High levels of chaos in this manga

I can't fathom folks showing up to a new work from one of vanishingly few mangaka (or published authors in general) repping committed aro/ace relationships to say "gosh, I hope this one is more like everything else I read!"

I'll be eager to see how Usui develops the story either way, but that's because I trust her not to feel beholden to every romance trope.

I really hope that there will be more ace-aro narratives in the future. So much good stuff to explore! Confusion, tender feelings, independence, societal pressure, friendship/romance distinctions, more confusion, platonic affection, deciding your own relationship rules, cuddling without lewdness... I mean, I would consume tons of that if it were more available.

I have yet to see any chemistry between these two, but I suppose I'll give it a couple more chapters to see if I want to continue reading or not.

Subjective opinion: Kissing in manga is beautiful, kissing in real life is weird and kinda gross. I'm guessing if they had kissed, it would have been awkward, considering that Asako is doing it for Science.

Yeah. My favorite two things about this story were how they dealt with the theme of consent and also how the prince felt like a realistic butch person in some ways -- the author actually explored what her gender expression meant to her as opposed to what it meant to others. I don't know... it just felt fairly grounded compared to other manga with similar tropes.

As per usual, here I am getting emotionally attached to characters I have never seen the source material for, simply because my appetite for yuri is insatiable.

I feel like Erika could be such a good girlfriend for Koto, if Koto could give her a chance. Erika strikes me as a very patient person, so she could tolerate Koto's selfishness. I enjoyed the cute date in the most recent chapter, and the lock screens :)

The specific term is 腰, which can mean either lower back, waist, or hips. It's just that some of those terms apply better to certain contexts than others.

And also the word "hip" or ヒップ transliterated from English is used to mean the buttocks sometimes, so that whole area of the body is very difficult (for me anyway) to understand when translating from English to Japanese and vice versa. I'm actually still unsure from the context if the salacious senpai meant that Ruka's butt was her weak spot, or her hips or her waist....?
