At first it was pretty funny with Kasumi shooting down Sakurako’s idea for children, but as it kept happening I got the feeling that, adopted or otherwise, Kasumi didn’t really seem up for it. Every time Sakurako brought it up she would change the subject.

Interesting idea, I wonder if they’ll do anything with it.

To be fair this time it's Kasumi who brought the subject up first, and in the off chance it ever become a serious plot point, I really doubt she would be against if that would make Sakurako really happy

(A while ago I joked that to get any closer Sakurako would have to wear Kasumi as a suit, but now Kasumi’s wearing Saku as a cape. I feel like starting a Kickstarter to keep Sakurako supplied with alcohol.)

When serialization began, the author made an effort to make everything in the series fit with the pilot -- even the small details, like Kasumi's dress in her first meeting with Sakurako. In numbers, the pilot should be chapter 0 of the manga, thus as "canon" as the rest of the chapters.

While I'm pretty sure the conversation in the pilot happened at some point in the main story, the pilot itself can't be considered canon. Most pilot one shot are never canon the their serialized version, and this one is no exception considering the little difference you can find compared to the main version

I finished my reread of the manga, and I'm with BugDevil on this on. I didn't see any moment where Kasumi was "shutting down hard" Sakurako's advance to take it further mostly because there is no moment like that. I guess we could argue the recent massage chapter was such a moment, but Sakurako still managed to do what she wanted in the first place (minus the licking). And there are the drunk chapters too, but it's not really fair to count them.

We just get the reveal that Kasumi talk so much about Sakurako that her mother:
-Know her daughter really love Sakurako
-Consider the later her daughter-in-law
Like she Kasumi said, the only reason she don't go all "I love you" is because it's just that obvious, and probably because Sakurako would just go all ballistic if she hear this too often lol.

On another note, I'm pretty sure Sakurako have read some book about masochism at some point, I'm sure of it.

It's actually inline with the rest of the manga, If you look back, you can see that 1 year pass for every 10-12 chapter. I'm pretty sure the author go 1 year IRL = 1 year in the story
