That's something I've been curious to know, too. I'd like to believe it's the latter. They gave them a beat down and took/destroyed the transformation stars. It could very well be what another poster pointed out as a possible explanation behind all of this:
Killing could then be considered going too far and measures would've had to be taken rather than ignored.
Perhaps they haven't killed yet but there is a fear that the current Evil Magic Girls under Lord's leadership may cross the line. It could be the reason why Venalita recruited Utena and is quickly building her army of mischievous maidens.
It's unlikely for fictional couples to sit down and talk about their problems together seeing as the conflict is intensified by lack of communication. In Yamada's case, talking wouldn't really help since her inferiority complex is severe. Though it's not completely unfounded. Kase is busy with training. They hardly ever spend time with each other. Kase is surrounded with women that harbor the same interests and has a roommate who is getting to know her possibly more than Yamada is. It's understandable that Yamada's feeling this way.
Though the fact that she was able to focus on the Portucala means that she is indeed growing. She might not be getting rid of her anxieties but she's maturing and becoming better equipped with handling her feelings. It's nice to see that she's not dwelling but nor is she forcing her self to overcome her concerns. It's all coming together naturally for her... though I still wish she and Kase would talk together about their future.
I wouldn't be surprised if Kase offhandedly mentioned the company runner thing and forgot about it. I mean, I know she loves to run but perhaps she'd be more suited to become a gym teacher or a coach if she's unable to become a professional athlete.
Does this mean we will finally see an end to the Yoru arc? Or will Yoru's POV, which I'm assuming is coming next chapter since she visited Sei, complicate matters for Sei more? Sei seems like the much more twisted version of Joseph Gordon Levitt in 500 Days of Summer. I think she's just been holding on to the good parts, how nice it was to be with Yoru, how Yoru was 'kind' to her, all the good things she associates with her experience with Yoru, that she's completely ignored all the negative feelings associated with unrequited love and essentially the less desirable aspects of Yoru as well. It doesn't help that she's been unable to move on because it's hard for her to pursue a relationship that would actually make her happy. Her preference has to be a secret and has been a source of mockery/disdain for her. She tried to be what was accepted in society but that didn't work.
I'm happy Aya finally took a stand. I do not think she will become like this twisted Sei that we know and use Haruki to try to forget seeing as she knows first hand what it's like to be just a body to warm your beloved's bed.
Am I the only one wondering if Sei/Sakai arc will come up again?
True, if her bullying continued it might have intensified to the whole 'now strip' bit, its very bully..... It went from wholesome to almost rape pretty quick tho... Didn't see that coming
Since Kirigaya is gay then yes to the stripping. I get why it seems like it escalated to rape fairly quickly but I imagine that's probably why that one dude knows Tadokoro from middle school. That little bit of history connects them and the knowledge of Kirigaya alludes to the possibility that rapist dude participated in Kirigaya's bullying sessions. Combine that with the fact that he is a horny high schooler who now finds Tadokoro attractive, the rape attempt doesn't seem that far fetched to me.
Am I the only one who thinks Sakurako probably bought the publishing company, fired/beat the editor dude, and that's why she left?
Also, I think sh*tty behavior isn't just reserved for men in this manga. There was that one bully who wanted to throw juice at Tadokoro that was deflected by Sakurako - and yes it was just typical bullying but who knows how physical things could have gotten if Kirigaya didn't intervene.
Kirigaya herself wasn't afraid to get physical before she reformed. She shoved Tadokoro to the floor. It might not seem like a big deal compared to what these guys are doing but Kirigaya probably used to hurt Tadokoro when they were in middle school. That one guy went to middle school with them, knows Kirigaya's reputation when it comes to Tadokoro, and probably witnessed how Tadokoro just took it so that's why he thinks he can get away with doing these things. Kirigaya's actions probably would have escalated too if she were still a bully.
I really like the pacing of this and how the 'reveal drama' wasn't drawn out for long. The time they spent together allowed for them to get to know each other and fall for one another. They have misunderstandings but they actually talk to each other. I love that Ookuma isn't forcing herself to become Kanda's ideal like some girls do in their first relationships. She stays true to who she is. I like how Kanda accepts Ookuma's quirks and her naivete and doesn't mock her for it.
I wonder how much the outside world will influence their relationship? Kanda's friends will probably be okay with them but what about Ookuma's? And will their families be okay with their love?
This didn't really come off as sweet to me. I think the longer the lying went on, the more I couldn't get fluffy feelings from this manga. She just accepted that her partners has been lying to her? What a doormat. Toxic behaviour.
I think the whole point is that the 'lie' doesn't really matter to Ookuma. Ookuma accepts Kanda no matter what she is because she's in love with Kanda for who she is. It all boils down to them loving each other regardless of gender.

Morinaga gotta go slow as to not spook the baby gay Sakurai!
I know someone said stalker alert but it just made me feel for Honda even more... she has always been in love with Sakurai but never had the courage to do any thing about it. Though I kinda had a feeling this was the case since we knew they went to the same middle school.
I hope Airi figures out its Yoshimi... They can battle for most twisted. Plot is thickening and so is the kink! I wonder if Hina is going to assert her self a little more now? She seems to like that little display of 'vulnerability' from Airi. Perhaps they will venture onto a healthy and mutually beneficial BDSM relationship but it seems like it'll be a while before they'll continue with their sessions.
Airi's friends are really going out on the limb for her, especially twin tails. I mean people are already assuming they're in on it but twin tails is still holding out hope on denial train. The other two seem like they're scared to say any thing which is understandable, they did see Airi choke a girl.
I hope we're shown how Yuu reacts to this, whether or not she'll be on the side who thinks Hina's being bullied or that she's into it.
Honestly, Yoshimi should have taken a video so it'll be more concrete and indisputable. She was stalking them long enough and had plenty of opportunity.

Airi enjoys Hina's pain, but I think Airi enjoys the fact that Hina "endures" for Airi specifically more than anything else.
Definitely this. It's why she gets off on the blindfold thing. Airi loves watching Hina endure the mental and emotional suffering/suspense of not knowing if Airi abandoned her, but still sitting there and obeying her anyway. It's the way that Hina values Airi's commands over Hina's need to escape whatever pain she's going through
I understood that but I mean if someone else (impossible I know) were to show that same Hina level devotion to Airi, would she still pick Hina or just go to town on the two sacrificial lambs? Right now, Hina's the only candidate so it's like Airi doesn't have a choice but if she did, would it still be Hina? I guess what I want is for Airi to choose Hina over all.... I really want her to value Hina.
It seems like Hina might try to accept all the blame. I can picture her bending over backwards trying to convince every one she made Airi do it....
Though what the glasses girl did to airi is pretty awful and it’s terrible to go through, Airi deserves to have consequences. She’s just been using Hina this whole time and though I do think she cares about her in some way, her thinking is pretty twisted and she seems to have no concern over Hina’s well being. Hopefully she’ll become a better person because of this and start to genuinely care about Hina. I just hope glasses girl doesn’t do anything Like this to Hina, too
Imagine if Yuu tries this with Hina because she actually has a crush on Hina? That combined with Yuu being into BDSM and leaving Yoshimi behind after finding out she was the one who spread the photos would be the biggest middle finger to Yoshimi's selfish face.
Airi seems like she's a little late in the 'feelings' game. I think she's starting to realize how much she needs Hina or at the very least, the things she does to Hina. Their 'play time' serves as an escape from her having to parade around in that pristine image she's built for her self and Hina is the only person she can be her true self with. Maybe she can appreciate Hina more – though I doubt that’ll happen.
That baby chapter with nipple sucking seems like it did something to her and it was weird /unrecognizable so she immediately stopped Hina which could mean she hasn't experienced (and she may never depending on what the author wants) sexual desires. I feel really bad for Hina’s holes if she ever gets there… though hopefully a sexual awakening can open Aira’s world to learning about different pleasures she can have and remove her focus on Hina’s pain. Like I know it’s a loooooong shot but maybe she’ll come to like Hina’s orgasm face more than her tormented face??
Though I'm not too sure whether it's been touched on, but does Airi just get her giggles off of causing any one pain or just Hina?
Any way, Yoshimi’s a bigger asshole than Airi for me. True Airi is taking advantage of Hina’s love but Yoshimi saw her getting choked and her first reaction is to think about whether Hina was getting bullied and whether or not she should get a teacher? A truly compassionate human would have yelled stop on instinct but the fact that she was thought processing instead of charging in there to save Hina just means she’s probably always hated the fact that Hina is friends with Yuu.
Yoshimi is clearly vindictive, taking pleasure in Hina’s downfall because she’s angry Yuu and Hina hung out.
If it were really just about Yuu then she could have anonymously sent Yuu the photo but no, she wanted to publicly shame Hina probably as a way to flaunt her superiority as the better candidate as Yuu’s only friend.
Kudos to Airi’s friends though. They’re at least trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and want to hear her side it seems…. Airi doesn’t really deserve these people.
I think Haruki has slightly given up on Aya. will considering how Sei & Haruki acted when they finally met in person I wouldn't be surprised if she would still be little bit mad about that. Aya did enter school grounds without permission, she probably stop Aya so it wouldn't escalate further from telling off two rude high school girls, to a catfight.
If she had said ‘don’t, you’ll get in trouble’ then I’d be more likely to think she’s protecting Aya. But from how she regrets walking that route to how she specifically tells Aya it’s none of her business leads me to believe that it’s just classic Haruki, inserting her self in Aya’s business because she thinks she knows better but mostly it’s because she wants to keep Aya for her self.
For me the word choice and Haruki’s actions are meant to further press separation between Aya and Sei.
The whole mind your business thing would be fine if she didn’t know about Aya and Sei but she does because she couldn’t mind her own business and peaked at Aya’s phone (probably why I can’t take her seriously about what she says to Aya).
She has a relationship with Aya as her childhood friend and that’s why she believes she can butt in but she knows Sei and Aya also have something going on between them so she can’t exactly say that what happens to Sei is ‘none of Aya’s business’. And honestly, your friend gave up her virginity to this woman, Sei clearly means something to Aya.
Granted I know the endgame will probably be her letting go, I don’t think she’s quite reached that level yet. Especially since she thinks Sei is scum so she wouldn’t ‘give’ Aya up to someone who she feels is beneath her.
I picture her having a ‘Why her and not me?!’ in front of Aya’s face moment before she fully lets Aya go.
That’s just my reading of it though. I could totally be wrong.
I don't think she'll do something like that
I think it all depends on the length of the series- longer means more drama after all.
I think you misinterpreted of what I meant, what i mean is a after finally have a long heartfelt talk than time skip with the both of them are together & better than how they originally started out.
Yeah, thought you meant separated time skip. Maybe a short time skip of them established but then we see things like Sei having to excuse her self from family dinners because her mom is still badgering her about a boy friend and then Aya’s absent mom notices that Aya hasn’t been home.
That happens to of us we all read too much into things .
A part of me just wants to wait and binge when it’s all done but I can’t stop my self! It’s too good.
Ha I didn't realize that until you said that & your right.
The characters are just soooo engrossing.
Dang. I wish for confessions of love from Ayano and Yuki but most likely just going to get ‘deepening of friendship’ speech... at this rate the extras are going to get with each other before Ayano and Yuki confess or even before Kozue and Mimika kiss.
I hope Ayano can show Yuki and prove to her mother in law that she loves Yuki no matter what!
I agree i prefer Aya & Sei to have nice long talk on what they both really want for their relationship.
Sei needs to fully close the door on Yoru and show Aya she’s her one and only; not out of lack of choice but because she loves her. When that happens, Aya will stop what little emotional resistance she’s been putting up and finally offer what Sei has been denied all these years, love and affection.
A 4th volume would be good too, & yes Sei definitely need's closure on that one-sided love. Than Aya & Sei can finally have a actual relationship founded on mutual love not just on lust. Haruki is already starting to come to terms with her love being unrequited, the one that need a dose of reality is Mochida she's deluding herself with thinking that she's doing this not because she wants to be the Math teacher girlfriend (yeah right you keep telling yourself that)
I don’t think Haruki has given up on Aya. She doesn’t want Aya to think about Sei, hence why she regrets taking the route through Sei’s school and even tries to stop Aya from defending Sei when they were walking home.
I think she’ll probably do something, like show Aya that picture Sei took, to try and break Sei and Aya up.
Mmmm... True I wouldn't mind reading about Aya & Sei's life once they have a more stable relationship & the trials they would have to face. But then again a time skip would be a good idea in this kind of series but that's just my opinion
Time skip just feels like it’s been done before. Besides, being alone clearly did not help Aya or Sei. I feel like what they need most is someone to stay with them, someone who genuinely cares and loves them, someone who is able to make their happiness their priority.
I with you on Sei making herself a bad person. I was surprised about that too, cuz usually in a Manga when a student falls for Teacher it's because they find them to be hot.
Yeah, that’s why I feel like the picture issue might resurface. Or worse; Sei might conform and end up with Math teacher. That might just be me reading to much into the fact that math dude showed up and was the one that helped Sei up though. That was probably just to insert Mochida and get her even more pissed.
What I know is Sei just likes to screw herself over so the thing that pushes Aya away will probably be something Sei does/did.
I wouldn't be surprised if she was but who knows, that's the thing about rumors they can be true, half-true, a lie, made up or twisting the facts in order to make themselves look like a victim. and I wouldn't mind having a physical copy of the series add shelf too.
The author keeps showing us the deeper reasoning behind character motivations/actions so I think it’s a definite possibility that things between Sei and Saika aren’t what they seem.
I admit that I’m rooting for Sei, but just look at what happened with Mochida.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out the most messed up character is actually Math Teacher- doesn’t make sense rn I know. He could just be a genuine nice person who is just desperate and wants Sei but like we’ve seen people in this manga do more than questionable things when they’re ‘in love’.
Side note- mentioned this before probably but I really like how Mochida and Haruki both reflect aspects of Sei, the girl pushing the envelope in order to monopolize their love and the girl who fell for her best friend. They don’t know it but they’re looking at their future self if they don’t learn to let go.
Side note I think you might be right about this series only having three volumes cuz I don't see it having more than just that, i mean if this drags out this too long then I'll be like beating a dead horse. so I think this series is only going to have least three chapters left 14,15 & 16, I mean sometime when you're at the end of the series there's usually an additional chapter for the final volume. >>
Volume three seems like it's set to deal with what happened to Sei and Sakai. Plus, I think there might be a dramatic separation between Aya and Sei before things are concluded. I sincerely hope it does not go that route however. I prefer a change of pace where characters can work things out together instead of taking time apart to figure stuff out.
Anyway, it won't be as bad as Citrus in terms of dragging out story but there's definitely potential for it ending at the fourth volume where it can cover the arc of Sei finally getting over Yoru, a formal goodbye conversation between them/Yoru's POV of what went on between them, Haruki/Mochida coming to terms with their loves remaining unrequited, and last but not least Aya and Sei finally establishing a relationship founded on mutual love instead of just lust.
That is to say, I would not be opposed to reading about Sei and Aya's life and the trials a student/teacher and age gap relationship will bring about. Though Flowerchild could just do a time skip and have them meet when Aya's an adult and Sei's healed, who knows. I am most likely wrong and there is always a chance that Aya and Sei do not end up together.
I still maintain that Sei is self-sabotaging. I loved that extra layer they gave Mochida and Math dude's beginning. I thought Mochida just liked him because he's hot. Totally thought those math classes started because she was into him. I didn't know she grew feelings because he encouraged her.
Also, is Sakai telling the truth? Or is she just taking advantage of the fact that she doesn't have to come to school? It seems like we might get Sei's version of what happened in coming chapters. That might just wishful thinking on my end. My speculations could be way off of course. Really enjoying this manga. I hope it gets picked up by an an English publisher( other languages as well because commercial success for Flowerchild) because this deserves a spot on my shelf!

The sad part is we probably won’t see a chapter where Ayano tries to one up Kitty...
Oh, I never said that it seemed to me like you implied it would be the only reason. I said it seemed to me like you implied it'd be the main reason
It’s a comedic motivator that fits the tone of the story. I was of course also joking when I made the original comment. For all we know Sakurako’s going to be the one to propose.
It almost sounds like you're impling that's going to be her main reason to marry Sakurako
And if you sincerely believe it would be, well... I can imagine at least 2 more important reasons... One by far so. And no, Kasumi liking Sakurako's cooking, while it would be a more important reason that people annoying her, it wouldn't be the one that'd be by far so.
It wouldn’t be the only reason but I’m implying it could be something that would help push Kasumi to ask.

That sounds so very Kasumi, I wouldn't even be surprised... :D
And at the same time, she would be very much aware of what this would mean as well.
She seems to be socially aware of how others would perceive her current situation with Sakurako. While the outside world hasn’t been much of a factor concerning the girls, because they were at school, it seems like the world of adulthood is slowly encroaching into the bubble these two have built.
Hopefully this continues on toward their adult life. I wonder if societal norms will play a role in the advancement of their relationship. Living together while you’re at school is quite different than living together once you’re adulting. People bugging them both about marriage and asking them to attend mixers. I can picture Kasumi just telling Sakurako: “Let’s get married so people will stop annoying me.”
It seems like the former four had a bit of a tiff and that's why Shiho left. Maybe Shiho quit because she thought the others would try to get her back? Shiho seems to feel like she's the slighted party. And given that we know Aki's been in love with Yori for a while, maybe she's been making comparison's between Shiho and Yori? Not on purpose of course since it's been established that Aki's not a heartless b*tch.
So since Shiho is Momoka's love interest, does that mean that tall unknown (Haji?) will be Aki's? Or maybe Miki's, though that is less likely...

The "let's go on a date" story arc was so funny and captivating that it made me completely forget about the real storyline going on right now: Evil Editor From Rotten Publishing Company Is Bullying And Tormenting Tadokoro Just For The Lulz.
It seems like they were just toying with her but it could be that they were testing her as well. Sometimes studios want to push artists out of their comfort zone in order to test their limits.
Tadokoro is new so it’s highly unlikely they’re going to shower her with praises. The other editors would probably not have been as harsh but she got the one that takes tough love to a whole other level.
Perhaps the editor sees her potential and wants to steer her in a direction that they feel would profit the company more. Something like this happened in Comic Girls I believe.
That won't change the fact that NOBODY wants to read tadokoro's mangas. The facts state that she HAS to conform or be cast out.
It’s not so much that nobody wants to read it. I think it’s just not a popular genre? Or perhaps her style, storyline, characters are simply considered dated.
https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/tadokoro_san_web_comic_ch47_5
Then again, the editor could be wrong. Perhaps people are only eating up what they’re offered because of lack of choice.
I don't know whom to ship with whom. It's gonna be a harem and I'm not usually for that but the semi-tamer Murceilago vibes are making me ship Utena with everyone.
To be clear, did the Ultra Evil girls kill those Magical girls? Or did they just wipe the floor with them? It feels like it'd throw the comedic tone in this particular story if killing became an option. Plus, Utena doesn't seem like she'd be willing to go that far. But then again, Lord is straight up just hurting people for her own amusement and I don't see her as the type that'll stop... unless the twist is she's an even bigger bottom than Azul. Or that she eventually pairs off with Azul who wants a mistress now.
This is admittedly a bit of a stretch, but maybe the possibility of being seen with a student in a casual setting in public (this was brought up as an issue with Sayaka and cafe-owner-san in YagaKimi) made her want to get off the street.
So being together in sensei’s apartment would be perceived as worse if discovered, but the chances of discovery are considerably less.
Of course, when you come to the fork in the road labeled “love discussion with student in public” vs. “love discussion with student in private,” you’ve already taken a wrong turn some distance back.
Hmm, I think Maki's just looking for an escape from her shackled lifestyle, consequences be damned. If you remember from chapter 3, Maki mentions that she's miserable from always living life on the straight and narrow. So basically, she wants to be a "bad girl" like Ako and that girl from the flashback.
From what I've read, it seems like Maki is super repressed. She's been following the rules her whole life and realized she has nothing to show for it. She's not happy and quite miserable.
During the date chapter, Ako asks her whether she's having fun. She tries to deny but for me the smile (I know some people feel like it was creepy) was a confirmation that she really was enjoying her outing with her underage student. The 'date' just made her want to go for Ako. Her cutting her nails was her deciding she was going to take what Ako's offering. Asking Ako to go to her apartment is partly so they could talk and of course, seal the deal I think.
Though it does make me wonder about Maki's history and experiences given how quickly she jumps straight to the sexual aspect of things? I wonder if Ako will be okay with how things are progressing. And please tell me we are getting sick Komachi being taken care of by Yuki.
Some bad news. Probably maybe no chapter next month. On the bright side, It's a Detached Relationship will be returning, so there will be no shortage of drama.
THANK YOU!!!!!!
Okay, if think I have a theory about this story so far and even though this is a guess I'll relay my thoughts has a spoiler.
Okay, first of all, I think that Maki-sensei and Chie-sensei are also twins (based on the 4th chapter, where Chie suggests to switch with Maki for the date with Ako).
I thought that too after seeing the cover. The teachers have similar hair color after all but then again, Chie seems to be taller than Maki and also they have different last names and I think she was suggesting she take over the tutoring not some Prestige type of twin switchery though anything is possible at this point.
Which leads to my second theory that Ako has actually run into Chie-sensei (disguised as Maki-sensei) at the end of chapter 5 and Chie is the one inviting her to her apartment (probably trying to ruin their relationship which is a bit opposite to Komachi's approach).
Anything can happen this early game. Though there’s a lot of risk in what she’s doing if that were the case. Too many people can see them being Maki at the same time, unless Maki is in on it or she knows real Maki is no longer at school.
This scenario would be more likely if Maki was the one looking for Ako but it seems like Ako was the one who searched her out.
And let’s not forget how Maki cut her fingernails and said she wants to acknowledge Ako’s
feelings. She also recognizes that following the rules hasn’t made her happy so perhaps this is just Maki throwing caution to the wind and just going for what she wants for once.
