^Yeah it makes me wonder how the GWitch team is feeling, with the amount of restrictions they had to deal with, and what we saw of them having to push back to even get as much we did with the series.

I think there's various obvious problems with AI in general, and it doesn't hold up under most scrutiny. With that said this thread has gotten very off topic and I think the conversation should probably be moved elsewhere at this point. Plus I think there's various things being said that are inappropriate and rude due to the human effort that goes into Dynasty Scans, both the original work and translation. For my closing statement I want to again say I appreciate the human effort and passion that goes into translations and the original works. This manga has been very fun so far, and I'm looking forward to future chapters.

How do you know if it is or isn't accurate in the first place if you can't read the source text to begin with? Don't you think it's disingenuous to say "I tried translating the webnovel" when in fact you just fed it to ChatGPT or whatever?

Pretty much, probably better than the standard outdate MTL we have access to like 3-5 years ago.

I say technology and AI advancement is pretty amazing so far in the recent years but between a professional talented translator vs ChatGPT then the professional human translator would win 90% of the time....But between ChatGPT AI or other AI version versus a random average human translator (Those who only studied the language they are translating for like 2-3 years)....then sometimes the AI would win....In 10-20 years AI would defeat about 70-80% of the average human translators....only the 10-20% truly talented translator will actually survive and have jobs.

Just hope government make laws to secure and make use of A.I proper and reasonable since A.I is a powerful tool that can either improve or destroy the economy (Destroy jobs or create jobs).

I’m not trusting or believing in governments to do anything right. Also I still rather have the human touch if possible, the passion, and so forth. Translation is also an art.

^I'm not 100% clear on it and I could be wrong, but I believe in DLC for Scarlet & Violet there's a thing where characters do a weird dance, and I think from my understanding of what "girlswhokiss" said there's a Pokemon forcing them to dance like that. I'm not entirely sure why, maybe the Pokemon is just trolling lol

That aside, I think "ImheretoDie" is talking about Netflix's habit of cancelling live action series with lesbian characters. Since they have a rep for that. Netflix has it's ups and downs, with animation She-Ra and Arcane are appreciated. You also have a lesbian side character couple in Castlevania, and two gay men in Nocturne. I'm also happy that Netflix rescued Nimona as well, that movie is fun and the gay couple in that are cute.

Though Netflix definitely has a lot of problems in general and they're a company at the end of the day, they do shit I hate such as their planned AI ads for next year, various cancellations, and so forth. I don't want to defend them or companies in general, so I'm only saying at least we've gotten some good things from creative people they've funded. I think Kpop Demon Hunters is one of those things, the movie is fun and talented people worked on it. That's all I'll say since I don't want to venture further off topic.

Theoretically yeah, but often harems aren't "true" harems. Instead they tend to end with primary winner and the harem is simply numerous characters aiming for the center character until then. Plus a lot of the audience often cheers for a fave character, and they want a monogamous relationship where their fave is the winner. I think I'm generally on the rare end where I want this to actually be a true harem.

The movie is focused on the trio of girls and it’s het centric, that said I think it’s a fun movie and worth watching. A lot of the artists I’ve seen are enjoying the movie and using it as fuel for fun ship art. Which works imo because the main girl trio is fun together and they have good chemistry even as friends in the movie.

I'd say so, or at least adjacent. Since AI makes mistakes and I genuinely don't trust it in general. Plus there's nuances with language, understanding it, all of which need a human touch. I think human translation is far more respectful of the original work, and Dynasty Scans is a website with a library built on human works and human translations. I appreciate the passion and hard work that goes into both the original work and translations here, so I'd rather wait for a human translation of the webnovel if I were to read it.

I think human translation is even more prone to error and bias, like the translation of Watanare by Sevensea (it feels really weird). That's not to say AI is perfect but it's a solid choice if staying true to the original is the goal. Human can really elevate the work but it requires a really high talent.

Humans of course can make mistakes, but I have a lot more faith in human ability and passion to translate a project well, especially well done fan translations, than I do an AI that doesn't even know what it's looking at. It's probably just something I think we'll have to agree to disagree on, and I personally hope Dynasty Scans keeps being a website centered around human efforts.
