Rinna took one of the fastest L’s I’ve ever seen.

The Mangaka tried to salvage it, but it’s really hard to read the last few chapters and not feel like the creator was told to wrap this series up pretty suddenly.

Still an enjoyable series though, and seeing them all older was cute

Yeah I think one of the more refreshing aspects of this series was how small scale Rei’s goal are compared to your average Isekai. Rei still gets the protagonist power boost in terms of magic, but the series really isn’t about combat most of the time, and she has no lofty grand plans for taking everything over.

It feels realistic in a lot of ways. Like if I was in a game I had completely memorized I’d also probably do everything I can to accommodate my needs without rocking the boat much, going from having extensive knowledge about something to the fear of the unknown is real as shit lol.

Another thing I just noticed: On the very first page of the first chapter, next to the picture of Shizuku and Kaori and Kaori's letter there's the axolotl plushie Shizuku bought for Kaori. If we assume that the room shown is Shizuku's, that pretty much confirms that Kaori is already dead at that point

The start of chapter 2 made me laugh when she said, she'd make herself fall in love so as not to have any regrets.. I get that it's hard to be happy for the fact that she did a good thing when her education took a hit over it but using someone to fill that hole, doesn't feel right. Honestly this poor girl doesn't owe the MC anything. It's not right. Anyone feel that or am I well off?

I think like would’ve been more appropriate there, but there must have been something in the original text that made them use love instead.

That’s also some weird metaphysical location that doesn’t seem really connected to the real story, so maybe it was supposed to be foreshadowing or something

Either way it’s pretty clear in the actual story early on her main goal is trying to like her in the sense that she just doesn’t get mad or annoyed when interacting with her, not actually trying to fall in love lol

Damn that chapter really hit me where I live. I can’t speak for dying obviously, especially that young, but they really hit the nail on the head about people who have to live on after someone dies. It can just eat away at a person, corrode every part of their life

the fact that 23.5 went from 0 to 100 real quick made me tear up a bit

I said it last chapter but it’s been pretty clear Nagisa has been hiding the goods since chapter 1, it’s kinda refreshing it’s never been brought up until an appropriate beach chapter though.

My only real gripe with this series is we’re really dragging out the mixed signals stuff for longer than it feels we should. We’re in volume 3 territory and I’m gonna be real sad if this is a series that ends when they get together, it’s got some legs and I wanna see them actually dating for awhile.

Damn I thought we were in for this months chapter and one final one….this is gonna be brutal to end in a single chapter…we just teased development for the two girls back at the school…

But I don’t think the series got axxed, at least not suddenly, we were teased that we were heading to the climax like a volume ago, so at the very least the author has had some sort of time frame to work with to end it

Oh shit yeah I didn’t realize the suicide attempt was two chapters ago, the 2nd from last chapter being all about the girls back at school instead of our leads is definitely sus…maybe the author had a full volume of ideas left before the ending?

It had been a long time since I read the first chapter, but going back to it now, Saki was barely concealing her gayness from the start. Wouldn't be surprised if her mom suspected, lol. I'm glad to have a new non-subtext yuri series from Kuzushiro.

I thought it seemed pretty obvious that Saki was gay but I haven’t read any of Kukuzhiro’s other works so I didn’t know if this was just gonna end up like tropical fish with endless baiting.

Rereading chapter 1 it seems heavily implied that Saki’s mom knows she’s gay, or at least suspects it with the way she said “but you were never into piano that much were you?”

Saki at the very least was pretty causal with how she blushed at kanon the first time they met while noticing her looks. He being gay seemed pretty apparent, but I really didn’t suspect she had a thing for her piano teacher.

The fact that we didn’t really get in Saki’s head was pretty clever way of not making the crush more obvious. She was clearly upset, but without more elaboration it could just be chalked up to being frustrated a teacher that’s been in your life for a long time is moving on.

But with this newest chapter and looking back that pure black panel when her mom says she was never into piano that much and her reaction really drives it home what it was really about.

Still I’m not fully sure if that’s her mom being fully aware, or if the black panel is supposed to be saki taking those words the absolute worst was. It’s hard to tell without hearing how the mom says it, but it seems pretty plausible she might have picked up on it maybe from the way saki talked about her teacher or something over the years idk

So can we officially add the Yuri tag for this series? Seems pretty fitting now lol.

Really interesting chapter though, and kinda re-contextualizes the first chapter for me. She really had the hots for teacher, and sees some sort of resemblance to her in Kanon. Wonder how long we’re gonna let these emotions simmer

Sucks to hear it’s ending last chapter, was an enjoyable series. I really can’t stand how quickly we end series after the will they won’t they aspect is over, there’s so much more interesting takes to be told about a couple once they start going out and exploring that.

It also feels really sudden, I’m more sure if the creator just didn’t have a solid ending planned out or if this was a sudden ending for them as well, chapter 14 felt like we speed ran Mei’s decision. I’ll be curious to see how we wrap up Rinna’s storyline now.

Airi destroyed her own social life. Ignoring she’s at fault for everything, she also chose to handle the leaks in the absolute worst way possible. She called them fake news, faked cutting herself, blew up at Hina in front of the whole school, beat the shit out of her which only fueled more gossip, and stopped coming to school of her own accord.

Hina put the final nail in the coffin by gaslighting her into not going back to school, but Airi made every possible wrong decision she could before that.

Her own ego and pride refusing to just deal with being looked at as a little creep for a few weeks is what destroyed her social life
