It's interesting how some readers have an entirely different view on this than me. Where I see them overcome the troubles and grow closer again and again, even if everything isn't perfect yet, and consider the new troubles a chance to solve another problem, they only see impending doom. I've decided to name this the Bakarina Syndrome - due to remembering the original one-shot, people are so focused on the doom flags that they completely fail to see all the more positive developments this series has had.

usually in these kinds of stories there's a montage where the hero races through the city to stop the person she loves from doing something bad, and against all odds, she makes it just in the nick of time. But I guess this way I can imagine she teleported by harnessing mystical gay energies or something
I still think Ito is a good character, and that the manga can go to some interesting places, hopefully with Ito facing her insecurities and problems. Looking forward to more.
Rushed as it may be, this ending is pretty good. I believe it's pretty clear they all had sex, and then Ayame hosted a Ted talk on masturbation. Feels appropriate for the series., which is kind of like a love letter to masturbation, friendship, and sex.

In the case of Chuunibyo anime, Non received credit for "original character design" by default because she illustrated the source light novels. It's Kazumi Ikeda who is credited with adapting the character designs for animation, which makes sense as that's typically a seasoned animator's job.
