I feel like I'm missing something here. It seems like it's in the middle of a story.
Edit: After coming back to it, I realize that's the point. We're just shown that these two girls were so close they pretty much proposed to each other. We didn'tneed to see their past to prove it. I don't know how past-me didn't see that.
