How did she get a copy of that paper?

I feel like I just read a cross between Kill la Kill and the Boondock Saints.

Eh. It feels a bit weird to me. I mean, she confessed to the other girl once and was summarily turned down, but this time, with little to no additional effort, she was accepted and it turned out the other girl always loved her. I could see that kind of stupidity happening, but it should take a bit more than a second try to overcome it.

Drill-kun is kinda anoying even he just a cardboad since it was some LOL het plot device like Yukari been crushing for him
Oh course now is different but back to that time it was the reason to call show ''subtext''

well.. according to the chapter itself, this "drill" doesn't have anything to do with body part at all... I mean, even a woman have it.... so.....

anyway, Yukari just being Yukari, she can't even distinguish gender without guessing based on their names.

I have a feeling they're just Gurren style drills that represent potential or work ethic or something.

Then again, those were some nice eye lasers.

Ergh. This had a lot of really good moments, but it also had a lot of really bad ones, normally where it devolved into bad psudoscience and philosophy. Unfortunately, this entire chapter was made of that junk.

The idea that she couldn't effect Yukari's fate because it's only hers makes no sense because A) she effected countless other people's fates far more drastically with no issue what so ever and B) it implies that Ukari wanted to be tortured and/or killed, which seems wrong.

The idea that it was bad for her to try and manipulate Yukari's fate is even worse. Countless people try and manipulate other's fates on a regular basis; normally we call them heroes, or emts or fire men or doctors. The only differences between Manabu and them are that she had much better tools and was only focused on saving one person.

Finally, the idea of qualia of perception breaks down for a being with Manabu's perspective or even just a normal transhuman cyborg. Since she can become someone else and gain their memories, she can see things through their eyes. Once you can do that sort of thing, the concept of being unable to truly see things from another perspective breaks down.

That was really cute. I just wish it didn't go Twighlight for a few pages their at the end. I mean, I've never known someone to pass out from receiving bad news and jumping straight to suicide is a bit much...

You know, this could be the seed for a really interesting story. I mean, the show had that thing where their bodies are really puppets and they used it as an excuse for a freak-out, but there are a lot of other ways that you could go with it. For example, they could come to accept it, either because they found out and they're OK with that kind of thing or because they lived long enough that they had to accept that something was up, and treat it like any other form of transhumanism... In a world where no one else is a transhuman.

I know this isn't what's happening in this story, but it would be really cool if Mami had a childhood friend that she grew up with and eventually started dating. Except, the friend would keep growing without her and eventually you'd have something like the scene here, where they both love each other and are perfectly mature, but one of them still has the body of a child. It would be interesting to see how that would effect their social lives, both in terms of their normal friends and the way strangers would judge them, and how they would deal with the yearly reminder that eventually one of them will grow old and frail and eventually die and the other simply won't.

Actually, that could be set up as a very interesting prequel to the actual events of the series.

Aren't there school wide tests that she regularly gets second on? Shouldn't they already know who's smarter?

Right. I'll be taking this chapter as further evidence that Remi is not actually human. I mean, she already has the fang and cat like eyes, but she also basically feeds on and manipulates emotions. She is clearly a succubus or something similar.

I wonder if any development is going to happen between Akina and Kaede?

At this point I'd like to see her either admit she's gay as hell (and then agonize over liking Kaede, who she thinks wouldn't be interested) or at least admit she's becoming an otaku.

Heck, even admitting that all otaku aren't like her brother and his friends would be a start.

Although I gotta admit, the series is a really good guided tour of Japanese otaku culture, if taken a bit to extremes.

At this rate, I think Kaede might end up asking her out first.

I'm just waiting for her to get caught, which I was sure was going to happen this chapter. Though with the way they started playing that game, I think her brother might suspect her new hobbies.

I can't decide if she cares about exactly the wrong part of that statement or the right part.

Was anyone else annoyed/confused by that girl in the bar?

If I followed that right, she had feelings for Isechi, but wasn't able to act on them because Isechi kept falling for straight women. Now that Isechi's fallen for a lesbian, she's annoyed because she didn't get a chance.

The thing is, it's not like Isechi's psychic and automatically knew the sexuality of her crushes(?) in advance and did, infact, think Kaoru was straight up until she found out otherwise.

That all makes enough sense on it's own, but why are the other girls siding with her over Isechi?

That was adorable, although I have to admit I didn't remember Hibari.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that problem. Does anyone know what chapter she's from?

Well, that was interesting. I guess that means the Knight isn't living. So, either some sort of golem, android or undead. The fact that she supposedly isn't an oddman makes me lean away from an undead. I'm really curious to find out more about them. I

Weren't there only supposed to be 7 girls?

If I recall correctly, there are 11 total and 10 of them are girls, with the last one being the masochist. That, or there are 10, with one being the masochist and the 11th being the protagonist. Either way, I think only the Masochist is male.

Oh man. This art is wonderful and I can totally sympathize with No-re in regards to mornings, classes, and taking wrong turns to get to those classes.

By the way, The '-a' is a part of Seol-a's name. And No-re means 'song' in Korean.

That's interesting. Thanks for letting us know. Doe's Seol-a's name mean anything?

Also, is No-re her personal name or her surname?

"This is not a stretch."

Beautiful.

On another note, Keiko seems to be really uncomfortable with their relationship or what Ran want's their relationship to be. Hopefully this is only a temporary thing. Otherwise it could be quite sad.

I definitely like the setting, but I'm not so sure about them being vampires. It feels sort-of superfluous, since they can be out in the sun and drink each-others blood, rather than having to hunt or seduce non-vampires. In the first chapter, they've effectively eliminated two of the major characteristics of vampires and they've only kept the type for pop-culture appeal and cheesecake kissing/biting scenes.

Risa is a horrible, horrible, troll. I love it.

Also, is there a reason this doesn't seem to be connected with the first one? I had to do a search to find chapter 1 so I could refresh myself on what happened.

Just Fuck Mika. I can't stand the way Jin writes these asshole characters who would rather talk in riddles and mind games than give a damn straight answer.

Sigh. It says the story is still on-going but this really felt like an ending. A shitty ending.

Well, if it's still on going that might be fine then. Decent middles often make for terrible endings, after all. Still, this is a rather dissatisfying turn. I wonder where it will go from here.

People keep saying Fue is asexual, but I'm not so sure that's actually the case. I think it's more that she's really depressed, in the clinical sense. To quote Wikipedia "Both DSM-IV-TR and ICD-10 mark out typical (main) depressive symptoms. ICD-10 defines three typical depressive symptoms (depressed mood, anhedonia, and reduced energy), two of which should be present to determine depressive disorder diagnosis."

EVERYTHING is a bother for her, eating, being with the person she cares about, not being with the person she cares about, being awake, sleeping, going on vacation... The list goes on. So, there's anhedonia.

She seems to have no energy or drive and is constantly falling asleep, even at inappropriate times. That would be a lack of energy.

Finally, her internal monologue was pretty gloomy, which would be a depressed mood.

Three out of three, get this girl some anti-depressants. The anhedonia, on it's own, would account for the lack of sex drive, though the low energy wouldn't help, so there's no reason to posit asexuality. Actually, depending on how you read it, pg.29 in chapter 00 could be her saying that glasses (I have forgotten her name) turns her on, which would also count against her being asexual. For those who don't want to search, I'm talking about the second speech bubble on the right of the following page: http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/the_feelings_we_all_must_endure_ch00#31

It's weird, but I think he's getting saner... That or I get the internal logic of his world enough to not be surprised any more. Either way, he's fairly consistent and interesting.
