This is one of the best portrayals of that specific feeling of grief for a kid I've seen. The immediate hit of regret from taking things too lightly, the emptiness, that indifference to people shallowly consoling you, the anger, the frustration born from being incapable of understanding, and there's that final kick of guilt and regret for not trying harder when you finally process what happened. The award makes sense.

Just woke up and I'm convinced that the last pages was a dream. She finished the book, they read it together, and they both continued to make comic books together in school. They are both happy, healthy, and alive at present.

Watanabe thinks of herself as basically an outsider and seeing the others show genuine care and concern for her makes this an A++ grade chapter. Kinda funny and endearing that the others just think she behaves uniquely.
