^I'd say it's actually less about her family and more about Tomoko herself becoming utterly deplorable for a while, especially when she started deceiving her only existing friends and pretended a random schoolmate was her boyfriend, which really lowered my opinion of the manga a lot, although it has been working hard to leave these dark times behind. Still, that part is a big reason why my rating for this manga will probably never rise back to where it was at its start.

^It did seem like a pretty nice idea until this chapter, not quite so sure now. Less due to Nene's own behavior, which, while almost but not quite Senpai-level cruel, could have been aimed at making Amane finally give up - and Nene doesn't know Senpai already showed Amane her photos, but due to Kou's comments at the end making it likelier we could still see Nene and Amane together at the end, no matter how impossible it has seemed until now. Nene and Kou, and Senpai and Amane could still be the least painful solution, but it also depends a lot on the many unknowns in this series, especially Nene's and Senpai's underlying motivations, which could change the game entirely.

Well, part of it is definitely the callback to the original promise, but even with them relaxing in the bath like that, it also may suggest that they simply didn't consider the possibility of actually going out, either due to nor realizing it was also an option, or out of guilt over their earlier behavior. Nothing a little more time won't fix, though.

^Well, a big part of the problem was exactly that they were not in a relationship, even if she didn't quite realize this was the reason. Admittedly, her behavior was horrible indeed, but far too common in such situations where a girl suddenly seems to attract the (unwanted) attention of every guy around, even without the suppressed lesbian feelings she doesn't really understand herself pushing her much farther into jealousy than normal. I mean, I agree with you that she loved Tachibana, but her resistance throughout most of the hotel part makes it quite clear that she didn't realize this herself, or knew it was even a possibility - while Tachibana who actually realized her own feelings was similarly sure that confessing her feelings would be the end of their relationship.

On another matter, the story has been hinting that the (light-haired) former officer Miharu is looking for is Kagami’s mother, but we learn in this chapter that Miharu does remember the woman’s name.

Is “Kagami” such a common Japanese family name that Miharu wouldn’t connect that woman with her senpai? Or is this yet another mystery woman from the past?

I was lost for a moment there since we didn't learn that in this chapter and it had been a while since the last update - after re-reading the chapters so far, we learned this in fact in chapter 8.

It is a good question, though - and while it may be Kagami's mother, the lack of name recognition is now joined by Shinobu not recognizing her from the picture, although it being Miharu drawing from memory, it may not have been as similar to the actual woman as she thought, no matter how well drawn.

Another thing that comes to mind after re-reading it all after this chapter is Kagami wondering why her mom would suddenly want to come to see her in that same chapter 8 - which may well be a change brought on by Shinobu's letters.

Something about experiments to create gates between worlds. The two either accidentally got mixed up in it and met in that place for a short time or they were purposely used for an experiment and then got their memories wiped.

While I do agree that the two Marikas may have been switched before, I doubt it was on purpose, at least if Lily is right and the lab is indeed a few decades old. Accidentally stumbling on an anomaly left in the area due to old experiments seems more likely in this case. I guess we'll see once we get the next bits of this chapter, though...

I actually didn't say that the Marikas got switched... I was just asserting that Normal!Marika and Yuri!Lily met that short time as children because of the experiments. Whether they were just in the area and got involved by accident or whether both or one of them was a test subject, I don't know.

I actually don't think the Marikas got switched. Maybe Yuri!Marika wasn't even involved in that flashback at all. Like I said, Lily talking to her about meeting when they didn't might have sparked her interest in the shrine/lab in the first place.

May have also been like that, yes, but considering the age of the equipment, most likely still accidentally due to a lingering anomaly long after the lab was abandoned.

Likely the same anomaly Yuri!Marika used to perform the switch now, if the theories so far are true.

I'm convinced that Loralei is actually a manifestation of Miki in our reality.

I asked my friend for opinion. And she agrees with me that this manga is dumb, unrealistic and pointless.

You know, after the latest chapter, this does not help convince me otherwise... ;)
