Mochiverse is a classic love conquer-and-justifies all. Breaking social taboos? No problem, if you are in love. Despicable behavior? It's okay, if it's out of love. Murderous thoughts? Love will cure them. And so on.

I'm going on a tangent here, but keeping journals might not be such a foolproof idea because of language changes. One would either need to keep adapting a long-dead language to modern terms and usages, or switch the language they use according to modernity and risk not being able to read entries that are older than a few centuries, since they'd need to keep several languages in memory and it's hard without practice.

It'd also be horrible ineffective if you actually want it to be even vaguely as good as a memory. You'd quickly spend more time writing and reading than doing pretty much anything else ^^;

Now that was just all around stupid and cliché.

I don't really get what's going on with Jirou at dinner. Obviously he was punished for something?

Either way, the ability to mentally dominate everyone around you sure is handy ...

It’s a little hard to explain why questions like this come off so badly. But they do.

That wasn't it at all. I was exasperated because that topic was discussed in at least 163 posts, including the ones directly above the question. ^^

Seriously, have you folks looked at actual Japanese street fashion? This stuff's pretty tame.

I'd overall agree that she wouldn't stand out in Tokyo much (they love layers...), but comparing what people really wear to a Fashion Week has never been a good glimpse at "realism" ^^;

This was a story I used to like but dropped a year ago due to non-existent plot. Has anything changed?

Are you trolling?

That's pretty extreme cuddling ...

That conflict just feels so artificial. She's literally living in a world full of lesbians. Let that useless lesbian in denial go, plenty of other girls around ^^

If a girl is cute, cleans for you, and wants to live with you; of course she's a yandere. The world must be balanced after all

In a way, if she weren't, just some random doormat so desperate to clean up after someone else that she'd trick them into taking her home, that'd be much more disturbing than her being a yandere-stalker.

Those Japanese funerals always expose a bunch of shitty relatives ... ^^

But yeah; I agree. Good stuff so far.

There's a whole bunch of German loanwords in English; Zeitgeist, Weltschmerz, Schadenfreude ... and of course stuff like angst or kaput or gesundheit.

edit: Ah, forget about it. It's not like any of this changes my mind and it'll just keep derailing the thread ^^

why would you compare 80-90 years and hundreds of years to begin with? really, why? ofc after saying goodbye to a lot of people your thinking change.

Because the argument was about "loss". Some of them had lost pretty everyone in their family and it didn't particularly make them suicidal (or at least not that they showed it). Additional decades or centuries wouldn't change much about that as everyone is already gone anyway.

Boredom after centuries might be different (yet how could you find the last century of rapid technological advancement boring?!) but I don't really see the argument over losing people close to you. We all live with that. Got parents, grandparents? Siblings? Friends? Well, they are all going to die, unless you die first. It won't make you suicidal, I can practically guarantee it.

So I really don't see why anyone automatically assumes that immortality is some sort of curse. I'd take it in a heartbeat. ^^

Always thought the sunlight destroys them was a bad idea. Seems too limiting and awkward from a writing perspective. Just my take.

That's kinda the point of why writers have it. If vampires are the antagonists, it's just more scary for them to be around at night, and it gives them a reasonable weakness (otherwise, why the heck wouldn't they rule earth already...).

If they are the protagonists, its part of the loss of humanity and the issues they have to deal with. A source of danger and regret and longing and whatnot. Tends to be some of the better stuff about the whole vamp business ^^

Frankly the immortality argument people take as granted here never made sense to me either. I know plenty of people in their 80s and even 90s and they aren't "tired" of life; unless they are sick or something. You just meet new people, the next generation of your family, etc. You don't sulk the next 30 years just because someone died; humans aren't build that way ^^ Maybe one day you'd get tired of it but I'm not buying into this "immortality, woe is me! Such a curse!" philosophy.

Anyway, whatever.

Classic u-haul lesbians ^^

But it's not that vampire = night creature is an outrageous thought before then. They are in many mythologies corpses that return from the grave to do whatever it is they are doing (bloodsucking, frightening people, sexually harassing their surviving spouses... ^^) specifically at night; or creatures that basically pass as normal humans during the day or are otherwise absent/harmless during the day but not at night.

Also; there's plenty of other mythological creatures that either are weakened by sunlight or can't appear during the day or whatnot.

So from there it was never a far step to "sunlight somehow harms them".

I didn't say anything about killing herself, just ending her immortality. :) If she eats to sustain her body like anyone else, but drinks blood in order to retain immortality, why not just stop with the blood and just eat herself to death on pizza and ice cream like the rest of us?

Ah. I don't think it's possible to "de-couple" this like that. They are immortal because they drink blood but if they stop drinking blood they don't stop being immortal, they just die.

At least that's my assumption.

Though the "eating normal food" most of the time to get on while "sucking blood to stay immortal" thing makes me ask why she needs to have someone stab her to end her immortality; why not just stop sucking blood like a relentless loli mosquito?

Eh, there's a reason few people pick "starve yourself to death" as a method of suicide even as a human; don't see why a vamp would be different in that regard ...

Yeah, that text on page 9 was unfortunately placed. I thought she had her face covered like in those typical manga death scenes for a moment as well ^^;

When experiencing suicidal thoughts, please call the nearest emergency yuri hotline.

Also, why don't these vampire manga never have proper vampires? Walking around in daylight? Eating?! Come on ...
