Honestly, I never thought about specifically searching for a loli + age gap. The only one I read was "Hoshikawa Ginza District 4", and I found it to be rather enjoyable, but I got to it because it was by Kurogane Ken, rather than looking for a loli story. Still, as I said, it was enjoyable, but then again, it was not really graphic, the social stigma was addressed, rather than just ignored, and it managed to convey both parties' sincere and serious feelings, without the younger one looking immature, or the older one looking manipulating.
Most cases, it is just not my cup of tea, if the child is depicted as an actual child, rather than mature-for-their-years, mentality-wise. Children are stupid, and I just can not take them as serious characters (and if they are paired with an adult, that becomes even more pronounced, in my opinion). That being said, I have nothing against it either.

it's already clear that there are limits to freedom of speech. You can't threaten to kill or assault someone, falsely yell "Fire!" in a crowded building, among other things that could cause potential harm. In particular, the US regulates how smoking can be advertised, and that it can't be intentionally advertised to children.

In particular, what does any of that have to do with lolis in manga? What is the actual harm of those manga?

"The new law does not include the banning of anime and manga that feature explicit scenes of children, after lawyers and publishers argued that censoring the materials would curb free speech."
Which is a diplomatic way of saying the manga and anime industry put a lot of money into lobbying against it.

Be that as it may, it would curb free speech.

I have no words...

well, actually i do have a few:

  • lack of consent
  • unequal power dynamics
  • sexual manipulation
  • romanticizing criminal behavior

I have just one:

  • fiction seriously, try it, you will be amazed at what you can find there ;)

Aww... Really sweet, as expected from this series. Even the toilet scene was strangely touching... Although, with all that hand holding, I am somewhat amazed neither of them got pregnant. Use gloves in the future!

Thank you for your hard work, Nevri! Congratulations! Nice name for a scanlation group, by the by.

I think CCL was just trying to point out that the word 'creepy' is decidedly a negative one. "Causing an unpleasant feeling of fear or unease". Hardly something you can be positive about, or consider a compliment, even a weird one.

Hi, not sure if I can post this here but I can find no other way to communicate with you members; could I speak privately with anyone from the webpage staff?as in a private message? thank you.

IRC is the only way to do that, since there is no PM system on the site. Go to that megaphone icon at the top of the screen, first one on the left next to 'Search'. There is almost always someone from the Staff in the channel.

I did not say you were, just that putting that black-on-white in the rules would be advisable. Not everyone is a native speaker, and some take things literally. "No suggesting/linking to mangafox" is better than "no linking to mangafox". And since the mention of the site will get deleted anyway, why not include a sentence to this effect in the rules?

Yes yes, we understand that people don't want to pay for manga, and it should be free and so forth. But please don't recommend or link to where you do it. Particularly if it's at Mangafox, Mangahere, or a clone of same.

Maybe putting that in the rules to begin with would be in order then, only directly linking is expressly mentioned there.

You mean like rule 8 in the rules, which has been there almost a year forbidding links to Mangafox, Mangahere, etc.?

The rules specifically forbid direct linking, but not the very mention of the site. Also, it was just one point on the list. And the user in question said they mostly buy the stuff anyway, so they were not promoting that site. But, you deleted both comments. My suggestion is for the rules be amended, to expressly say that even suggesting mangafox and similar is to be avoided. You do realise I am supporting this rule, right?

"U-um, I'm a guy..." Followed by her participating in a cross-dressing contest, despite not being a cross-dresser herself. Amazing how the author succeed in negating 40 chapters of characterisation in just a few panels. I mean, bloody hell, "I'm not cross-dressing. This is my true appearance" is literally one of the first thing she says, IN CHAPTER 1! And for what? Because some random characters were... what? Embarrassed by the girls' cuteness, or... I am honestly struggling to see why she said that. This makes no sense whatsoever. It actually looks like something the author put in there without thinking too much about it.

I am mildly conflicted on chapter 21. On the one hand, it really was amusing, on the other, this stalker was being build up as an actual threat for quite some time now, so, for it to end on such a humorous note... it just clashes with the tone of the previous chapters. Not to mention that such an outcome is hardly realistic. "Oh, I kidnapped the wrong person, haha, silly me, let me remove those restraints, my bad." This manga was established as having a realistic setting, so it just seems odd now.

I have yet to encounter a ship I dislike. Basically, everyone x anyone, especially if the author strives to realistically portray as to how people ended up together.

Speaking about it, sorry for cutting the flow... How about the new adaptation of Sailor Moon? I'm planning to watch it (in bluray of course, those first animation errors were creepy) and I've heard it was more accurate to the manga.

I watched it. It really does follow the manga more closely, and it is good. Not great, but not bad either, at least for me. Main problem is, it has too few episodes, so the characters do not get nearly as much characterization as in the original anime, which also makes the emotional scenes, well, not terribly emotional. I just could not feel sympathy for characters whom I hardly got to know. So, the main flaw would be that it is somewhat rushed.

They had it in for everything. Moon and Mars were also quite unlike themselves, personality-wise. Then those little cuts of almost any scene containing a sweat-drop (because that is so un-Western like), or comically distorted faces, or a piece of Japanese writing, or... just about anything. I remember some episodes lasting for something like 16, 17 minutes because of all the stuff they cut. And the ending was just atrocious. Gods forbid we have characters dying. Can not have that. Nope.
Problem was, they licensed a work targeted at adolescents/young adults, but somehow concluded it was actually for small children, and then tried to mould it into such a framework.

I HATE the Sailor Moon original Eng dub because of all the censoring of same-sex relationships. They changed Haruka and Michiru from lovers to cousins and that was pretty homophobic in my opinion.

HEY NOW! Just what are you implying about Amara and Michelle?? Trying to taint their pure family bond with yuri... Just kidding, lol.
In all seriousness, the Cloverway dub was actually hilariously inefficient, since they basically only stated that the two were cousins, but then left in practically all the scenes unchanged, effectively turning them from a lesbian couple into an incestuous lesbian couple. The DIC dub of the first two seasons, on the other hand, was pure butchery.

As for me, "Aoi Hana" and "Sasameki Koto" would be my biggest disappointments. Probably because they had so much potential, but never went anywhere.

Cute pair. Rooting for them. Even though it is unnecessary, since it is rather obvious they will end up together.

So, her sister filmed her while she masturbated.
That is quite a... um... unorthodox way of trying to help your sibling.
I am now honestly more interested in this sister character.

Using it for big casts of females with no females is how I personally would like to see it used.

So, basically, it can only be used for those philosophical discussions with no characters whatsoever.

Damn it, Morinaga!

"That's kind of troubling."
"That sort of thing... is weird?"
"Yeah, weird... or even... you know?"
"If she's serious, don't you think it's dangerous?"

NO!!!! It is NOT bloody "dangerous"! Inconvenient, given the culture there, yes. But talking about it like this, it is almost like they are discussing crime.
I actually like angst. But these stock female friends characters that only serve to deliver such lines...

The last few seconds of the last episode has Hazumu-chan confessing to Tomari-chan Just two words : "ano ne..." after skipping toward the other side of the river (typical way of starting a confession).

I don't remember much of Kashimashi so I don't know the context but it's not like "anno ne" is strictly limited to confession. Not saying you're wrong, as I said I dont remember much of the anime and the ending (might even have missed this scene)

To my understanding, "ano ne" means something like "hey, you know", like "You know what, this is blablabla." I do not believe it is a confession phrase. I remember Yasuna beginning her breakup with it, sounding really serious, then Hazumu cheerfully beginning her confession with the same phrase.

I don't remember it. Maybe I even missed it. Still looking at anime ending and then OVA starting with Yasuna breaking with Hazumu off screen, because she supposedly didn't want to rely on Hazumu too much was totally out of blue. I remember being really confused by it.

The beginning of the scene of Yasuna breaking up with Hazumu was actually in the last episode of the regular anime. Few seconds of it, followed by few seconds of Hazumu confessing to Tomari. Only thing that is said by Yasuna is "ano ne...", then cut immediately to Hazumu beginning her confession with those same words. Again, cut right after she says "ano ne". You might have missed it if you did not watch past the credits, since it was in the stinger. Both scenes are then expanded upon in the OVA.

no, didn't read the manga but best girl lose. That I remember

Actually in anime Yasuna wins. Only in ova they change the ending without any explanation to match the canon manga ending. Anime was good, but imo manga was way better and I didn't mind ending with Tomari because it made sense in story and let's be fair, unlike Yasuna she was ready to sacrifice her life for Hazumu. That is something.

The last episode implied the Tomari route though. In the stinger, after the credits. It was only a couple of seconds, but still. OVA was then continued from that point.

...was I the only one who actually rooted for Tomari? For some reason I could not stand Yasuna...

But yes, Tomari is the ultimate winner in both the manga and the anime.
