Can a PM system be implemented? There's a lot of cool people on here that I would love to chat with, but can't, and that's one of the main reasons I even join websites.

Ah, that makes sense. Yeah, highly artistic and obscure narratives tend to ward off people.

Interesting insight! What was the problem, BTW?

Has the staff said anything regarding Yuri though? As I said, going that route seems risky after Flip Flappers failed...

Still no idea why they had to make the games main pairing incestuous >>

If this ends up true (and I wouldn't be surprised, considering how Flip Flappers bombed), I expect this thread to explode in an inferno.

Can I just say how shocking it that the manga is running? I mean, do even Nanoha fans care about the current content?

You know, it's incredible how much more attractive the Bhikhkuni girls are compared to the Mermaid girls. The Mermaid girls look...greasy.

Yep. This leads to there often being way more fanart of random BL pairings, even when there's an actual femslash pairing that's one of the main ships of the story (looking at you, Danganronpa fandom...).

It's part of why I respect Kenichirou Takaki as a creator. The man has made no secret of never deffering to audience interests, and one of the things he's openly disliked is a series of otherwise completely girls just having a token guy to fawn over. That's why Senran Kagura is considerably more open about lesbians existing than other works of a simular type.

FYI, YoI sold RIDICUOUSLY well. Literally the only series to my knowledge that have beaten it are Monogatrai, PMMM and one of the Gundam series.

Also, remember that yaoi is never targeted to gay men, but straight women (fujoshi as term exists for a reason). It's less "positive LGBT rep" in many cases and more "disturbed fem-otaku". Really, a lot of the stuff from the 70s is more respectful...

The director literally referenced a TV kiss on twitter the day that episode aired. There is no argument here.

YoI isn't "queerbait", it just takes loops to avoid actually acknowledging Victor and Yuuri's relationship directly in dialogue.

Anime productions are not fast performances. Some anime for manga get planned as soon as the first takabon hits stands, despite usually coming out years into the manga's actual run.

Edit: Bunch of reasons. New studio, niche genre in yuri, magical girl series that is neither marketed towards kids nor is part of the darker line in the vein of PMMM, the list goes on.

That's the fault of pacing IMO. Only the first novel (which the first season covered) really focused on Reina as a character. Thus, people got into their head that she was the secondary main character.

Flip Flappers bombed, FYI.

Yeah, I won't defend Reina's character arc. All it did was make her selfish and clingy, and in the end I don't think anyone really wanted her to end up with Kumiko after what she turned into. Kumiko's arc was fine though, and that's, you know the point of Hibake.

I know it's a bit hyperbolic to say on the Yuri based site, but maybe people shouldn't expect their desired ships to come true. Any hate I see on Hibake is left entirely on the lack of romantic resolution rather than the actual narrative of the story.

Speaking as a TV Tropes editor, don't use the Ho Yay pages. They're a desolate mixture of validity and nonsense.

Also, this might get me lynched, but, considering the narrative arc and how the drama went, there's no real way the Hibake anime could've avoided what happened with Reina. Her character in the novels is so tied to her crush on Taki that excising it would've basically left her without a purpose in the plot. Oh, and Kumiko didn't end up with Shuichi in the anime (and I've heard that only happened in the novels due to editorial interference anyway).
