Marisa's intentions are vague enough to support either interpretation. Will she end up remaining an ordinary magician until she dies of human lifespan/frailty, or find a method of immortality she likes enough to commit to?

And if that means she does become a youkai, is there a statute of limitations on being born a human in the human village such that a decade or two spent as a crazy forest witch first would make it acceptable? It's rather nebulous and open to speculation.

I find this work interesting because of the inclusion of Marisa's usually absent mother. It seems to have her find out that Reimu specifically ended her late enough in life that they were already friends and she already understood how things work. So instead of any long term efforts to avenge that, Marisa takes a 'that's just how things are' mentality. If she continues on her path long enough, she and her best friend will have to fight to the death over it and that's just life. As far as angst goes, it comes across as a very dry sort. She's not dreading that day nor trying to make the most of the time before it, merely acknowledging the inevitable before progressing as she otherwise would.

I like that even though the article itself notes it is to the surprise of no one, Aya still put it front and center. Also the 'get a room' in the corner of the diagram.

A theory that came to me out of the blue, but I'm not super attached to: Chiyo isn't a normal cupid because she's the Goddess of Love's rebellious daughter. Never been mortal, so no desire for the prize of cupiding, it's more like the family business she's going to be a part of whether she likes it or not. So to heck with that! Do stunts and pick fights with the employees for fun! Meanwhile mum takes a hands off approach and hopes she'll get it out of her system after a few decades/centuries.

Whether Reimu is being genuine or tsun here, I feel the safe bet is to blame Yukari.

Missing 'astronomically large size gap'. Joking aside, could be some kind of avatar or spiritual embodiment.

Think I'd half written a post sometime (ended up getting eaten by a browser crash) wherein I theorized little Michi was a sentient guardian that real Michi poured her memories into intentionally (or accidentally while making it as strong as possible) to guard Aizawa while she wraps up her ghostly business of finishing out the school year, which normally would be a perilously long time for a ghost to linger without becoming twisted or coming to a bad fate. This made me think that more strongly.

Jiang is mostly depicted as oblivious to deeper emotional complexities, but page 5 of the latest made it look like she was intentionally winding Shen up. "Exceptionally helpful" indeed.

Ganbare Shamiko, There are plenty of magical girls out there who'd tell you it's a perfectly normal impulse to want to lovingly caress your rival's neck.

I don't think Kanna is going to get shipped with her, it feels like she's more of the 'motherly senpai' for the new cupid to me. Which I realize doesn't preclude shipping, but I don't see that yet.

I honestly don't feel like it's going to be the case, but I really wouldn't mind the coma theory put forth earlier being the ending. They could even do like the wizard of oz movie, have the cupids be people she's been around. Have say Kanna be a nurse at the hospital, Chiyo or Ena be a paramedic that brought her in and the other be a long term patient or something.

The little wing designs on the back or her disguise reminds me of Heaven's Design Team doing a similar thing with their angels.

And by doing a fistfight here, we don't get the plothole of our protagonist not understanding what happens when cupid shoots cupid until the (some time later) of chap. 0. Look forward to seeing where this goes, and if Koharu is tempted to talk to Aki as herself, without apparent oversight.

Honestly, I wouldn't even call it jealousy to get miffed that your SO keeps inviting other people into couple time, especially for someone like Bocchi who barely feels at ease with just herself and those she's close with around, never mind the 'we had plans but you just agreed to go do this other thing' situation.

Granted, the sentiment of 'try to not smile so adorably in public, 'cause then other people will fall for you' is definitely proper jealousy. But Hitori doesn't push it and as a whole this draws pretty well on their characterizations such as to be believable. Bocchi's anxiety and catastrophizing would undoubtedly extend into her headspace about her relationship were she in one, and Kita is enough of a habitual people pleaser that I could see her having difficulty prioritizing her dates over other people's requests.

In summation, I find this work both cute and plausible.

I can only imagine the company behind the Maidenless Ice Cream depicted here decided they wanted to be the face of lonely depression binges. Bet they do valentines day sales and everything.

I mean, Ch. 69 does have Mao asking Aya if she knows if Narita is with anybody at present, sooo...

Nice to see Mitsuki realize she's got a friend group now. Guy from page 2 is lucky Aya didn't show up a moment or two earlier.

So someone put Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Demon Girl Next Door into a blender and we get this. 'Miss Yashiro's Demon Roommate'?

Yeah, Aki's confession caught her completely flat-footed. A lot of these sorts of stories go the with the idea that the second girl is secretly or subconsciously into the first, but that doesn't seem like the vibe at play here. If she'd had time to consider the idea and feel things out in that context, maybe she would have ended up in a relationship with Aki, but any romantic affection on her part would need to get built from the ground up to get there. Or at least that's how it looks to me.

I'm surprised that you get reincarnated back at the age when you originally died, even if the world moves on while you're dead. I wouldn't think you'd get to keep your original looks, and throwing people back into the mortal realm with memories of supernatural shenanigans seems not conducive to such things staying mystical and mysterious. So that detail just makes me more curious about how the arrangement actually works.

I didn't really expect them to reunite in any true or meaningful manner. The most I'm expecting is Aki getting a fleeting glance at Koharu, perhaps as she asks herself if it's really okay to move on.

Bocchi can keep it together since they're both wearing mittens.

Or, once she finishes doing the things that made her mark on history, she just retires quietly to the future with her wife and child.

Based on the expressions I'm guessing Bocchi was leaning in to look at Kita's workbook, and Kita just went for it. In a few seconds they both might start sputtering nonsense, but for now all is right with the world.

On one hand, sucks to lose their 'just the two of us' space at school. On the other hand, I can understand the authorities looking askance at a two person club whose activities are safely summed up as 'whatever we feel like'. Definitely feels like they intend to continue to expand the cast of quirky weirdos by folding members of the shut down clubs into the subculture club. Likely the ones that don't go 'ah well, the jig is up' and actually push back will be rewarded with escaping the cleaning committee.

Pretty sure it's the (by no means inherently bad) cliche of 'the thing she's talking about doesn't really interest me, but listening to a person I like go on at length on a topic they're passionate about is nice'.

"...really?"

"Anyone can make chocolate, so I decided to make chocolate utterly indistinguishable from mushrooms until you bite into them!"

"Huh. That seems like a lot of extra effort to go to."

"Of course I should warn you that I lost track of which was which and the mushrooms I was modelling the chocolate after ended up in the box. So uh... look forward to the surprise?"

I had already filed this as 'Dead Like Me', but cupids instead of reapers in my head. Seeing the protagonist's abrupt death only makes me consider it more, despite the differences. And now I'm imagining a comical bit with a half dozen sets of different behind-the-scenes invisible to normals type people, each with their own esoteric and fateful purpose. Cupids and reapers and guardian angels and whatever else just awkwardly acknowledging eachother's presence while the actual living people are almost crowded out visually and entirely unaware.

If not for the Kitattack drawing Nijika's gaze away, Bocchi wouldn't have been able to close the final distance. Good teamwork all around.

What I find interesting is that in most media and so forth getting shot by the local cupid type of thing is full on love-of-your-life you don't get over it kind of love, whereas here it seems that if it stays one sided long enough, one can. Makes some of the collateral damage of cupid fights less tragic, I suppose.

Also worth noting that OG Cupid had two kinds of arrows; the lead ones either ended love or made someone outright dislike a person. Makes me wonder if there will be anti-cupids or fallen ones consumed by their jealousy later on.

Nice little headcanon, brainrot or not. Occasions like this, where a situation goes from 'the joke is no one knows their name' to 'the person in question considers the title a vital part of their life, no less valuable or essential to them than their actual name' and that's why everyone calls them by it are interesting.
