Alright, I like this series, but in all seriousness, how much longer could it possibly be? I just don't see where else it could possibly go without dragging itself out (which tbh its already shown signs of starting to do exactly that). I'm just worried that this series is gonna do what so many shounen series are guilty of in that it'll start of super lovable but then go so unnecessarily long that I start to hate it cough Bleach cough. Because honestly, this series could ended itself in one or two volumes or so and I would've felt perfectly satisfied as long as it had an ACTUAL conclusion.

It's just....everytime I see the adult life tag i just think to myself "somethings gonna go wrong. somethings gonna go wrong. somethings gonna go wrong. OH GOD IS THIS IT!? No. somethings gonna go wrong later tho."

I thought it was pretty mean of Tomo's dad to refer to her as a monkey, especially when he said "See how far you can escape." I figured she was just trying to run away from him and start anew.... I totally didn't think she was so depressed to the point of being suicidal though.

Actually, he wasn't trying to insult Tomo when he called her a monkey he was referencing the story of Sun Wukong from Journey to the West. Sun Wukong was imprisoned by the Buddha after losing a bet to him about whether or not he could escape from Buddha and, after Sun Wukong jumped thousands of miles in a single bound, he realized that he hadn't even gotten off of the Buddha's palm. Hence the imagery of Tomo struggling on her father's palm. So, yeah, her father is an immense prick, but he wasn't blatantly insulting her there.

WHAT.THE.SHIT.WAS.THAT.CRAP.ENDING!? That was just a bad ending. So she just left, DIED AT SEA OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE, and Ai, who lets not forget BARELY ACTUALLY FUCKING KNEW HER, never actually moved on from her. Even to the point where her "rebound," for lack of a better word, was an exact carbon copy of Tomo (I honestly, felt nothing but pity for Tomo's surprise little sister rather than relief that Ai would finally "move on" from Tomo, not that I would ever actually consider that kind of development moving on). No, that's just a bad ending. I didn't even actually like Tomo very much so whether they got together or not or even that she died doesn't bother me too much (especially, since a happy ending was kind of shut down right from the start with this series lol), but the way all that was executed within the story and the aftermath of it all was just badly done. Just no. Seriously Shuninta, wtf is going on with you lately? You're just making crap all over the place with your last couple series. I used to really like you and you have a lot of good works, but you've really been letting me down lately. I can handle sad endings (not that I like them) but these endings are just bad, as in poorly done at this point.

It was funny when they were both that way, but now that one of them seems to have developed some sort of form of reasonabiliy and common sense it kind of gives off an incredibly abusive relationship vibe lol.

I hope this will be a series where the relationship actually progresses romantically and doesn't just forever stay in the "but do they really or don't they?" mode that most series of this type never decide to leave.

OH! For a second I thought that Chapter 3 was the ending. I mean, this series is already everything I don't like put into one thing but this chapter of the ending would've just...Well I think we can all agree that chapter 3 would've been an incredibly shitty ending and not just me, who doesn't like the orgy aspect. Also, I read the spoiler that someone posted and I really only have one question at this point: Really? Ayane will do NOTHING in this series? Really thought she was gonna become the surprise love interest but...I guess not...? lol
In all seriousness though, series like this where the orgies significantly overshadow and outnumber any plot (not saying that there is none, just not that much) are basically the reason why everybody thinks yuri is all porn. Honestly, I love Mira. But I don't love this orgy after orgy after orgy after orgy series. But i'm gonna keep reading since Mira has yet to let me down with her endings (a thing I can't really say for most yuri manga cough TAKEMIYA JIN cough lol). Even though, I didn't love what I read in that spoiler posted a while ago, just gonna hold on hope that that person explained it poory lol.

Honestly, it kind of lost me there for a while but now that its been explained I really do like this manga's plot over the anime's. Although I can't help but notice all of the shoutouts it gives to the anime lol. I recognize that wooden bear carving from somewhere lol.

Basically in Tamako Love Story the main girl's friend all but definitely is in love with her but its pretty subtextual and never really progresses anywhere since, by the movie at least, Tamako has an actual male love interest. Personally tho, i didn't hate it since I'm a fan of romance, in general, not just yuri. My favorite kind of romance is yuri (WHEN IT HAS A FUCKING HAPPY ENDING WHICH FEELS LIKE ITS SO RARE LATELY) since it tends to be sweeter and/or at the very least, more realistic (for example, there is often an actual struggle to get past to achieve the love in yuri while in het the only struggle tends to be every character's own stupidity/obliviousness or "oh you helped me ONCE which means I would literally just die for you because I love you that much). But like I said, I love romance in general, so I'm satisfied either way lol.
I feel like i explained my feelings incredibly poorly, but the gist is I love romance, be it het, yuri, and even, VERY RARELY, yaoi (I loved the first few eps of Love Stage, but after that it got kinda pointless imo), therefore unlike many on this site, I didn't hate Tamako Love Story lol.
Also Tamako Market was the series and Tamako Love Story was the movie. I just feel like that was an important detail I glazed over lol.

Heavily subtextual. There's a girl who seems to be head over heels for the MC and the MC is very interested and curious about the girl. Plus, it's based off a legit novel, not like a manga or LN, so the chance of it happening goes up.

It's not the focus, but its there and it definitely is emphasized.

In what way did it feel forced? I think it's actually one of the few where it doesn't feel forced and actually had a storyline where that kind of ending made sense. If anything the stalling, courtesy of Chihiro, felt forced. I mean, "maybe you should give some space," really? But as for Aoi choosing Nao, in the end, makes total sense to me. I mean, Nao was there for her LITERALLY everytime she needed her to be, meanwhile the girl who she originally liked spent the entire series doing nothing besides purposely tormenting her. Had the series ended any other way, it would've felt forced.

OH MY FUCKING GOD. IT HAS BEEN SO FUCKING LONG SINCE THERE WAS A TAKEMIYA JIN ENDING THAT DIDN'T MAKE ME WANT TO FLIP EVERY SINGLE TABLE WITHIN A TEN MILE RADIUS!!!! Thank you!!!! I mean, Chihiro's very existence and just true evilness made me want to flip 2, maybe 3, tables but for a Takemiya Jin work that's fantastic. God it's been a fucking long time since I had high hopes for a yuri series and it didn't disappoint me silently curses Triangle Struggle to a horrible and brutal death. Nonetheless, WELL DONE! I quite enjoyed this series. No characters that were just truly, utterly stupid cough Fragments of Love Side story cough, no pointless drama, no infidelity, ACTUALLY likable characters, AND a happy ending. This series had everything I liked. Or maybe I should say lacked everything I don't like lol.

Ok! New theory: The black haired girl is just /really/ socially awkward and her parents are /really/ conservative, so if they ever find out they'll make them break up. She is, actually, being completely 120% sincere with everything she's saying. She just comes off as a horrible, manipulative, tarpertip because of the main character's own insecurities and her own awkwardness.

This theory makes me much happier than the alternative.
