I think Tomoko's circle of friends will probably be there to stop that from happening, and lend the support she needs. Well, I could also see it being wrapped up privately between Tomoko and Ucchi, but I think it would be more fun to get the whole cast involved.

Ooh, it's the same artist that made this one. What a legend.

For some reason the "lazy Sakurako" strip really cracked me up. I actually started laughing out loud.

Personally, I always found the scenes between Eiko and the teacher to be off putting at best. What drove the show for me was Hana and Tama, not even just as a couple (although that too), but their personalities and dynamics within and outside of the group. Two of the most memorable scenes for me were when Hana acted like she was going to be independent and then turned around and asked her cousin to walk her through the specific social interaction (because it was both funny and actually pretty relatable), and also the scene where Hana and Tama sit on the kitchen floor and talk during their sleepover.

Anyways, that was a pretty long and pointless digression. To be more on topic, I liked this. Although it was short, it felt like a very grounded analysis/interpretation of the characters.

Wait, I just realized something! I think that maybe Sakurako is gay. Just a theory though.

After the first chapter's ending, I'm surprised that this second chapter kept an emotional and narrative continuity. The first chapter captured my interest, but this one got me invested.

Would've thought this was Yuika and Miu from Yuri Moyou if not for the different names.

@Mieru The way I saw it, Yuri was being catty with Nemo in the end, trying to rub it in that she spent alone time with Tomoko. Pretty sure that was the punchline of the whole chapter. Yuri's basically waged war against Nemo, lol.

To me, Asuka seems like Tomoko's "Girl Next Door". There's a lot of sexual tension there, but they still seem to be on different wavelengths. They haven't seemed to reach a more intimate level of understanding beyond distant acquaintances yet, despite them both trying to close the distance.

Yuri kind of already acts like Tomoko's girlfriend, but is too awkward to even realize she's doing it, and probably doesn't even realize how interested she actually is in Tomoko. They're both "loners" and have the potential to bond over their social awkwardness, but that's also a deadly combo, since they'll probably end up stumbling over a lot of miscommunications because of it.

Tomoko and Nemo have a lot of chemistry and seem to have the most natural relationship out of the three pairs. They have shared interests, the longest history, and seem to inspire each other and help each other grow. For these reasons, I personally think they have the potential to be one of the cutest possible pairings, but their relationship is also the one that most seems to lean toward "friendship" rather than "romance". Their personalities play off of each other really well, but that's also probably partly due to the fact that it feels like in comparison, the sexual and romantic tension in Tomoko's relationships with Asuka and Yuri seem to be somewhat lacking in her relationship with Nemo.

I don't really remember where I was going with this, but I guess that's my two cents on the pairings that no one asked for. I guess the point is that all three pairings are good. They just have different flavours to them, or something like that.

Haruko is honestly one of my favorite characters at the moment, so it's sad to see this one go. I love how she's so verbose and easygoing. Would've liked to see Natsuko start to get a little more serious about her. Ah well.

I've actually liked this pairing for a while. It's kind of like, "Ok, let the people who actually want to be in a relationship be in a relationship." Not that I think Touko deserves to be alone, but I could see a happy ending where she decides to be alone for better reasons than the ones she currently has.

Edit: That being said, based on the way she has acted, deep down Touko probably wants a relationship too, but she sure is difficult about it.

At this point the tag "Tomboy" have devolved into "Short Hair"
We seriously need more long-haired tomboys to counter this

Yes! I second this. Long-haired tomboys are great.

恋

This is the precious face of a maiden in love. The desire to protect is what gives Nikaidou her strength.

In all seriousness I love this series. Thank you to the scanlators and uploaders for pumping these out.

Why did I think that the white fairy was her ex-wife? Am I getting confused with a different manga?

Edit: Nevermind, I remembered what I was thinking of. I was getting this mixed up with Noroi no Aoi-chan.

Ah, that makes more sense. I haven't watched the anime yet. Just been following the manga so far.

Wow, a manga with two male protagonists and a lesbian character that didn't magically turn straight for one of them in the end. In fact, one of the "straight" characters ended up being bi. Thank you Mrs. Mangaka for respecting the gay.

The text says something like, "If you fall a little bit off tempo, that's okay" I think. My Japanese isn't great though. Can anyone confirm?

I feel like most manga that would try to make a scene like the one where Fujishiro hits the teacher would make it overly melodramatic, or have over the top reactions in some way that would really test your suspension of disbelief, but personally, I think this one was handled really well. It totally felt like something that would've happened at my highschool back in the day. Right along with the gossiping going on, and the lecture Fujishiro gets after with the suspension being thrown on top. The shitty teacher being an ass-crack and the principal and homeroom teacher being like, "yeah we understand your feelings, but that's not how the real world works." Everything just felt so totally believable. Good job on the author's part.

I feel like I missed something. When did this pairing become a thing? I don't remember these two interacting that often, at least not without Tomoko as an intermediary.

On a more positive note, the costume design is super good. Detailed and has lots of character. I especially like Honey's normal villain clothes.

I like it, but a couple things bothered me:

  1. The prologue made it seem as though Rabbit and Honey had a long history of being hero and villain to each other, but then in the actual story it seemed as though that was their first encounter. It seemed like, in their time knowing each other, Honey went from villain to crime fighting partner in the blink of an eye. I feel like that kind of cheapens the dynamic.

  2. Rabbit learns about Honey being fired and her alternate identity immediately. I thought it would've been fun to see Honey try to seduce Rabbit while Rabbit either thinks that she's still her enemy, or Rabbit doesn't realize that the person flirting with her is actually honey in disguise.

It just makes me wonder why they started as hero and villain when they could have been Hero partners from the beginning and had almost the exact same dynamic. I guess you could say it was just for the gag of her turning her back on her organization for someone she fell in love with at first sight, but she didn't really. Her boss fired her and sent an assassin after her. So it wasn't really by choice even.

Anyways, that's just me completely over-analyzing a story that I've only read a single chapter of. I still liked it, and the story still has a lot more opportunity to expand on the plot points later down the road, so it's not really much of an issue.
