Agreed, and even more impressively, each season is actually better than the last, instead of as good as or, more commonly, worse. Such a shame it's cancelled.

I wasn't actually disagreeing w/ any of that. They manag'd to fit the mandatory sex scenes much better in Hollow/Ataraxia, imo.

Hollow/Ataraxia was a little better in that regard: the sex scenes are all "optional", outside of the main story.

There probably were other methods, but it is the fact that in all others games/series somehow they never used it again and just went for traditional mana transfer. So even if it is fanservice, they still decided to choose this one.

Iirc, some "reasons" were actually given for why this specific method was needed in the VN's case.

I'm having a hard time reading that right.

It must be difficult not being able to see the person you love for so long, and barely being able to contact them. Long distance is hard enough already without such a busy and public lifestyle.
