Well, back when the series was airing, Izawa, Iguchi and Kubo were together on a radio show and a recurrent joke was that Izawa hadn't tell her parents about the show. They were constantly teasing her about that on every episode. It was quite fun.

I love Matsuri proclaiming herself as Harumin's GF but why did she felt the need of running away at the end? To avoid Nene slipping in front of Harumin?

It always make me smile to read things like these.

In the context of this discussion because being fictional characters the ones involved, is completely harmless.

That is my point, Takaki has toyed with the idea before and since one of the reasons he developed VD in the first place is to do things he couldn't do with SK, well...

My main 3 problems with Mermaid girls are: huge boobs, huge boobs and huge boobs. In that exact order.

To be fair, there's a good amount of variety regarding boob sizes on Mermaid. The only outright titty monsters are Mirei, J, Torino and Akira. And I'm pretty sure Akira's boobage is mostly for the laughs.

It's not just the giant breasts that are in no way proportional to the girls bodies, it's something about the girls clothing style, skin texture and other such matters that makes them...unpleasant to look at. It's hard to describe.

The artstyle of Kaneko and Mana Wara are different to begin with, Wara going for a more Painting/Pin up approach while Kaneko is more about something visually striking. I like them both since I feel they both enrich the setting though.

I'd like to hope that wasn't Takaki's idea, because I respect him too much to think he'd go there.

Senran Kagura New Wave finally had its first collaboration with Valkyrie Drive by having the Paradise swimsuits included on its new set of cards. The swimsuits used are Siren, Lorelei and Otohime. Pretty random if you ask me but I won't complain.

I'd expect for the Mermaid and Bhikhkuni swimsuits to show up down the line as well.

And by the same token, I hope this won't be the last collaboration between the two series.

Anyhow, it doesn't seem like any of these people have any actual proof to support their assertions... that's an Internet argument for you. In the interview you posted, the interviewees did say that they got fan mail from "a lot of female fans" though... they certainly did not say that they received fan mail from ONLY female peeps, so I think logic would dictate that there are also some male fans. Also, it's not like you can fucking derive someone's sexuality from fan mail unless they outright say "I'm gay," so, unless the person saying it's ONLY liked by lesbians has some more evidence... then yeah. Also, "larping lesbian," what in hell. Also dos, fan art isn't an indicator of anything!?! So I guess Touhou and KanColle aren't popular now, huh? I suppose one could argue that no one actually plays the games and only reads the fan works, but VD is more... well, plot-oriented than those games (not something I ever thought I'd seriously say about Valkyrie Drive!) and the doujins reference stuff that happen in the show. For that reason, I'd wager that more VD fan artists actually watched the anime and played the games, although the same may or may not be true for Touhou and Kancolle fans.

For starters the guy complaining about VD is just ranting and pulling things out of his ass with the others either taking the piss on him or offering somewhat sustainable counterarguments. That said, what do we know about the series fanbase is that a majority of it were women. It was mentioned by the staff and by the very own fans on its moment.

I am a heterosexual (possibly bi, not relevant at all to the point though) man (yeah, not really, I'm 17) and I... did not like Valkyrie Drive at all. As I said before. But, you all convinced me to give it another go, so I'll probably watch it some time... eventually.

How did Flip Flappers do anyway? Hopefully, it did well, I'd love to watch a second season, an OVA, a movie, whatever. It seems as if Princess Principal is following in FliFla's footsteps though so I presume it did so well that 3Hz decided "Hey, let's insert yuri into EVERY FUCKING THING WE DO IN THE FUTURE" AND I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT. Probably didn't do quite that well, but, yeah, one can hope.

I didn't follow Flip Flappers so I can't comment on that but I'm sure someone else will be able to clear some things up.

Vank answered the thing about skinmax so I'll explain the thirsty jailhouse bit. Basically is saying girls that get into lesbianism/yuri as novelty and/or boredom, not unlike to they way inmates indulge on homosexuality in prison.

Is not only mature air, she outright acts like the stereotypical twenty something OL and she also looks older than the rest of the girls.

The art got me confused this time. I was under the impression that Aika was significantly older than Hane and this in turn, made me wonder why she was at the school with Hane and not working.

Seven Seas finally finished publishing this series on english so I was finally able to read the whole series.

Honestly, it feels that by the end they wrote themselves on a corner because that was a pretty contrived finale. I appreciate the yuri and the art is great but the writing was pretty weak overall. I dunno if in hands of a better writer could've been improved or not but there's clear glimpses of a better story underneath. Probably removing the "characters go after failing" would've been a smart choice. I mean, you get good backstories just for the characters drop from the story as soon as you get to know them better and Haru being pretty underwhelming as lead didn't make the story any favors.
