Whoa, 99% sure she just killed that guy. 100% sure he is maimed for life if not. Either way, I think it's fine, but...

Would be so completely perfect without the smoking. No, nobody who hates smoke wants to breathe that no matter whose it is, so maybe stop. It's so good otherwise though that I will have to continue reading...

I reread the story. You're right, and that certainly solves the tag issue - but the whole rest of the story becomes a very different, and darker, piece. Yumi is revealed as a sly manipulator that has been stringing Yoeko along for years, since childhood really, by pretending to be an airhead. Even after having a boyfriend and having a child by him, she is still keeping a grip on Yoeko as her security blanket.

Given the title, I suppose I should've been able to figure it out on my own, but my mind was bent on casting this as another sad "unrequited love" story. So I was definitely wrong - but it also seems to put Yumi firmly within the "depraved bisexual" trope, so I'm not sure how much of a good thing that is.

"Bisexual" tag feels like wishful thinking here, honestly. There's nothing that says to me that Yumi either knows about or returns Yoeko's feelings.

Thanks for your work, Euphowolf.

This is quite a neat start. Reminds me a lot of one of the greatest "Lost Treasures of Yuri":

Let's hope this one is actually finished.

This story would've been much weaker without the fingering, which was hotter and more tastefully depicted than many, many other works that aspire to be erotic yuri.

Thank you, Scanaloupe.

Anyway, good but sadly short.

My my, how wonderful. I don't think I've seen such a perfectly tailored wish-fulfillment fantasy of this type since Kashimashi

Have you read Tensei Pandemic?

I have read some now that you mentioned it, and it's terrible. Hina hates being a girl, "would do anything" to change back, and Akira starts acting like a sexually harassing asshole boy the moment they change. This kind of ecchi genderbender "comedy" is a far cry from what I was talking about/looking for.

My my, how wonderful. I don't think I've seen such a perfectly tailored wish-fulfillment fantasy of this type since Kashimashi - but this is actually superior, because Kashimashi was always careful to avoid allowing Hazumu to openly express pleasure at the change. How bittersweet it is...

Thank you very much, Plykiya. I hope there is much more.

Another sad case of a character's personality being completely rewritten because "localizers" stubbornly refuse to just put a single word/syllable on the ends of sentences.

This was excellent, and we could do with 100% less pearl-clutching prudishness over two adults having a mutually consensual, mutually enjoyable tryst. We have way too much of that around here with regard to harmless fantasy fetishes as it is, let alone something as utterly tame and reasonable as this, but Dynasty commenters never miss a chance to stand on the summit of moral judgement and look down.

Only real problem here is that Iwana Ai denied herself pleasure due to cultural mores. Japan, a fastidious place, has a prevailing expectation that both parties MUST shower both immediately before and immediately after sex. In fact, the time and effort involved in this logistical dance is one of the reasons people there have come to view sex as not worth the effort required.

On a final note, I find it amusing that although depicted and described as black-haired within the story, on the cover of the doujin Ai's hair is auburn. Oh, and I did laugh a lot, as I always do, at the ubiquity of self-actuating hips.

Ah, this chapter is blissful... The best part of the story is beginning to unfold right here. No more misunderstandings, no more hurt. Their feelings are connected, finally. And now Yuu is fantasizing about closing the last gap...

I'm fond of saying that "Yuri is the Crown of MIracles". This is both a Strawberry Panic reference, and a recognition of the fact that in so many stories, it is yuri, the power of two girls in love, that creates a miracle and saves the day, the world, the universe. There can be little doubt left that YagaKimi deserves to be what it seems to have become - the current Crown Jewel of Yuri.

Some people here have a gut reaction towards something unpleasant and I don't think they will change their mind even after the inevitable reveal of Nene's situation.

That was my point, actually. People have formed premature decisions about how things should be, and will very likely continue to stubbornly cling to those notions even after things have clearly changed. Your post basically says "People are going to continue to hate Nene to matter what happens after this because they already made up their minds to do so." Thank you for agreeing with me that that will happen - who could do otherwise, it is human nature after all. Glad we are on the same page.

I'm not even going to look at the comments. They're probably all about how Nene is a terrible bitch and doesn't deserve happiness even though she's pretty clearly been hurt somehow. While that doesn't forgive what she's doing here, I'd be shocked to find out she actually deserves the level of rancor I expect this chapter to generate.

This, and,

I think she's a misunderstood teen girl who's been told constantly not to show emotion or smile because she's somehow "better" by not being herself--whereas she got to constantly see Amane, the person she was probably closest to, be praised for being awesome and attractive and all that by being "allowed" to be her (albeit exuberant) self. And it gave her a complex. And was probably too much for her to handle, so she tried to create distance, but was stymied by how desperate Amane was to keep her in her life, and probably by her own miasma of contradictory feelings. "I love this person, but it also hurts to be with this person".

Now she's found a cute little camera girl who tells her how great she is when she's just herself. That her smile is OKAY, and even desirable. I can see why her behavior is weird, and why she's pursuing Kou. Even the nasty "look at me" display in the cafe; it was just that. "Look at me, I am accepted for myself now too, you're not the only one. Can you please finally let go of me?"

This. The vitriol against Nene is hilarious in its lack of self-awareness, both of the fact that you the audience are being skillfully manipulated by a good author to overwrought and premature convictions about what is or should be happening, and of the fact that you still know very little about Nene's true history and mindset and are willfully discounting the clues you've already been given.

People who claim to have "years of reading yuri" should have more insight into the path this has taken so far and is likely to take in future: that is, a full explication of Nene's character and past in such a way that is likely to turn the narrative just as convincingly back in her direction - only to perhaps shift again, and yet again, before the end. Watch, wait, and stop making hills to emotionally die on regarding who is right and wrong, good and bad, innocent and guilty.

Late catching up to this, I just want to say, let Kou and Nene be together. Whatever Nene's reasons for breaking up with Amane, Nene at least has clearly moved on to a genuine and heartfelt interest in Kou. There is nothing romantic about exes getting back together, it's almost invariably a bad move in general, and in Nene and Amane's case in particular, there are just too many spiteful feelings built up between them to ever recover. Nene has moved on and Amane needs to as well - though NOT to the villain of the piece Uchiho.

In any case, having now looked at the chapter 7 raws, my overriding feeling is still as it was:

The impossibly hot teacher is going to waste so far. Let Amane end up with HER and I'll consider it a big win for everyone.

... does-does this count as lolicon? The nee-chan doesn't seem to want to eat the loli. It can be seen as platonic, even. Maybe some years down the road, their relationship will change, but for now...

It's at times like these I wish "loli" would be decoupled from "lolicon" in the tags. There is a loli in this story, but for all that, it was really very wholesome. "Lolicon" implies a predatory aspect that is not actually present in numerous stories labeled with it.

Quite possibly the most shounen yuri start I've ever seen. Looking forward to more...although let's hope the amount of actual, substantive yuri remains high. Long gone are the days I could fully trust Yuri Hime; this could easily fall into another of their low-yuri-broaden-genre-appeal gambits.

Regardless of how it turns out, thanks C9B.

Very intriguing beginning, lots of interesting things going on. Definitely need Sensei to get in on the yuri though, preferably with the MC, or it will feel like a missed opportunity.

Ah look, it's another episode of "mei is waifu declares a yuri story is not actually yuri and viciously attacks anyone who thinks otherwise". Fast becoming one of my least favorite episodes of Dynasty Comments.

Also,

You realize she's being peer pressured into being a tomboy, right? Not the other way around.

This. She never wanted to be a "tomboy", it was a role she was being pressured into against her will.

If only it worked like this, but it doesn't. Kirigaya had been completely, gleefully unrepentant up until now, even admitting she knew she was doing wrong the whole time. The only thing that changed is she got called on it, not what a completely shit person she is and always has been. The author can attempt to wrap things up with a few Deus Ex Machina lines saying "she just went through a complete, redemptive emotional/personal transformation in this instant" all they want, but I don't buy it.

I like to believe this is a yuri win. God knows my yuri goggles have thick lenses. However, I keep going back to Fuwako's line "I'm sorry for being inconsiderate this whole time." That says to me, I'm sorry for letting my boyfriend intrude on our friendship, not I love you. Let's be a couple.

It says to me, "I'm sorry for never realizing/recognizing your feelings and that you had to suffer in silence until now." She then continues, now in full knowledge and understanding of those feelings, "I want to be with you forever." The final lines about a new jewelry box "without a key" are a callback to the very first lines on the first page, showing how the situation has changed, and that she was wrong that her feelings would never reach. They did, and were accepted.

As I said, Fuwako shows signs of clear attraction to Arisa throughout the story, and at the end, there is no "sorry, I can't return your feelings" etc., no equivocations about the choice she's clearly making to be with Arisa from now on. I really can't understand how it could reasonably be seen otherwise.

The mental gymnastics people here will do to convince themselves something is not yuri. Amazing. This was clearly a yuri end. Fuwako had been blushy over Arisa all the way through, and at the end she makes her choice. Everything about the final scene is arranged to make that as clear as it needs to be, and if you think otherwise you have trust issues from reading too many actual Bad End stories.
