Every time a new chapter gets posted, people are always like “oh this chapter was so bad omg so overly dramatic with shit writing as always” but we all keep coming back. (...) The first chapter was released back when I was 16 years old, and I’ve been keeping up ever since.

Maybe I want to keep up with Citrus because I started reading it so long ago and just want to see it through. Maybe it’s because the ridiculous plot actually entertains me despite my complaints about it. Probably both.

I understand what you mean, but my take is that from the beginning it was this overly dramatic soap operesque manga. Apart from Mei her personal development (and thus also the development of her relationship with Yuzu) I wasn't expecting much of this series. And it's not supposed to be more than that. Like you said, Saburo Uta decided she wanted to write some soap opera, and so she did.

Tbh all this hate just reminds me of the Justin Bieber hate in the beginning of his career. Fair enough right now he isn't the most decent human being but in the beginning he did nothing wrong, yet received so much hate it was like WW III had started. It wasn't like his music was that god awful, though I understand why people wouldn't like it. But still, that's not a reason to go meta tier shit posting on it. There's just this sort of group-hate spewing power that just spreads like a wildfire and blows everything way beyond reasonable proportions. One person starts shouting, then the next joins in, then people who have hardly spoken a word before. And suddenly it's just a wild fury of hate and disgust. #1984

There are plenty of people here who like the manga. Negative feedback is just more readily posted than positive ones. Tbh dynasty scans is pretty mild compared to some other sites out there. Part of the reason being gatekeeper Nez-chan. (Thank you for your continuous work and effort.)

This manga has one of the worst writing I've seen in a yuri series ever. I like Yuzu a lot and I feel bad for her, I'd love to take her out of this trash manga and put her in another yuri romance where she can be with a girl who deserves her love, but those are just my delusions. It's so obvious this cheap, poor excuse of an arc will end with Yuzu and Mei married.

Just cause a story has less happy parts and the characters have to go through struggles and hardships doesn't make it bad. You might not like the fact, but it doesn't mean it's awful writing.

Except it's bad writing. Read the manga as a whole so far, the author loves contrived, cheap drama. But she doesn't know how to cause the drama, so she adds a third whole to the scheme (gramps, Matsuri, twins, Harumin's sister, Shirapon, the gramps/fiance again). This happens every arc. It's repetitive, it doesn't make sense how contrived it is, and it's a cheap way to cause drama. I'm fine with a story having sad moments, but this is plain shit-tier writing.

It's more about Mei's development than anything else really, and yeah Saburo Uta 'drags it on' by adding new characters, but that's just to keep the story going and create new situations for Mei to develop in. What do you want her to do? Derail this manga's plot and initial setting suddenly warping them into a completely different style of plot development and continuation so as to make it higher tier quality? If the author wanted that she'd have made it so from the beginning. But she doesn't, she's just writing a cliche filled drama about Mei and her growth through meeting and falling in love with Yuzu.
If you want something fancier then go read something else. It's been 36 chapters, you should have been able to figure out whether you like it and want to continue reading it or not. Just cause something is cliche'd and not very intricate and difficult at first sight doesn't mean it's horribly bad. Just means it's not your thing.

Every time, again and again, I'm just perplexed, flabbergasted, blown away by this author's art. Amazingly emotional and beautiful. I can feel it.

I really enjoy this artist's style

Ikr, wasn't expecting this at ALL. But it's still nice to appreciate their art. Even though it's not my preferred couple.

I get why people would dislike this manga, but I find it nice reading something docile. Btw this blond girl is giving me Sakurako vibes
