It's interesting to see the "popular x unpopular" relationship from the former's point of view. It's usually told from the latter perspective, as a Prince Charming narrative. As others have mentioned, this story is reminiscent of Useless Princess.

No, I'd shit on this if Minagi didn't learn anything and develop as a character.

That was cute, but I don't know if there really are japanese people who don't even know words like "awesome" or "love" in english.

They might know it as "rabu." But if they heard a fluent English speaker say "love," I imagine some of them wouldn't recognize the word.

Remember that the Japanese language doesn't have the "L" sound, and most of the Japanese population only hears English from native Japanese speakers.

Sounds more like a prequel, to me.

It's a subversion of "genderbending = metaphor for transgender" trope. Instead of the genderbent protagonist's story being a metaphor for being trans, it's a metaphor for being non-binary and/or genderfluid.

Wait, what's happening in the last panel? Who said Yuu-chan? Was Yuri just Yuu-chan disguised?

The idea is that Tomoko can affect Yuri's facial expression with her speech. The exaggeration of it is that Tomoko's speech can change Yuri's face, thus the punchline of Tomoko saying "Yuu-chan" to change Yuri's face into Yuu's.

Based on the latest chapter, Anna does appear to have larger breasts than most of the other characters.
