"This is a generic 4-koma school life comedy that is considered Yuri only by the kinds of people who cannot imagine two women sharing a room who are not in love."
"Overall Ratings:
Yuri – Not there
Interest – Not really worth reading"So the admins tagged it as subtext only, not yuri, and loads of readers believed it. That's why there used to be so many posts debating the 'hints of dating' between them, and whether we as could assume them to be a couple. In time the admins realized their mistake and corrected the tagging, and that was how the silly debate came to an end. And the admins learned a lesson: never trust Erica Friedman, never.
Oh God, Erica Friedman, she tried claiming that YagaKimi was about a coercive non consensual relationship, which Is weird because YagaKimi emphasizes consent more than any yuri manga I've ever read. She also tried claiming that Yuu wasn't in love with Touko all the way upto volume 5. She makes me wonder if she even reads the manga she reviews.
As I said on the Yagakimi thread, it was that review that brought me to the Dynasty forum, hoping to find an alternative take, because that one seemed so very wrong-headed. (There arguably are some disturbing aspects to the story’s setup, but “consent” isn’t the issue—that kissing scene in the student council room could be used in a university information pamphlet explaining “incremental consent.”)
As a superficial reading of the very early parts of that series, however, before the tone and overall direction became clearer, her review of YagaKimi possibly could be defended as just a wrong and superficial reading.
But the bullshit of that summary sentence on this series is something else entirely—the contempt and even malice in that blatantly obvious misreading is quite appalling. (“Not what I call yuri”?—sure, whatever. But that “the kind of people who” business is just a gratuitous insult, on top of being profoundly wrong.)
Ya she did A write up on Maria Watches Over Us 20th anniversary begging of last year and had stuff directly wrong in it including who is a student in which grade in relation to their connection with the main cast. She also talks about it being based in a fantasy world because cell phones don't exist. Except they do exist in it and play a significant role in part of the later volumes. Also the author directly states in the author notes at the end of one volume that they are banned at the school so most girls don't have them because of the lack of use they would have for them.
Wait her issue with making out is that they were in public!?
Sakurako once again defining more her views on her relationship with Kasumi. Sometimes I think there is the risk of Kasumi having enough of Sakurako being over the top but then you see stuff where she comes and picks her up from work. The emintaly lazy don't want to go out and move around got up and went out at night just to pick her up. Stuff like that then shows the relationship is at no risk and is solid even if not verbally defined between them.
Knowing Sakurako I wouldn't put it past her actually being able to develop a way for two women to conceive a child together if she put her mind to it..
Somehow it feels odd to watch a series and see the characters go from first year highschool student to 20 year old college kids drinking alcohol and getting drunk.

It will be hilarious watching people heads explode if the author ever just randomly drops in a sex scene or even just a clearly defined before and after scenes.
They are already in their 20s so it isn't even like a underage issue is there anymore.
Why is the author in such a rush to move time along in the story and why is Sakurako being turned into such a fetish girl? Otherwise nice chapters. It b nice to see them just openly state they are a official couple instead of this limbo of acting like they are in many ways but same time not.
Ironically, only Kasumi was shown to be violent when she get jealous. At this point I'm pretty sure Sakurako is all bark and no bite
Oh Sakurako is an absolute pushover. With Kasumi that much is expected, as she is like her obedient housewife/pet dog, but the same goes for pretty much anyone who gets close to her.
Even Hinako who is sort of a rival (at least has a crush on the same girl) walks all over Sakurako. She acts all rejecting, but she actually always does what Hina wants anyway. We just saw it with the curry again. Saku is really too nice.
Or a masochist.
I kind of wish their relationship would normalize a bit so it didn't seem like Kasumi just annoyed tolerates Sakurako's antics at times (Possibly because she feeds her and stuff.) and Sakurako wasn't so over the top with her obsession with Kasumi. Just have a regular loving relationship.
Maybe they'll pull a Their Story and say "That day, Touko didn't show up..." and then the next chapters are ambiguous or they start focusing on the relationship with Akari and the glasses guy. Sayaka disappears too without reason.
I never found out why Tan Jiu did that to her plot. Oh well
Chinese Government's laws against LGBT works put a halt on pretty much everyone, since then the comic has been handled as best as she can to continue.
Of course that would never happen here, but I'm just wondering about possible scenarios... I really really wish that whatever might happen against them, could happen AFTER their encounter and not in the middle.
What happened to Tamen de Gushi?
China put into affect strict media censorship laws that people can face fines if not jail time for "violating". Right after that the series physical publisher tried making the author remove the yuri element from the series. Author refused so then the published dropped the series. Author continued on with the online releases but as saw the series lost direction for a long time and the culmination of the plot line that happen just before kind of got forgot.
When all is said and done I hope we get to see Yuu and Touko come out to Yuu parents or just having a open relationship without needing to hide things so they can have the good and accepted type of relationship Yuu sister and her bf have. For the two to be able be a coupe and spend time/nights at each others house would be great.
If they come out to anyone, better start with friends, I think. They sort of, kind of, technically already did to Sayaka and Maki. I think it won't be hard to come out to Koyomi (the play she wrote has a yuri couple, afterall) or Doujima (a fellow student council member); of course, people like @BugDevil (did I spell the username correctly? I forgot if there was an underdash in it or not) and myself are also shipping Midori and Manaka, so it comes as no surprise that I'd think that coming out to them would be easy. This just leaves Akari and Natsuki as people I don't know what they'd think of. I think they're gonna accept, but there have been little to no hints of that.
Now, the next best bet (even better than some of those in the previous paragraph) would definitely be Rei. She already guessed what was going on, and already decided to support her sister, and I think Hiro might be in the same boat, too. Rei did mention that her and Yuu's dad might initially be opposed, but eventually convinced, but that their mom is the actual problem about all that, and their grandma would surely side with her daughter (Yuu and Rei's mom), so I'm not sure how they'd go beyond that. I honestly have no effing idea what will Touko’s parents think about it, so I can only hope for the best.
Still, by far the most likely adults to be accepting of that are, of couse, Riko and Miyako, themselves a lesbian couple. This still leaves Ichigaya in the "I'm not sure wether they will support or not" category, but he's kinda leaning more to the "will" side of that spectrum.
Aaah, can't believe I wasted over 20 minutes for this post!EDIT: Hopefully, it'd be worth it.
I think Touko's parents would actually be pretty easy. I think after them having to watch what Touko put herself through and the self imposed suffering she has dealt with I think they would just be happy to see Touko find some happiness and someone who will care about Touko and support her in ways they weren't able to. In whatever form it comes as long as it is safe.
Doujima certainly isn't the classiest dude around and definitely acts pretty boorish at times, but OTOH for all his shameless ogling of the hot sempais I can't remember him ever being anything but well-behaved and friendly in his actual interactions with the girls and we have every reason to believe he's handling his SC duties with due diligence and competence. (Can't really picture Touko and Sayaka keeping him around if he didn't, anyway...)
In short a basically decent chap with some mildly irritating quirks. P sure we've all met those at some point.
Doujima is this series version of Suguru Kashiwagi from Maria Watches Over Us. Everyone loves to hate on him because he is a very male character in a mainly girl focused cast series that they see as a threat to their female characters relationships. He shows some regular male behavior(Not saying only males can act like that.) like how Suguru is shown as being a bit arrogant/overconfident and crass(sp) and everyone locks on that and completely ignore how caring he is and how extremely protective he is of Sachiko and Yumi including Touko(Maria watches Over Us one). There are some stuff in the LNs that get left out in the anime that would really impress people how far he is willing to go to protect Yumi on more than one occasion. Doujima is the same way. He is shown to have the behavior of a typical teenage boy but is also shown to never actually do anything bad towards the girls and is even shown to be really caring when he comforts Akari after she find out the truth about the guy she liked.
Btw is there a way to quote more than one post at a time without having to just copy and paste additional one?

It's almost certainly just going to turn out that she just didn't get along with ordinary humans and has chosen to become cynical and distant and is now concluding that her experience is a 100% true rule for everyone.
It is clear she has a jaded view but at the same time we have to remember Yuki was treated really shitty herself even by her own parents and is why she is so neurotic.
Sakurako would be that super clingy girlfriend who would drive guys nits and then not understand why they keep breaking up with her. Then you have Kasumi who might just die if they ever actually had sex she has so little strength and stamina. But damn do I love this pair.
So we got one yuri series where the nice girl bullies/teases the delinquent and now here we have the delinquent bullying/teasing the nice girl.
Feels like there needs to be a parents make a appearance tag for this chapter.
I'm just imaging what will happen if this manga continues on to when Sakurako hits the legal drinking age and she gets drunk around Kasumi. Think she is bad now imagine when all inhibitions are removed.
Ya this wasn't a party or a mixer. It was a setup to try take advantage of girls by getting them alone and then trying get them drunk to get them go home with a guy or guys. Funny how Yamada was 18 but was directly sat with a drink menu right in front of her. It the kind of thing where admittance and drinks are free for the girls but guys have to pay on the side.
So instead of fixing the localization problem with using first names in the dubs with this episode that was about them switching to using first names they instead mostly rewrote the dialog.Instead being switching to first names it is making nicknames. While the walking conversation between Yuu and Touko is kind of cute the council room scenes is a mess and makes no sense. They had over a month to fix the localization but instead chose to stick with it and choose this poor way to address it. They could fixed it early and only had a couple episodes to redo but didn't
HIDIVE's subs are particularly bad even by official subs standards and should be avoided. Asenshi fixes 99% of the official sub's problems, and with the honorifics patch 99.9% of the problems are fixed.
...well, I thought you were talking about the official subs. Shit like this is why I don't watch dubs in the first place.
Problem is I don't torrent stuff I don't even know what program to use to do it. They don't seem to be listed on streaming sites either that I know of.

Waaaaait! This is adorable, but what about the kidnappers? Who´s gonna set them on fire and free the beastkins? Also, why did Mel need to cover her ears and tail again?
Mel is a slave in a country that endorses slavery of her kind. Places that have slaves tend to not like the slave taken to areas that don't have slavery and be set free.
Every chapter they become more and more like a married couple.
Wish homosexual marriage was allowed in Japan.I thought it's already legal in japan https://youtu.be/9lQL8VDpxiA
I don't remember exact details, but only few districts in Tokyo passed law that allows for same sex couples to enter civil union (or whichever term it was) and those certificates are not honored anywhere else, so if you do go for it, you're pretty much tied only to those few places. So for all intents and purposes, gay marriage still doesn't exist in Japan. I decided to fake a marriage with my junior (♀️) to shut my parents up, actually even uses it as plot point.
That is the exact same thing the video said..

But it is ok to marry inanimate objects there it seems. A man just recently married a hologram of a I think vocaloid.
On today's episode of YURI CONSPIRACY:
Is something wrong with Kasumi? Let's look at the evidence. She has 5 major symptoms : Drowsiness at all times, Lethargy, Heat AND Cold Intolerance, Severely Increased Appetite, and an Inability to Gain Weight. All of these point to some sort of hormonal disorder, but the odd thing is that the first two symptoms point to having too few of some type of hormone, while the last two point to having too much of one.
Given that the third symptom more aligns with hyperthyroidism, we're left to conclude that She must have both Hyperthyroidism, AND some form of Narcolepsy. Like in an episode of House M.D.Mmmm, as per these symptoms, and applying elemental weaknesess from RPG, it's very likely that what's actually happening is that Kasumi is slowly turning into a zombie.
I'm calling that future chapters will reveal A Room for Two happens in the same universe as School Live, only that the zombification here is kept in check thanks to the sheer power of Sakurako's gayness.
There has to be a Patient zero somewhere..
serious question for you guys, would you have a girlfriend as affectionate as sakurako? i feel like in real life it'll be a bit suffocating to be in a relationship like that considering how clingy she is.
My response is the same as I had for Hori-san in Horimiya. Fun to watch but someone you would run for the hills from in real life.
Thinking about it Sakurako had no allowance and didn't work all through HS only living off of her new years money. What is Hina doing for money? I can't see her having it together enough to have saved up her money or budget it. Especially if neither them can cook.
I guess we now know why Sakurako has personal space issues She grew up never being able to have any herself so she doesn't understand how to maintain it with others.
We certainly seem to be having a shift in Kasumi's thinking in that she is starting to become more conscious of her relationship with Sakurako and initiating intimate moments herself more readily.
And suddenly this turns into Bright and Cheery Amnesia.

You sure are funny, there are a lot of contries who enslave others humans, but they won't say that to the world ofc. please inform yourself before saying such a thing.
You have just said it, according TO HUMANS LAWS. HUMANS AREN'T GODS who have the right to decide of how others species have to live. Though they want to be, want to control others everything and animals.
Please reread what I wrote ealier.
Humans laws should apply only to humans not others species.Yes, forced labor is still legal in many countries, usually as the punishment for a crime. And some degree of slavery exists illegally in the form of human trafficking or indentured servitude. Neither of those things applies at all to Mel's situation. Plus they aren't the same as chattel slavery.
And yes, I go by human laws and human definitions. Humans are the only animals that have laws and the power to enforce them. Maybe you disagree with that and think it's wrong, but that's just the way it is. Let me know when dogs or monkeys or whatever establish their own rule of law and gain the ability to enforce it.
Just to toss in 2 cent though I dunno what the whole convo is. Some animals do have laws and enforce them. Crows and ravens even have what is called a crows court where they punish other crows who commit crimes like stealing food from younger crows. At times even with a sentence of death where they will gang up and kill the offending crow.
Gushing about the episode every week might get a bit repetitive, so let's sum up the bad parts!
........
.....
I mean... They kinda stretched the investigation into Touko's sister a bit... which gave it more weight that she was hiding it... which is an inoffensive and ostensibly good addition...?Yeah, no, this anime rocks. Can't even pretend to find flaws. (not so flawless on the subs though)
Alright... in that scene where Sayaka and Yuu had that little talk, I must admit Sayaka sounded much less friendly than I remember it being in my head while reading the manga.
I dunno how well you can read the mood, but the manga didn't portray it as a friendly chat either. Sayaka was quite antagonistic.
Sayaka is basically staking her territory to someone that she views as an encroaching rival, but she's also trying to persuade her to be helpful and cooperative, so it's a pretty complex scene. I think it was handled pretty excellently.
At this pace, I feel like the season is structured to reach it's climax with the showing of the play. They'll probably tighten up the preparations so that the plot of the play itself is more of a surprise to the viewer? We've got what, six episodes left? So sports festival, training camp, Aquarium date, culture festival prep, and then the play is spread over the last two, probably, with maybe the last half of the last episode about Yuu building towards confessing, ending on a hopeful note.
I really won't be surprised if they skip over the training camp. While a fun part for reads it doesn't have much impact on the over all story compared to other stuff.
I do think the character art could been better and not so separated in style from the backgrounds though it did feel like it improved some in the last episode.

^^ Well, I don't even look at the subs most of the time, but the few times I did they seemed relatively accurate, at least to the idea.
About the "creepy" aspect, it's just the whole "Stay unable to love so that I can use you as a comfort pillow" thing. The VA's delivery might have something to do with it too.
I was wondering if somebody actually wrote the text on Koyomi's novel or if it was just gibberish.
Someone said from skimming over it that it appeared to be a story. Apparently the manga author had a hand in the anime and wrote the novel pages and letter for the anime.
