Just finished girl next door, and i think im done with this series. They are too formulaic. One girls disabled, one or both are talented and successful, they're rich or have famous parents, The MCs are basically the same character.

The stories themselves aren't bad, the endings are sweet and you get the sense they really are in love, but the variation is too little.

Shame, I like the lightness of it. Guess I've read too much Elsanna fics for that to phase me (200+). I kind of agree on the same-ness of the characters and kind of not. I take it as by the end they become happy and they're character is gonna naturally be like that, every character has her perks though. 4-5 books out of the 13 they're not disabled. And it's just the world the author has made, with all the connections and such.

Also I know I'm defending them, I just like them a lot xD Guess I'm tired of the angst/drama filled stuff I read. Gotta get my cavities. But if you want additional things to say that are repetitive, they always meet 20-30 pages in the book (the main characters) there is only one big argument/falling out followed by them not interacting for 20-30 pages (exception is Music of the Soul so far) and it's almost always because of miscommunication

Also you should read Wolfsbane Winter if you haven't yet. That'll be more up your alley. Half a book until they meet xD

I generally have a low opinon of fanfics, but i am really loving this hermoine x luna story! Luna was always my favourite, first time she appeared in the books i instantly liked her.

And i havent read any of the other music of the soul books yet, but girl next door sounds rather interesting.

Yeah, Crazy Little Things is really tender and Girl Next Door is like that a little. Or at least, they are really physically close to each other.

I only read the first book of music of the soul, might read june later, since its about Mandy's daughter, i guess.

If it's anything like the other in terms of character insertion, you'll have all if not most of the characters from the previous books. The main one from Girl Next Door is the daughter of Penny Franklin and her love interest is friends with one of the characters from A Deafening Whisper.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but there is a hentai yuri game called 'Demon Master Chris' (Don't worry about the name, Chris is a girl) It seems to be an RPG/Dungeoncrawler. The CGs are apparently quite good though I've heard the combat could be improved a lot.

Yeah, they're nice. Though the combat is tedious, keep in mind though because it's a dungeon crawler the protagonist gets raped by monster girls, and there are a few endings, the true ending is a yuri one, where Chris pulls the real Demon Queen in her world and she can't go back and the Queen more or less says 'take responsibility' and it fades out in a kissing CG

I have to say, music of the soul is rather good. Its plagued with errors and stuff, and reminds of the way korean dramas get all angsty and emotional for the silliest of reasons; but it's a rather good.

The book or the series? I finished the book yesterday and I liked it a lot, especially after it's revealed that she's not really hated and how Belle rallied her family to help her through her healing so to speak

Don't really agree with A Deafening Whisper's epilogue though, or with the Girl Next Door's conception, it seems like they would adopt and not have one of them be pregnant

It'd be so funny if(when) she starts having romantic feelings and experiences sexual attraction to her senpai (or whatever his name is) and completely flipping your ACE/Aromantic expectations xD I think it's early for her to be labeled something, give it a few more chapters and then start with labels.

I just hope she doesn't come back brainwashed. I don't think they would go there and undo two seasons of character development, but I'm so used to TV writers (and network execs) fucking everything up that I still fear for the worst sometimes.

It's either that or she's pretending to be so. I recall in an episode or two that she said the team can handle itself and she probably relied on that, and she is going to destroy them from the inside. It's really either this or brainwashing. It all depends on whether or not PoI stays long enough for it to play out, since it's on a network that relies heavily on procedural and this is going heading off in a different direction, plus the ratings have begun to drop.

When Martine finally got killed the first thing i thought was: finally!
Too bad about Elias, I liked him.
The Machine's farewell to Finch made sad, it was touching.
I was split on wanting Greer to get offed. He's such an awesome villain, but at the same time, i wanted Control to shoot him isntead of yapping.

It's not shown that Elias is dead though, just wounded. I gotta admit though, when Root snapped her neck like it was nothing I was a bit dumbfounded at first, then of course I yelled "HELL YEAH!" xD The parallels between Greer and Dominic and Elias and Team Machine was very good though, if you noticed them. I kind of knew it when Control wouldn't shut up that he wouldn't die. But yeah, this show is a million times better than any other I've watched. Can't wait for the next season.

So i am reading music of the soul, and i have noticed that Shubach seems to write about the same type of character personality, and always in first person. But its a cute fluffy story, even if Bella's family is a bit too Stepford Wives lol. If she dyes her hair brown and copies Mandy's dress style, I'm done. :p

Yeah, that's probably the one downside, they start out as pretty distinct people and after they talk a little bit more they get kind of samey. Granted I've only read two of the longer ones so far and haven't started the story about June's mom.

I know what it is, giving her a plot justification wont change the fact she behaves like a bitch and remains dislike-able . "Oh boohoo, feel for me, I have my reasons" feels like a desperate, plot-wise, justification for her behavior.
