Damn, I somehow accidentally downloaded this thing and only realized minutes later. At least I know how to avoid certain death now if some creepy ghost girl comes crawling out of my laptop screen! I mean, if I had accidentally downloaded the actual Ring movie, I think I'd have to say my goodbyes right now...
Some people also might not like having child pornography in their search engine profiles. Like I have said repeatedly there is no logical argument as to why the title cannot be changed to make it clearer and decrease the odds of a miss-click. It will take literally like 4 minutes of somebody's time to fix this. That is the only down side. The simple fact is a large number of people are miss-clicking on this thinking it is something that it is not. There is absolutely no real reason not to fix it with a simple title change.
If someone doesn't like having such things in their search engine profiles, then they shouldn't be on a site like this that hosts such content... surely, it'd still be pretty bad if it's prominently displayed on the main page and all. I mean, I admit that I certainly don't like having even yuri lolicon stuff in my history either (out of probably unfounded fear more than anything else though), but I love this site too much to ever give it up so I don't fuss over it too much. And, frankly, I think you're the only one who missed the "ONEELOLI HENTAI" in the title. It takes literally a second to read the whole title. Maybe you'd have more of an argument if the "hentai" thing wasn't in the title, but... it is. And, furthermore... it's pretty obvious this is not part of the actual series. I think anyone who actually reads the series should understand it's not...
Haha look at this mess of carnage and ideals. Just as predicted.
Elicit human response? So what? If its fun its fun, if its not it not. I dont look to fiction for reality, that takes away the appeal of such made up entertainment. I would watch a live action show if i wanted reality on fiction. It's ridiculous some people tend to think that fiction and reality should always share the same ideals. Sure lesbian straight friendship is great ideal in the real. But if i wanted to be politicaly correct all the damn time, i woudnt read specialzed niches like GL. Just consider it a difference of ideals and go on with your life. What u want out of yuri and what i want are different.
Before I start ranting about this, I'd like to say that I'm sleep-deprived, so this might be nonsensical. But, yeah, I think I should at least be able to get my point across. Also, this is probably bait, isn't it? Literally everything you've said in this thread is complete bullshit, so it probably is, but... whatever.
Don't try to pull that "oh, don't be so politically correct!!" bullshit now, idiot. No one's saying anything about how "fiction and reality should share the same ideals." No one's taking any moral high ground. They're just saying that it's nice to finally have a dude in yuri who's actually just a friend since that pretty much never shows up in yuri (okay, I'm super tired right now, so it's possible that some people actually are, but I'm pretty much most people here aren't... not that it's wrong to believe that anyway but that's besides the point). Call it idealistic, but I call it something relatively unique to the genre. If you're okay with reading the same "girl meets girl at an all-girls school that has all girls and no boys and they fall in love (no boys anywhere)" story over and over again, then that's fine, but some people like to actually spice things up and try out new things. It has nothing to do with being "politically correct." Also, you can't pull that "we just like different things" card when you were the one that claimed that everyone who likes something different is lying to themselves.
ALSO, who says realistic fiction can't be appealing? In most serious works, looking to fiction for reality is... kind of the point. Yeah, sure, not in this manga in particular, but I'd say that's the most appealing part of many fictional works. You're really limiting yourself if you legitimately think that.
And, besides, if you actually one thing right about the Rin being gay thing, I'll take it as a... tradeoff, I suppose. It seems the only thing she's ever written (surely, there must be more than just this and Prunus Girl...?) was a yaoi manga with a yuri sidecouple... and this is, according to you, a yuri manga with a yaoi sidecouple... which seems like it'll be far less important anyway since Shion and her girlfriend were pretty important characters and this new dude definitely won't be. I find Rin to be a funny character myself, and it'd be cool if he's fleshed out a bit. Yeah, I admit that it's a problem that there's only one volume left and a lot will apparently be used on him and I'd definitely prefer more actual yuri, but... I don't share the same dumb reasoning as you, at least. If the series weren't axed, I'd be perfectly fine with it.

It's fucked up in het and it's fucked up in yuri
Basically.^^^^^^^^
For all of y’all with double standards. I bet you wouldn’t feel the same if “Master” was a man
Honestly, I would never read this if Master were a dude, but I don't really give a shit 'cause she's a woman. I very much have double standards when it comes to yuri, and I'm proud of them. I guess I can conclude that all these years of yuri have thoroughly corrupted my mind... I mean, I'm not into sexualized minors or incest or whatever except when they involve legitimate yuri. I think the whole yuri is pure thing is dumb (though it's a fun joke, for sure), so I can't really explain why I feel this way, but I do... it's pretty weird.
Okay, onto another topic, I am legitimately curious though about this, this isn't a joke... is fictional CP actually illegal in the US? I'm disgusted by it for the most part (don't kill me pls), so I try to avoid it, but it does end up showing up anyway on many less than reputable sites I visit... including this one, obviously, though I wouldn't call this site less than reputable (it pretty much is though, isn't it). If the police decided to arrest someone or whatever, would they have a case? I mean, even if they don't have a valid reason, just the accusation would absolutely ruin anyone's life... so would they even charge someone with something in the first place?
Edit: Someone below me posted something about how there's a difference between portraying something and glorifying something like in all those rape things where the victim likes it by the end, and I'd like to comment on that. Firstly... well, there definitely is a difference but this is definitely glorifying it to an extent haha. Secondly, it did make me wonder why I'm okay with this but not with all those horrible rape doujins. The best thing I can come up with is that you can't really make someone a pedophile but you can kinda make someone a rapist to an extent... I'm sure this is gonna be controversial, especially since I have zero evidence to support this assertion, but I feel that if you portray rapey behavior as being perfectly fine, it's gonna be influential on people's actions if/when they actually have sex. Like in all those even ostensibly non-rape things where one person's going "Stop! Stop!" and the other person doesn't stop, and then everyone's fine by the end... I feel like it might encourage that kind of behavior in real life even when someone's partner clearly doesn't want to continue. Feel free to prove me wrong though if any of this is baseless.

I don't really care that much about this whole skin color debate, but I will say that this artist's human Marina looks absolutely nothing like Marina. She looks more like Riko to me, if I'm gonna be honest. Of course, human Pearl looks pretty different too, but at least I could still tell it was her right away. That said, I think the author could have at least made her skin a bit dark even in the black-and-white portions. I mean, it's not like other manga don't have dark-skinned or tan characters (like Umiko in New Game), so it's not like it's impossible to portray dark skin and preserve the whole cute aesthetic even in such a format. That's just my opinion though and very likely one with crappy foundations, but... yeah.

I decided to check out the ending and its all true. Its rather disgusting how easily she (the teacher) did it, not to mention she was already in a relationship with another woman (Misora). One of the most unbelievably bad endings I've ever witnessed.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE AUTHOR ACTUALLY HAS HER GO OUT WITH MISORA, AND THEN HE PULLS THAT SHIT? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS WRONG WITH HIM?
Seriously, I never been so disappointed in a manga like that. I know I will sound harsh, but I'm kinda glad it doesn't look like the author got any success for their later series (which was a fucking harem manga of all thing) and stopped making manga altogether because they don't deserves anything after pulling that type of thing
I definitely agree with you there. If someone doesn't know their audience that badly or, worse, actively works to alienate them, well... things ain't gonna go well for them, as they apparently haven't for this dude.
So, I was gonna ask about that Liz to Aoi Tori thing 'cause I thought it featured these two characters, but apparently it features two other characters. Goes to show how little I know about Hibike... well, still, I am kinda curious. How overt is the yuri in that movie, if there's any at all? Does it continue the tradition of bullshit bait from the anime, or is it a legitimate relationship? I remember reading someone hailing it as a revolution for the yuri genre, but I've probably just hyped myself up too much over one person's ramblings...
Anyhow, I thought this thing was pretty good even though, again, I never watched the anime. Their relationship was pretty messed up, but it is fun to read about messed up relationships every once in a while.
The movie hasn't been subbed yet, it was released in theaters in April so it might take a while. But as far as I know the pairing has more potential than Kumiko x Reina since it doesn't have guys involved.
It's definitely not the revolution of yuri but it does have a lot of subtext pairings, Mizore x Nozomi (the ones from Liz to Aoi Tori) being one of the gayest ones and Asuka x Kaori too since the latter seems to be canon in the novels.
That's sure a relief. I wouldn't want such a seemingly promising relationship to end with one of them dating a terrible teacher (Reina does date whatever-his-name-is-Sensei, right?). It's a shame that it's just subtext, but I didn't really expect anything else from this movie... still, I think it would have been a legitimate revolution if it were truly confirmed yuri. Like, if they confessed their love to one another and kissed. Apparently, the director's pretty popular and I'd assume the movie has a big budget (as expected from a KyoAni film), so it would have been amazing if an actual big budget yuri movie was made rather than a subtext movie... but it sadly seems like it's not meant to be.
And, wow, I had no idea that there was a canon lesbian relationship in the novels. Based on how the writer apparently treated Kumiko and Reina's relationship, I didn't really have high hopes for anything else... I'm still probably not gonna read them, but that's pretty cool nonetheless.
Seems like it receive pretty positive response so far. I don't know how the general audience will response to later episode through, if they don't invest much on yuri.
I'm definitely happy to read all these positive reviews from people who might not have otherwise watched yuri. Perhaps this will be the anime to finally bring the yuri genre out of obscurity! ... Yeah, probably not, and it would hardly be the best "yuri" anime for that purpose anyway. I'm banking more on Bloom into You, as long as that's good.
Shyoko death could be one of a highlight of anime, cause it can provide a different take to standard cold-blood yandere (with Satou clearly struggle with it). Afraid that they may cut Shuu-chan off (she appeared in manga chapter 1, didn't she?). Hope not since that episode indicate how yandere top tier Satou is, comparing to normal yandere.
I reread the first chapter, and I didn't notice Suu in it. Maybe I just missed her though. It seems like it was a very faithful adaptation though, so I don't doubt that Suu will appear when she should.., if they do cut her, I'll be pretty pissed. I mean, who are Satou and Shio going to get their passports from if Suu's not in the anime! It's pretty sad that's pretty much all she's done in the entire manga... and it's too late for her to show up more now, probably... maybe she saves the day somehow. At any rate, the only scene that (I think) was cut was the scene where Satou was saying "I didn't know people could have hateful smiles" to that girl who ratted her out. It's a bit regrettable since that'd be cool to see animated. However, it's ultimately not really important since she never shows up again, so I can understand why they cut it.
Edit: The anime made me realize Suu was in the fourth chapter... I did not remember that at all. She seemed like a random background character then, and, well, she's not much better, but... at least she got something to do later on. At any rate, it seems they're not planning on cutting her out since she showed up here and all.

Well, it sure is awfully convenient that... I forgot their names... guitar girl fell in love with the other girl considering her grandfather was apparently her guitar teacher. I dunno though, that sinister smile at the end makes me think she has some ulterior motives... maybe she actually sought the other girl out just so she could find the mom, but I don't know if that really makes sense.
Ive got some bad news for you guys... this manga is a trap. Its fucking horrible. It tricks you with cute comedy but you wont expect to see whats coming for you. Ive seen the ending of this manga (c35) and let me tell you.... this teacher have sex with his male student and get fired. She fail as a teacher. And thats it. They decide to not translate the rest of the chapter because of the bullshit ending. Fuck the author
Is this actually true...? If it is, then, well, I know what I'm not reading anymore (not that I can anyway, but, yeah, you know).
Okay, so I'm not sure if this actually exists or if it was a weird dream I had but it was a Madoka Magica doujin that was about how Homura was getting letters from Madoka that were addressed to Sayaka. She is confused about why the letters were being sent to her but then she finds out that Sayaka had lived in her apartment before she had killed herself. She then decides to write back to Madoka as if she was Sayaka.
I am like 90% sure that this is a real thing that exists but... Who knows.
I sadly can't help here, but this does sound really interesting... sounds a bit messed up too, I'd say. I mean, what would someone think if she suddenly got letters from her dead friend...?
Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics (and the title) for the opening and ending songs? I really love the opening song and its perfect blend of cuteness and creepiness, and I'd love to actually know what the singer's singing. I like the ending song less 'cause it seems pretty generic in comparison, but I'm still curious to know the significance of the lyrics and all that.
Also, yeah, what the hell was up with that opening... I sure hope that it's just a metaphor or something rather than something that actually happens.
Oh shit, I didn't realize the anime was coming out in literally two days! This is amazing! My uncle has an Amazon Prime subscription, so perhaps I should ask for his account to watch this. Then again, this is the kind of anime I don't want to tell anyone about, so I'll probably just find a streaming site elsewhere. I really hope it's good... it seems this is Studio Ezo'la or whatever's first project, so I'm a bit doubtful, but hopefully it works out all the same.
Also, yeah, poor Yuuna... those chapters were horrible to read, but I suppose they were unfortunately necessary to finally develop Shio's backstory more and all that... I thought she'd died before the story started, but it looks like I was mistaken. I hope things go well for her in the end, but, yeah, that's probably not gonna happen. Things probably won't go well for anyone, really, but I can hope...
@SomethingOrOther
Okay, I actually completely forgot about that scene. i thought you were joking at first, but I do vaguely remember that happened... I'm sure it wasn't that bad in context though since I know I probably would have been super pissed off if it was... who knows though. I'll have to go back and replay it sometime. That said, if I recall correctly, I thought the point was that Marina had no idea what the hell she was doing since it was her first time in that role and all. As for the faking an orgasm thing... I thought she didn't want to hurt her feelings or something like that. I admit that I played this over a year ago, so I'm probably remembering things wrong.
Anyhow, I wouldn't say that one scene ruins the entire VN even if it is as bad as you say it is. You even admit you were emotionally invested in it... and I was as well. I got attached to all the characters in a short time in a way that very few other VNs have accomplished. The art and music were pretty great as well as well as the subject matter... I always appreciate yuri that is willing to try things outside of the usual "yuri in a girl's school" thing.
WHAT THE FUCK? YOU'RE TELLING ME TAMA WANTS TO FUCK HER FUCKING FATHER? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE SUBTEXT BETWEEN TAMA AND CATGIRL? Alright, I was considering continuing this series, but... I'm gonna wait now to see what comes of this. That said, it's still super fucked up even if it ends in a yuri way... I mean, I haven't read it, of course, but "Oh, I need to love my dad romantically to really act as the mother of my sisters!" makes absolutely no sense to me. What was the author thinking...

The only possible twist that could make me like this story going forward is one in which Touma-kun to be revealed to be an alien or supernatural being of sorts that is trying to mate with as many women as possible for reasons.
Isn't that the whole premise of Blue Drop? Damn, I need to get around to watching that eventually... but, at any rate, I would love the series even more if that twist suddenly happened. I like it as it is now, as ridiculous as it is, but that would make it even better in my eyes.
For clarification, my comments had nothing to do with any specific plot point or character. I just scoffed at the notion this chapter qualified as "drama" or that the overall tone of the series till now has been anything other than cute and adorably gay (imo).
I simply think it's a really well-done story so far. One of the best in a long while. I think the comparison to Yagate Kimi a few pages back was sound.
This is better than YagaKimi
I don't disagree
I do disagree... this is fucking amazing too, for sure, but it doesn't compare to the masterpiece that is YagaKimi in my eyes... but that's neither here nor there, I don't want to start a dumb debate or anything.
