of both.
I have to agree with you that it's just 2 episodes so far, so who knows what will come out. We can't really have an entire picture just from the beggining, so I'm not going to jumb into conclusions.
For me personally, characters like Mamori are not that likeable. But this is personal taste. You see her as more realistic, I see her like the classic weak girl that awaits to be saved. But again, who knows what will happen in the future.
Also I have a genuine question for people who watch it for the ecchi parts (too). I was always wondering, why is the big breast thing supposedly attractive to some people? I can't get it, to me it looks more funny than anything else tbh.
My favourite pair so far is Lady J and Rein. We only got to see them a very few moments but their dynamic is quite interesting from the few moments that I've seen. But I think they will barely get air time, prob 5 seconds each episode or something. I was seriously waiting more for their appearance, rather than care about the main character's story. I'm not particularly fond of the stereotype of overly shy and weak protagonist. And the Tsundere loner, also a very cliche type for a main character
I think problem with this type of animes is that they confuse the audience. Most people come for ecchi, but then there is plot and that can be annoying ti those who only watch it for the hentai parts, who my guess is, they are the majority. People who want action will not choose it either, because someone can not just ignore all of the flashing and focus on the plot. So the plot automatically can be labelled as "ridiculous" by those who actually care to watch it for the fights/ story development. Plots are wasted opportunities in animes like this imo. Just like Seikon No Quaser that had a very good story but the boob thing was really undermining it.
I will watch the next episodes, but I think after some point it will get predictable and the fights will be just fillers to make a show about flashing boobs. A show depends a lot on its characters, and from the few that I've seen, the characters are very typical and overused in anime already
I hope author comes up with another idea than just the ex cheating on No-rae. But so far Ssamba has shown that he/she can write differently that the "norm" aka cliche. So I'm having my hopes up that it will be something cool tbh. And even if that happens, maybe it will trigger Seol-a and we get to see her frustrated and maybe jealous. I like when characters get messy and so far both Seol-a and especially No-Rae have been very composed
I wonder how the story with the ex will go. But I hope we get to see a jealous Seol-a! I really liked the moments when Seola followed Norae to her village, and then after that, when she was inside Norae-s home and she wouldn't let Norae get up from the couch xD
Seol-a character is cool, because even though she's the bombshell and guys like her, plus she has confidensce too, she's still a nice person and does not look down on the rest of the people. And No-rae character is so cute, they make a contrast, but their core values are similar. Like they are kind hearted people.
It would really be nice to see Seol-a feeling like she's loosing Norae and how that would turn out. Also developing Norae's character more, and exploring it more in depth
I have the impression I could rephrase it in 10 different ways, you'd still say it's no good. The cliches can be good in moderation.
But can you swear she's not going to pull an arranged marriage?
Lol I personally don't think that will happen. Maybe Seol-a's parents will talk to her about guys, but not sure if they will make her marry a guy. And to be honest, even if that would happen Ssamba could still find a way to make it interesting even if that is considered "cliche". After all, if Seola and Norae start dating, at some point their famillies will have to know. And we will get reactions from it. It doesn't have to do with chliches, it's the way that things work in reality
I expected the "if you think it's so bad, why do you read it?" and "If you are so smart, why don't you do better?" flames.
That is also cliche... :)
Also, about ^, I think ekw79 was just trolling. No need to overreact like this.
I'm confused about what you mean. Do you actually like FF but find the "cliches" annoying, or you just plain dislike it? I always thought that when someone really dislikes something, they just stay away from it. If they keep on coming back, there is usually something that gets their attention.
Regarding the yuri aspects, I actually believe this manga is popular because there is not a forced yuri action as the plot focuses on their feelings and the way they act. If someone is looking for yuri action, naked scenes etc this is not for them. But I like how the author treats the protagonists as real human beings, and not just a piece of meat like a lot of yuris out there
I actually like how author takes it really slow. I saw a kinda ecchi fan art picture with them, and if that really happened the story would be destroyed for me. If they start making out etc, the manga will loose its shine imo. Because we've seen lots of mangas with fanservice and they are preety bold.
I think every manga or book has some cliches. Whether we like it or not, nothing can be 100% original. There are millions of stories out there, so the possibility that this has happened before in another manga are very high.
I agree that the ex showing up right at the moment where Seol-a was going to confess may be a little cliche yes. But maybe there is a significanse why author choose to do so.
And even if it doesn't, every manga has its flaws. We cannot get something that will satisfy everyone. Some people don't mind these "cliches" while other might find it boring. It's a matter of personal taste and whether you feel like it's getting to much for you

Regarding the cliches. Yes there are quite lot in here. But despite them, the way the author handles the situations make the story real and interesting. Besides, it's drama and slice of life, so sometimes these can not be avoided.
There is actually a very good character development. The story flow doesn't get trapped into repetitive cycles for the shake of more chapters.
I think the author doesn't mention sexuality as a way to show that it's ok to fall in love with the same sex, and it's the same as falling for the opposite. Basically, acceptance of gay/bi people. Or a hope for the future when gender won't be such an issue when it comes to romantic relationships.
Btw, anyone mentioned what is Seol-a and No-rae's sexuality supposed to be? I'd say Seol-a is most probably bi. No-rae as well, although she might be gay too idk.
But I find it interesting, as how Seol-a is confident and goes for a girl when she has dated so many guys in the past.
When Seol-a said the line "I didn't even once/I never even once...", the verb is not specified. It may or may not have been "I never even once hated her".
Personally, from what I've read and interpreted, Seol-a did not hold romantic feelings for Yu-ji. Not hating someone doesn't automatically mean you must love them or something; they were best friends, after all. The strongest evidence for this is the fact that Seol-a was confused by her feelings in the beginning. During the MT, she noted that she had these frustrating feelings, but she didn't know what they were or why she felt that way. If she had truly fallen in love before, then she would've noticed waaaay earlier.
When Seol-a thinks about No-rae at the end of the chapter, she isn't necessarily saying that she felt the same way towards No-rae and Yu-ji. She was comparing their situations and saying that it's too late to go back to the past, for both Yu-ji and No-rae. For Yu-ji, Seol-a never got the chance to talk everything out with her and reconcile. And now it's obviously too late to do this since Yu-ji passed away. For No-rae, Seol-a realizes that she can never go back to just being "friends" with her because she acknowledges that she's romantically attracted to No-rae.
Yeah that's probably it. This is one of the reasons why I like this manhwa. Because even though these particular chapters don't have much to do with No-Rae and Seol-a, Seol-a story with her classmates/friends was very realistic and I could personally connect with the characters.
Imo the situation with Yu-Ji made Seol-a realise how she couldn't hold her feelings back anymore. Because after she got drunk she started crying in her bed. I think from this point on she realized she should act on it too
I have a question since I just found out about this forum. Maybe you guys have talked about it before, but in the Chapter 42, where Seol-a was talking about what happened to her with those girls in High School. There was a girl (Yu-Ji) who was the one who talked to her first and then talked bad behind her back.
Did Seol-a actually have a crush on her or was she just hurt about how they treated her? Because her ex classmate told her don't hate Yu-Ji too much and Seol-a thought "I didn't even once".And then in the end she compared her with No-Rae who has a crush on

Just a thought, No-Rae managed to hear and understand what Seol-a was going to say, she got nervous and she started acting all innocent. Then the ex came right at the right moment and saved her some heart attack xD
I'm wondering if in this arc we will have some homophobic things like... No-Rae's ex will get furious when he finds out about her feelings to Seol-a and... he might do something to her... or to No-Rae...
He has the look of a nice guy in this chapter. I dont think so (i generally think people are good lol)
Alextasha, time for bed
I don't think No-rae has even fully admitted to herself that she likes Seol-a. So it doesn't sound very possible that she would even reveal it to someone else, especially her ex.
I feel like even if Seola said I like you, Norae would just smile and think she means it on a friendly way lol xD
Wasn't her ex the reason she went to Australia? I really like their backstories. Like Seola's past struggles with friendships explains why she acts like this, maybe now we will find out more about NoRae's character too.
I don't think she still likes her ex, but I wanna know what happened between them. I hope it's not cheating, though, as this is a cliche way to explain a break up.
Hi guys! Any news from chapter 48? I thought it would come out today

It was good to read...until things started getting serious. Now that's what we call abusive relationship. I know this is a yandere thing, but still...I can't root for an abusive relationship. :/
I hold Citrus high too. There are the flaws that have been mentioned before but after that it comes down to personal taste if you also don't care and just enjoy the manga. This is why i was hoping for long term drama (= longer manga lol)
Plus i think some people like to complain just for the shake of it lol

Yeah, that will happen in the beggining. But if they have a long term relationship there is no chance people won't eventually find out. And even if they can still hide it, for let's say 2 years, there maybe come a point when they will feel fed up hiding all time and want to reveal it by themselves. Keeping the issue hidden doesn't resolve things.
I totally agree that's how it would work for the long run in real life, just not within the span of this manga's story. But all of it's pure speculation anyway. Who knows?! In volume 5, their mom could walk in on them in the bedroom, and we really would be dealing with the troubles you describe.
Lol true. Only possibility short term is that she she walks on them. But at least that means we get some action XD
This is future drama, but that was my point. I hope that Citrus gets more chapters/volumes than expected, and maybe I was speculating what could happen then (very long term i know).
To be honest I first started reading Citrus because the art is amazing, and of course Mei and yuzu are..well good looking, lol. XD But yea the manga is weak plot-wise. Some times it feels forced drama. On the other hand, I think author can really express their feelings great by drawing them. But this is the difference between manga and just books. You also have something to look at, rather than just imagining it. And most probably something appealing too.
There might be some better yuri mangas out there considering the story, drama and consistency, but art is kinda bad in some of them(well in most of them imo).
I would prefer reading those mangas as a plain book and picturing myself the things unfolding rather than having the art ruin it for me. But that's just personal, although i think that's (one of) the reason that Citrus is popular, despite its weak spots in plot. It's really well drawn. And when people read manga (not books) they usually want to see something visually stimulating too.
Edit: Search up for Nanzaki Iku (regarding the yuri mangas). Art is just 10/10

I dissagree on the accepting thing. Maybe their friends would, but their familly no.
I was suggesting that their family doesn't need to know, at least not that they're explicitly "dating". It would be pretty easy to hide, considering their mom even gave them a bed to sleep in together. From her perspective, she'd just be happy that her two daughters were getting along so well. But knowing how they've behaved so far, keeping the intimacy behind closed doors is probably easier said than done...
Yeah, that will happen in the beggining. But if they have a long term relationship there is no chance people won't eventually find out. And even if they can still hide it, for let's say 2 years, there maybe come a point when they will feel fed up hiding all time and want to reveal it by themselves. I really don't think that characters accepting Mei and Yuzu as a couple is the problem, unlike most real life situations. They are in the enviable position to live together, date, or do pretty much anything short of public displays of affection without anyone thinking badly of it. They're step sisters, so being together isn't really unnatural to an observer, as long as they keep their intimacy confined to private spaces (which they haven't totally done, admittedly). As for the chairman, I'm sure Mei could've told him that she got mad and accidentally tore Yuzu's blouse open in the scuffle, which isn't entirely untrue and would put the matter to rest with him.
I dissagree on the accepting thing. Maybe their friends would, but their familly no. At least not in the beggining. Story could very easily be explored on that way(drama upon their relationship).
Also, what if Harumin's sister will play that part now? Maybe it's not a coinsidence that author brought her in manga now, that it seems like they will start dating. Why wouldn't she get her earlier if she doesn't play that part? Would be interesting to see a drama non related to love trianglesbut based on real relationship drama
It would be sad if story ends just when they confess to each other and confirm they are dating after all of those failed threesomes lol. We would be left with too many plot holes and unexplored sides.
But that's just my opinion on how the story could develop more (more chapters or volumes) rather than just adding new new characters (who are actually interesting) in an attempt to expand it.
Oh yeah, I meant in the story. The grandfather saw them already if I remember correctly but I may be wrong about that. Matsuri also knows and now just kinda deals with it now I guess. Yuzu seems like the only one to make a big deal out of it.
I mean, being step siblings isn't even a problem. The whole homosexuality thng would probably lead to more problems with the parents.
I don't know how relationships between step siblings are handled in Japan though.
I see what you mean, but I don't think it's that simple when applied XD
Remember grandfather saw them and became furius. And god knows what Mei told him to make him forget about it. Or maybe he wanted to forget too, that his grandaughter did something like that. But if Mei was really dating Yuzu, I don't think he would be happy. Definetely in the beggining. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if he tried to make Mei marry a man too.
People were talking about how the story will end. I think that the story doesn't necessery end when the characters get in a relationship with each other. There is still much potential to this (like one example with Mei's grandad)
Matsuri could just be in the daily story not like an antagonist (that issue is resolved) but maybe adding some spice into it? You know, those side characters that make the story more interesting.
Also, Saburo Uta's style is to add new characters, make a drama out of it, and then resolve it. Maybe she tries to expand the story by this way? All I am saying is, there are some ways for the manga to be longer, and without new characters coming and going all the time.
And by the looks of the new chapter, it could be an indication that there is some potential for the manga to head this diretion too.

Remember, they are still step sisters
Does anybody even care about that anymore? I thought that was resolved after like the first two chapters.
I wasn't reffering to the readers, rather than the character on the manga.
I think if they seriusly started dating, their parents would eventually find out. And there would definetely be some drama there, especially from Mei's grandpa.
Plus it's Japan, when relationships like this are not (mostly) welcomed. I am talking about storyline expanding.
About Chapter 16, there is always the possibility that when (or if?) these two get together manga ends here, however it would be a nice surprise to watch it expanding more after it too. I have some hopes, because in the new chapter, Harumin's sister will apparently be teaching in their school. She seems strict and already has her eyes on Yuzu.
Maybe if Yuzu and Mei start dating, we could be facing the next step of their relationship; being accepted by society and their school. There is still LOT more to this, rather than just started dating and then everything's fine. Life after relationship is longer than the first steps.
Remember, they are still step sisters and them dating would be a huge mess (most probably) by their parents, and i think especially Mei's grandfather.
Honestly, it even could take the turn where he tries to force her into marring an (older) man or he disowes her from everything (a darker twist, i wouldn't mind seeing, cause hey those things happen too).
Plus we haven't seen their parents much either. There are still so many possibilities, but of course that depends on the author. I think Saburuta could keep some of the old characters and start working with them, instead of keeping them for 3 chapters and then all over again. Side characters like Harumin, Matsuri, the twins and Granpa are interesting enough already and they could help expanding on the story if the author works with them too. Could make the manga much longer too :D

That would be really cool actually..if Nina was indeed that girl from the manga and not just a character the author used again. Like, Nina was starring at those mangas and that's why she and her sister are so open on the girl on girl relationship, lol.
I hope we don't get a real incest though. I mean Yuzu and Mei are not really sisters, but an actual incest would ruin it (at least for me)
I wonder, if this manga ever gets an anime adaptation, how long it would be. But I think one chapter is too short to be one episode...unless they add some extra stuff in them, like exploring the side characters more, or showing how the girls spend their free time outside school/ going out. It would be cool :D Oh well maaybe one day...
Is pretty obvious she's interested on Sara
Oh I missed the twincest? Damn i'm getting old
Lol I don't think Nina likes her sister that way... :P
Btw guys..I remeber this page in manga http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/citrus_ch04#9
and the girl in Yuzu's magna looks like Nina 0.0
